They had a lot of sweet moments together as characters tbh. That scene in Betty’s leaving party, where Wilhelmina tells her she admires her and ends with “you’ve got big balls Betty Suazrez” stands out in my mind as one of my favourites in the show

I don't think it's ever hinted that Wilhelmina despises Betty, in fact, she probably admires her plenty, because Betty was always ready to cross Wilhelmina if it meant protecting those she cares for, no matter how scared she is. There are so many instances where Betty has gone against Wilhelmina, tried to stand up to her, or straight up exposes her schemes, but Wilhelmina never hates her for it, she sees a young lady with potential, and with the sheer force of will to see it through. I think when she realised Betty found the designer and had Marc make the pitch, Wilhelmina was truly disappointed - in front of her stood this embodiment of everything unfashionable, so at odds with the industry, and yet she never backed down, and yet she backed away from this stand. It was so unlike Betty to not fight her own battles, especially when she had taken greater plunges and taken greater risks in the past. I think there is a deleted scene from an earlier episode where Wilhelmina does share a heart to heart with Betty, where she admits to reading her blog and feeling very moved by it. It's rare to get a compliment from Ms Slater, but then that's probably because so few people are truly so brave as to stand up to her, therefore anyone who does is worth their weight in gold and worth holding onto.
im sure that Whilemina sees alot of herself in Betty, the great thing about Whilemina is that, despite her obvious villainous tendencies, she does the right in when it counts

We didn't tune in, to see filthy Baseball games, or paintball challenges, or trips to low-rent Caribbean resorts, or Hilda's romantic problems, or jousting at "The Middle Ages". More about what it's like to move up in life, and at work, and in the big city - THAT is what viewers wanted to see.
No, what this show should have been is being true to the original Columbian series's story, you know, the one that was so good it was remade by many countries all over the world. This is nothing but a generic ABC drama that wanted to cash in on the success of the real Ugly Betty without having to commit to it.

It I farrr from a bad show, the core of the show were moments Like this- about what love and friendship mean in an environment without any. Sure there was a lot of cheesy drama, but that was all their for b plot and to fill out time, the true heart of this remake are the characters and their diverse and interesting dynamics with each other, I don't by any means think its a bad remake

The original had THE WORST possible message “Change your whole physique to get the man you want to fall in love with you” I agree this series had its flaws... but i loved how they embrace the mexican culture in a dog eat dog world such as that industry... in none other less than the most difficult place ever: NY!, how they told the story of the path of a young boy who’s gay, the story of a transexual woman, the message of how even Betty was judgemental with the fashion, thinking that it was dumb, only to realize that everything can have a deeper meaning if you search for it... And how she stayed true to herself... of course she evolved in her style, as all of us do, but she didn’t loose any weight or changed completely who she was for any man... and all of that, with a funny, simple and silly humor. 💙
