- DW The Picky Eater (also known as Arthur's Adventures with D.W.) is a Living Books PC CD-Rom Game from 1998 based on a Marc Brown book.

I have a sensitive pallet, so I've remained 'picky' into adulthood; I can't stand the smells of peppers and onions, the texture of tomatoes or the used-to-be-an-adorable-little-piggy-ness of pork. That said, DWs actions at the restaurant were inexcusable. Even as a child, I knew that if you simply asked your waiter for a dish without a certain ingredient, they'll easily comply most of the time. A few months ago, my family and I were at a new restaurant and I asked for cobb salad without tomatoes or onions, which the waitress made sure of, and it was delicious.
Indeed DWs behavior is unacceptable in a public place.

But like all kids, they should grow up.
In the cartoon, when DW shouted “I HATE SPINACH!”, the bowl flew off the table and landed on the waiter’s head. But not in the book.

Also made the guy quit and the family either left because they were kicked out or because they were really embarrassed or possibly both either way much worse if a tantrum then on the book

My parents read this story aloud to me when I was younger and it seemed to be VERY interesting. EVERYONE is a picky eater sometimes. 👍🏻 if you agree even though you probably had trouble eating what was in front of you when you went out to dinner at restaurants when you were D.W.'s age.

i agree with dw honestly i remember when i used to go to my elementary school i put spinach in my mouth while in the lunch line and i hated it i dont know if its cause my tastebuds dont like bland food but i have aspergers so anything healthy tastes nasty to me no matter how hard i try

Isn't there supposed to be a scene in this Living Books reading game where DW shouted "NO!" and pounded her fist into the salad dish like in the book? I never knew that she said "I hate spinach!" in this Living Books reading game. She said that in the TV version episode of the same name.
I think there is... or maybe it's just a memory from the book.

@@TSMChannel The fact is, when DW pounded her fist onto the salad dish in the restaurant during the episode of the same title, her bowl of salad landed on the waiter and he quit his job because of that. However, this is not seen in the book.
I think there was a time I learned to be a picky eater when I was 12 years old. There might have been a few times I asked for other foods when we were served something else such as oatmeal, and when it was served on the table, I asked for bread and butter instead. My parents seemed very disappointed at this.

@@cherylremling8789 Imagine if DW the Picky Eater still had the “Yes” and “No” answers… Then, Arthur’s dad David would’ve asked us if we want to quit. He’d say “Farewell, until next time” if Yes (held by DW) was chosen. But if you still want to keep playing the game, he would’ve said “Very well. Let’s go back to the story” if No (held be Arthur Read) was chosen. This is just my imagination to what would’ve been if DW the Picky Eater had this Quit button when clicked on the door. That would’ve been the similar concept to the Berenstain Bears books when Papa Bear was the tritagonist to ask if we want to stop playing.
I forgot this one was on the Living Books catalog.

This right here is the fifth episode of Series 2 of Arthur. I don't have the DVD of it but once I do I can watch it. They put out the first three seasons of Arthur on six discs, Series 2 got released on two volumes.
