@@simonbeckford3025 : _ Oh, really? Wes was a blues oriented jazz guitarist with tons of groove, and Dan is quite similar. If you can't hear the similarity, you just don’t understand jazz or blues.
_ While I appreciate his phrasing, Pat just can’t swing, which means he doesn't have enough groove to be a straight-ahead jazz musician. Yes, Metheny should be regarded only as a fusion guitarist.
I wouldn’t say Dan is a reincarnation of Wes. But, he must have studied Wes quite a lot, as shown obviously in the way he plays octaves with effective spacing to generate groove, and the audience couldn’t help joining in with clapping their hands.
@@simonbeckford3025 I dont hear the Pat Metheny influence at all. Metheny is great in his approach and style but does not cut through like Wilson, Benson, etc.. Maybe you mean Pat Martino
sorry the sound is deplorable. I can't sit in on the noisefest. I'm a fan of the artists. But, a recording only works as music if it doesn't sound like it's in a 1.5 acre aluminum cave with a lapel condenser mike. 👎🏻 🤮
THx This trió was in Budapest jazz club..Rip Joey..
Dan has it all!!!! Technique, chops, fretboard mastery, and soul!!! He's not just playing but he's singing through his guitar!!!
RIP, Joey
man this is killin!
Jason Brown on drums is fun as well!
damn! Joey 's so good))))
dan is the man
Accord solo, single-voice lines, laconicism of the Grant Green and fast phrases a-la
Benson, but all this Dan Wilson! Bravo!!!
Vraiment des musiciens de génie ! oh, que c'est beau !!
I thought Bobby Broom and Grant Green jr were smokin’ players 🎸, but Dan’s a killer👍👍👍🇨🇦
Way to light ‘em up, Dan!
Yes Dan nice !
thanks for uploading!
rollin
damn! good group! not bad solos either!
Can you say George Benson?
I don't think he's anything like GB other than his picking tech.....he's.....Dan Wilson!
@@TheGreavette Agree he has his own style and of course George is George.
@@TheGreavette I totally agree!!
Buzz Roberts, definitely you can
is that Wes Montgomery back from the dead?
sounds absolutely nothing like montgomery, try pat metheny.

@@simonbeckford3025 more like Benson to me; even his right hand picking technique is exactly the same as GB s
its not George, not Wes, not Grant, its just the black guitarist thing that's how we sound.
you wish you sounded like that. tryin to take a brother's attributes because you got same skin color...shame on you
@@sebbo1496 Agreed that has nothing to do with skin color. I wish people would stop saying that because it starts racial wars on the internet.
I am black and I suck at it. Guitar world knows no colors. Either you have talent , or you don't and whether you put in same amount of effort, or not.
sounds absolutely nothing like any of those guys,, try pat metheny.
