In The Heights won Tony Awards. It's a very good show which translates better on stage than the screen. Hamilton is a genius work of art. Lin Manuel Miranda gave us a masterpiece for sure. Also, great video and Gabe's rapping was good!!
I love hearing you guys talk about musicals during these pack openings I was wondering Bobby have you ever watched the movie of West Side Story or scene West Side Story? It is my favorite musical and I've loved it ever since it was shown in my Middle School
I've known of it for years, but hadn't seen anything from it until last week when watching the movie, and the music and the story just wasn't doing it for me. Wasn't enough genuine conflict or characters to really care about, and the music, in my opinion, was not remotely close to the level of the songs in "Hamilton," which is obviously very difficult to do, but I was hoping for something a bit better. For "In the Heights," it just seemed like happy pretty people with minor issues to deal with and I had no interest in how those issues got resolved. I wanted to like it. Still love the people involved in making it, just didn't do it for me for whatever reason.
