- Puer Natus in Bethlehem - hymn for Christmas
Words and neumes:
en.wikipedia.o...
From what I can tell, there is one stanza missing ('Cognovit bos et asinus'), which I did not record.
Puer natus in Bethlehem,
Unde gaudet Jerusalem,
alleluia.
Refrain:
In cordis jubilo,
Christum natum adoremus
Cum novo cantico.
Assumpsit carnem Filius,
Dei Patris altissimus,
alleluia.
Per Gabrielem nuntium,
Virgo concepit Filium,
alleluia.
Tamquam sponsus de thalamo,
Processit Matris utero,
alleluia.
Hic jacet in praesepio,
Qui regnat sine termino,
alleluia.
Et Angelus pastoribus,
Revelat quod sit Dominus,
alleluia.
Reges de Saba Veniunt,
Aurum thus myrrham offerunt,
alleluia.
Intrantes domum invicem,
Novum salutant Principem,
alleluia.
De Matre natus Virgine,
Sine virili semine,
alleluia.
Sine serpentis vulnere,
De nostro venit sanguine,
alleluia.
In carne nobis similis,
Peccato sed dissimilis,
alleluia.
Ut redderet nos homines,
Deo et sibi similes,
alleluia.
In hoc natali gaudio,
Benedicamus Domino,
alleluia.
Laudetur sancta Trinitas,
Deo dicamus gratias,
alleluia.
English translation by Hamilton M. MacGill (1876)
A child is born in Bethlehem,
Exult for joy, Jerusalem!
Allelujah.
Refrain (literal translation):
With an exultant heart,
let us adore the new-born Christ,
with a new song.
The Son of God the Father,
In the highest has taken flesh,
Allelujah.
By angel Gabriel announced,
The virgin has conceived the Son.
Allelujah.
Like a bridegroom from the chamber,
He proceeds from the womb of the mother.
Allelujah.
Lo he who reigns above the skies,
There in a manger lowly, lies.
Allelujah.
And the angel to the shepherds, The Lord reveals that He is risen, Allelujah.
And kingly pilgrims, long foretold,
From East bring incense, myrrh and gold,
Allelujah.
And enter with their offerings,
To hail the newborn King of Kings.
Allelujah.
He comes, a maiden mother’s Son,
Yet earthly father has He none;
Allelujah.
And from the serpent’s poison free,
He owned our blood and pedigree,
Allelujah.
Our feeble flesh and His the same,
Our sinless kinsman He became,
Allelujah.
That we, from deadly thrall set free,
Like Him, and so like God, should be.
Allelujah.
Come then, and on his natal day,
Rejoice before the Lord and pray.
Allelujah.
And to the holy One in Three.
Give praise and thanks eternally.
Allelujah.

The lovely woman is blessed with a voice gifted by God. Please, carry us through this Lenten Season 2021 with as much Gregorian Chant as possible, we desperately need it. God bless you for posting these beautiful videos, they transport me to another realm closer to Christ.
It's quite difficult to find the entirety of some of these Latin hymns on UA-cam. Even the finest choral editions tend to rip multiple stanzas away from the rest of the hymn. So thank you for unsparingly sharing this treasure of Holy Mother Church. A blessed Feast of St. Stephen and a merry Christmastide to you!
What about the sheet music?
Just one word: "Beautiful"... 🙏🏻
I don't know but everytime this babe sings I can't help but fall in love with her angelic voice, her sweeping angelic voice is so sweet❤❤
This is absolutely moving! Thank you for bringing these chants to life!
Oh, please post more! Not only is your voice so so lovely, but listening to you has also helped improve my own singing! I hope to see you put up more classic Latin chants. God bless!!
Your voice gives great praise to our Lord. God bless you sister.
Just beautiful! Merry Christmas!
I love your channel and hope you will come back soon.
I dare say feel holy whenever I listen to your singing, thank you for sharing your amazing voice. You take me to an holy place, I'd imagine this is how the angels sing in heaven!
Can you sing "Stabat Mater Dolorosa"? God bless you!
Esses cânticos gregoriano, eleva a alma a Deus. Parabéns, Rebeca.
Thank you this is so uplifting!
