I liked this song very much since the release, but it only had an actual meaning to me recently.. I was crying over this person every single day for like 6 months until one day in February I woke up not thinking about him at all, it was like in a magical night i forgot that he existed and he couldn't affect me anymore. it was so weird but all that mattered is that im finally over it and life feels like it used to feel

It's been nearly half a year since I graduated high school. I feel like this song doesn't have to necessarily be about an ex-lover. For me it's describing how I've been mentally detoxing from a terrible roommate situation. We started out friendly, but with COVID quarantine she showed her true colors of how inconsiderate and controlling she was. I literally couldn't focus at work because I hated the thought of having to go home at the end of the day, it was "living in my mind." I was so relieved to be able to move to my own apartment.
