Lucky man! Well done, you've worked damn hard to get here dude. A wee bit jealous. Maybe one day you'll fill in the models in between! 265, 760, 780 and 960!! 🤣🤣
Volvo 240 is more than a car...it's an icon Like a coca cola bottle, instantly recognized throughout the entire world...very special car to own & drive * you'll know what i and other 240 owners mean when you own one yourself :)
Nice, thank you. But... I have to react. I have owned 11 Volvo's in the past 6 years. I do not keep my cars long and still have 2. Objectively especially the 940 was outdated the moment it was introduced. I also use to own a W124 230E, a very comparable car. Not only was/is the M-B much better engineered, it drove a lot better and the engine, also a 4 cyl. 2.3 L, was/ is very smooth, quite the opposite of a red block. THE downside of the Benz: rust. I now have a C180 from 1998, great little car, yet it does rust. Yet 240s and 740s also rust. In my experience the best Volvo's rustwise are the 900 series and the V70/S60/S80, the so called P2 chassis. The 5 cyl. 'white block' is a great engine and my 19 year old V70 still feels quite modern. Like the '98 C180. My 940GLE, which I do love, really feels like an old car. And I do urge every red block fan to try one of the white block Volvo's, they make great daily drivers. And so do Saabs.... I like Volvo's, yet I'm not blind to their downside and you can see in the 80s and 90s Volvo's that Volvo did not have the money to really develop these cars. Volvo did however develop a great and contemporary car with the 850.
I agree the 940 was very dated but to me it feels more modern compared to the other 2 that were being made around the same time, but yeah the 850 is even more leaps ahead, strange to think that they started making them at the same time as this 940!
I love the 240, the quality is much better than the ones that follows and it is an icon. The knocking noise heard on the 240 is most probably a piston slap, very common th these engines, rnnoying but absolutely not dangerous
@@Involvod when these cars were new, the gearbox was noisier than the engine, these b230 were a vast improvement over the b21 and B23 in terms of smoothness.

Reminds me of the house over the road from my place family who live there the son has a red 240 on Corvette wheels a silver 240 which is standered then the dad has a 740 in blue a 940 in silver I know the dad had a couple of others but they are stored so ent seen them yet in my experience I really like the 94 850 glt and the 740 Wentworth as there the only 2 Volvo's I've owned
Nice! I'd love to have Volvo neighbours! Don't see any out here in the Eastern outskirts of Berlin
@@Involvod remember as a teen helping my uncle out on a building site between collage holldays we went half on a 89 740 gle had over 400.000 miles on but most likely more as the clocks were broken but everything worked heated seats the lot such a reliable car so regret selling so mostly had Volvo's sence hopefully next pay day I'm able to find a nice one would love another 240 850 or 740
I love volvo.
When you said 2,3 and 2,5 did you mean 2300 and 2500 Euros ? Ouch if so , And what a nice thing of those two who sent the panel ,
I had a 740 that saved my life at 5am one morning and I am forever in debt to its memory !!!! Gg @Involvo'd + Mrs Involvo'd..❤
Yeah! But I honestly think it was worth it, she hasn't cost me much at all really and it's mostly rust free! It's worth about €4000 now as it sits, prices have really gone wild here!
It's always sad to lose one but it did what it was built for, thanks for sharing 🙏
@@Involvod yep I guess the 80's stuff is now becoming what my Triumph Herlad once was , A Classic , No longer a Future Classic . Yeah i do like em though, The old 240 shape is what I grew up seeing , 740 bust all the bulbs on OS front , and it went through a foot thick moorland gatepost thanks to local binmen and their overfilled Diesel tank. No worries ,My own tank made the cattle grid a little wider , RIP , she had to go Later to the red rot, but hell what a ride , the engine was still running as I questioned myself , Am I dead Now ? To which the dog barked and answered for me (fun fact is he was a German Shephard Cross) Thanks Man , love the Vids !!!! ❤🍀
Proper tanks! Love a German Shepherd, we've had maybe 10 in the family! Thanks again 🙂
Nice plates man!😉
Thanks 😄
reminds me of my collection... besides my 760 isn't running at all
You need to get them lined up for pics, I'll help push! 😄
Love the video. I'm in Germany and looking for a pretty clean 240 or 740. By "pretty clean" I mean thst doesnt need major body or mechanical work because I dont have good access to a workspace. Where should I look?
