I appreciate your insightful take. So many commentators are hitting the panic button and some are not even mentioning the simultaneous theatrical window. I think this was a bold move (uncool to not let the filmmakers know ahead of time, I admit), but WarnerMedia/WB had to do something. It is difficult administering change, but we can only wait and see.
Until COVID is just a memory, it will be awhile until we go back to life before we had this pandemic. Even if we had a vaccine that worked very well, there will still be people afraid to go out. I feel bad for theaters though because they can only hold out until this pandemic is behind us. Otherwise, no matter what is put in theaters, they’ll never make as much as if it were normal life.
