I am a 39 year old woman and his response to your question about asking if he loved you broke my heart into a million pieces. He may be your biological father and the sperm donor but it takes a special person to be called a dad. My parents divorced when I was about 10, best thing that ever happened to them, honestly. My father didn’t know how to “dad” and I see that now as an adult. Thankfully, I was able to talk with him (still do off and on to keep the relationship going) and therapy has helped me navigate Life and make sense of things I didn’t see as a child. Long story short, blood relation or not, if they’re not around during your struggle, they don’t deserve to be around during your success. Wrapping you in a big, big hug! ❤️