Love your car bro, they clean, you motivated me to make a youtube chanel for me wagon as well..
Thanks man! Let me know the deets and I'll be straight over to check it out and subscribe!
Nice!! Like your carchoise
Thanks 😃
Looks like my driveway bro I'll have to send you a pic one day
Nice, I'm jealous I'd love a driveway 😃
Hey.
Cool Video.
Im looking forward 2 buy a 740 sedan.
Sadly a 850 Wagon does FWD not RWD.
Do you have any recommendations?
Should mid 80 end 80 (box looking).
Fleet is neat mate
Thanks mate!
Volvo 940 super polar 👍
240. Is King
740 and 940 were concessions that economical pressures created.
Which one is the most fuel efficient of these? I understand the 900 series got heavier and heavier as the years went on and consumption went up.
THE HOLY TRININTY. 🙌
😍
279...Nice Fleet
Thanks 👍
Nice motors, what do you do for your day job ?
Thanks! I work as a delivery driver and some kitchen work for a little cafe in Berlin
Need a 760 and 960 now
And the rest 😃
2 outta 3 ain't bad!
👍
I'm watching from Japan! I'm on the 940. Is there an oil leak or oil bleeding?
Hey! No I don't think so, why do you ask?
@@Involvod There is almost no oil leakage when riding a Japanese car. However, my Volvo often leaks oil. What does Mr.involvo'd think about Volvo's oil leaks? I want to refer to it.
@@sakimoto_minoru 😄 they can leak, have you checked your PCV system? My next video is on it, can often cause leaks if it gets blocked.
@@Involvod There was a video on UA-cam explaining the pcv system, so let's take a look.
Thank you for your reply!
I'm looking forward to the video!🔥
Absolute bargain on the 940. I let mine 940 go forward. Headgasget was well done, now i know ot went bad over a year ago. Long story short. A guy bought it tear it a part send me pics and the gasket was bad just under the thermostat. Theres a hole on block but not in the head for coolant flow, thermostat is on the way. Well i was a bit lucky. Now its aw71 l is broke 2. Gear and the engine passblows. Got 1500e on it and kept the hydra wheels to sell em 500e
Ah yeah I had the same problem on my first 940 it also had corrosion on the head a little bit on the block! I also have a problem with excess crankcase pressure on the 740, hoping it's not excessive blow by... I'm uploading a video on it tonight!
Sounds like you did okay out of that one in the end, have you sold the wheels?
Wheels are sold, went quick for 500e
Now daily driver is fiat shitboxx 1.9 jtd. Awfull to drive but taxes and insurance are super low and that fiat diesel goes 4.6litres to 100 km
omg your number plates, how do you get that??
It cost an extra €8 to personalise everything after the 'B' (for Berlin) using 2 more letters and 3/4 numbers 😃
Me and my volvo friends are in berlin over the weekend wanna get a beer and hang ? With some swedish volvo guys //gustav
Thanks for the invite man! We're actually going away this weekend, will you be over again soon? We are also thinking about a trip to Sweden at some point so might even catch you there!
You’re welcome if you come to sweden . Will get in touch if we are in berlin soon
The AMAZON is missing!!!
need a 140 in there too bud
One day man!
You just need to hit a million miles and you get a free Volvo lol. Some dude in America bought his new in 92 just got a free one recently. It's on yt so cool. Guy who sold him the car ended up being the manager like 30 yrs on. Volvos man.
I saw it but didn't get a chance to watch it, I'll do it now! Is that the video you shared to me on Insta? The link didn't work for some reason
@@Involvod yeah it's amazing. He's had 2 engines in it as well. ua-cam.com/video/b8Rp8ENvNbg/v-deo.html
Where is your 780 Bertone?
I'm saving up for it 😂
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
whats better 88 240 or a 90 740 both wagons?
The 740 was canceld before The 240
Yeah I wish I had mentioned that! The 240 outliving it's replacement 😄
A man from Sweden Will help you 😀
WOW! A rust-filler-paint-floor-sandwich on that 740. Yikes.
AND- us watching these videos doesn’t pay for the Volvo purchases YET!
Haha yeah maybe one day 😎
((d-()-l l-()-b)) Will the 1987 Volvo 740 GL FRONT lights, grill, fit on a 940???
Soon be into double figures you with volvos owned but 🤫 dont tell mis involvod
