Probably just me but I believe that 2021 was a gift. I think every year should be called Drum Corp International Celebration and not Championship. I think the freedom that the corps showed this year was the pure joy of music in all of its glory. Not pandering to a bunch of judges and trying to fit in a mold that will get them points. As a musician the thought of doing a program with precision and excellence to a audience is the greatest experience. For a group of performers to sync up with a audience is a feeling of freedom. It was fun to watch and listen this year to hundreds of young people express their love of music and performing to share that passion with us. Thank you
I commented a while back on this video but i never really took the time to read other comments, I have to agree. I don't march because I want to win (my band is one of those ones that end up in the middle of the pack), I march because music helps me feel connected to my friends and departed family. I march because I love the activity, not for myself. I march because I want to share my love for music with other people. It shouldn't be about appeal and wowing the judges (in any circuit, imo), it should be about the passion that these groups have and want to show the world.
@@thephantasticfool I mean I was at the camp this past week and it definitely feels like they are pushing really hard to get even better. And I personally think the BD and SCV might fall. Crown looks like it has a shot to be the 20s dominating corp. Who knows tho
@@joshfriez6538 this year was *absolutely* a sign of things to come. Bluecoats, Boston, Crown, SoA, Blue Knights, Colts and even more all had incredibly strong shows. Especially for the limited time frame. The Colts and SoA are both out for blood in 2022, and I'd go as far as to say they both will be in the fight for 12th in Semi's. BK is still very strong, and this show was no fluff. The Bluecoats somehow made an even more elaborate conclusion to their 2-part Beatles act than anyone could've expected. That show was Top 4 material as well as Crown and their insanely clean brass and drill. And they had a *5 week season.* This year was an incredible year. And while BK may not make top 3 in 2022, I think they're gonna be fighting for a spot in the top 6 for sure. Look out.
@@karlmarx2590 I don't think the Devs or Vanguard are going anywhere. You think they just jacked off this season? They both probably spent about a day on their programs and spent the rest of the season practicing for next year. I would say if anything the Devils and Vanguard are gonna come back stronger than they were before.
It is very pleasing to see such a fine presentation. Beautiful musically as well as visually. I remember the students that I had pass through this organization and I am so pleased to see the continuing progression of excellence and musicianship. im glad some of the corps were able to have some sort of season........it has not been easy run for everyone, knowing that some of the corps were able to do something is great. it shows this year ....was for the fun of the music this time :)
BK never hesitates to send shivers down my spine. This was a beautiful show, as were their shows in recent years.

I'd love to agree but they are not going to be good enough to overthrow the likes of the top 4 from 2019 assuming they are still on the same level