HERMOSO FELICIDADES BENDICIONES 🙏😇🙏
She has the voice of an angel, which was evident to all even at the tender age of three.
Please sing the Stabat Mater. ❤️
Me uno a la petición, por favor cantar el Stabat Mater
Thank you Rebecca for yet another beautiful track!!🙏🏽
Have you ever sung "Pange Lingua Gloriosi"?
I would LOVE to hear it if you ever do!
The way it peaks throughout the song feels so sublime.
When you have time would you be able to do the Angelus? Thank you.
Dear Ms. Gorzynska, would you please sing the Veni Creator Spiritus? Thank you for sharing your gifts; it is such a blessing to me!
Beautiful! Can you please record the Rorate Caeli Desuper sometime? Your voice is wonderful!
Wow you’ve been nailing it with all these releases recently. What’s the drone? This is the first time I’ve ever heard one in one of your videos.
Thank you! I added the track credit at the end of the description - I believe it is a bagpipe/uillean pipe, either a combination or simulation of those. I am hoping to do some real collaboration soon ☺️ It takes an afternoon of the kids out of the house to get anything at all recorded!
@@RebeccaGorzynska Love it! Keep up the great work!
🌹🌹🌹
Laudetur Iesus Christus.
Nie Jesteś przypadkiem z Polski?
Are you from Poland maybe?
❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful as always. What’s your primary language? Happy Holidays for you and your family 🙏
Merry Christmas to you, thanks for listening! My first language is English, secondarily Polish ☺️
@@RebeccaGorzynska wow!!! That’s really hard to English born speakers to pronounce Latin so perfectly like that. Congratulations and keep impressing us with your beautiful job.
What is your approach on the rhythm of gregorian chants
❤️👍🏻
Jak bym ci mogl cos zaproponowac to wyizolowac sciany np matami akustycznymi .Gratuluje glosu Anielskiego.Pozdrawiam
We are going to sing it tomorrow with Schola Gregoriana Ad Fontes. It sounds very good with that burdon voice, although since 'in cordis jubilo' is sang, the melody gets harmonically more complicated. Do you play hurdy-gurdy?
No, unfortunately, but my brother does. I think we would probably harmonize it with D, F, and A instead of just D if I would have an opportunity to record it with him.
I hope these recordings on UA-cam are a kind of practice for a better recording in the future :)
Does your Schola sing the stanzas in this order? Do you also sing the stanza about the Ox and Ass which is missing here? This time I didn't trust Wikipedia 😂
@Rebecca Gorzynska, your recordings are really good. Don't get into criticism ;) It would be a fantastic thing to listen to Gregorian chant cantillated by you with your family involved, especially with hurdy-gurdy.
Definitely we won't sing about oxen :D Very good idea not to trust that website. In fact, it is controlled by freemasonry and Global Government - ha, ha :D
@@RebeccaGorzynska, please pray for mother of our musical director who died last night.
I bet you can't find Gregorian chants for lent?
Don't stop
Are you a Catholic believer? :)
Is it wrong to worship Mary in prayer?
Catholics do not worship Mary - we worship only God. We honor Mary.
I am not sure I understand. There is a Catholic prayer called the Hail Mary prayer. I'm not sure how it goes, but it says something like, "Hail Mary full of grace, pray for our sinners now and at the hour of our death." That sounds like a form of worship, doesn't it? Also, inside the buildings where Catholic services are held I've seen numerous statues of who's supposedly Mary and I've seen people pray to those statues. It's a bit confusing.
@@Biff.Bogardus Hi, the Hail Mary prayer is asking Mary to pray for us to God, like you would ask family or friends to pray for you. In a similar way, statues and images of Mary and other saints are not idols - they are just statues and images to remind us of the holy men and women who have gone before us, like you would keep photos of your family in your house :) God bless!
@@Biff.Bogardus The Hail Mary is from scripture. You don’t have anything against Scripture, do you? Beautiful l singing!!!!
@@CynthiaToni Hi ! Thanks for your reply. Oh wow I didn't know that it is scriptural. Awesome! What scripture is it from? I would like to read it 😊👍 and yes! Beautiful singing indeed !
