I'm not familiar with synthesizers, so please use this reply as a reference only. There is a high degree of freedom in creating tones. Based on square waves and sawtooth waves, various variations can be expressed by varying the cutoff and resonance. Although it is possible to express the beat by devising the envelope, it is difficult to create music including rhythm with this one device. The 4-voice and 64-step sequencer allows you to express complex melodies and harmonies. I wouldn't say it's the perfect machine for beginners, but I think it's a good introduction to synthesizers.
I would suggest though it’s not very hard to learn, I would suggest you find a synth with more “1 knob per function” and little as possible menu diving. A korg monologue or something similar

I got the S1, its a good synth for anyone. you can play it right away, and has alot to learn. 100% recommend
