"And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land." - Isaiah 32
I learned "Big Eyed Rabbit" from a recording of Fred Cockerham and Tommy Jarrell. Played on fretless mountain banjo, handmade by Clifton Hicks ~ fCFAC La Bella No. 17 nylon strings. AKA Rock in a Weary Land, Pig in a Pen, etc.

This banjo is inviting or comforting!
Not sure how to say it!
After I was admiring it, I read the that you made it!
    Awesome!
Color of strings strung above the color of wood!
    Seems less intimidating!

gotta love how it sounds like your hitting muted stone instruments when you pluck your lower strings

@@CliftonHicksbanjo never seen a reply, never meant a muted but bit more more of a acoustic.

Yessir, some call it thumb lead/finger lead. Best descriptor is just "two finger."

I passed through Britain more than ten years ago while in the service. I did not carry my banjo with me and only got to see London, Holyhead and Dublin. I'd love to come back and do it right some day.
