  • Piping The Way full DVD filmed in 2008 follows renowned Bagpiper Stuart Liddell as he journeys across Scotland on the West Highland Way with the Inveraray and Districts Pipe Band Juniors as part of their team building exercise.
The film features beautiful Scottish scenery and fantastic bagpie performances along the way, and introduced by Scottish comedian Norman Maclean
Was never released as a DVD, so this is the only way to see it, unfortunately its only standard definition, but should still prove a good watch!

This combines my two passions in the world: hiking and piping :-). Such a cool team building activity.

“That signature tune that you hear in the background was created by one of Scotland’s foremost composers of pipe music [pause] after I wrote it, I had trouble deciding on a title…” 😂

Awesome video! I'm a piper myself, and I have had the honour of meeting Stuart on more than one occasion and I can honestly say he is one of the most humble people I have ever met. Never shows off his results or anything. Just plays the bagpipes. As my piping teacher and father tells me: "Skite through the holes of your chanter."

For a few years ago I bought a grant new set of pipes and after that, me and my lovely wife went off for a grand tour through Scotland. And everywhere we stopped for the night, I took my set to play a few tunes. Sometimes alone, sometimes with the locals, with a wee dram. Man......that was a amazing vacation!!
    Greetings from the Netherlands!

He's really a good piper. I always wanted to play bagpipe because of him and i love scottish culture but no one play bagpipe in my country and no one knows what it is. Now im in Australia and met a band that are willing to teach me 😊😊. I got my chanter and loving it,when I'm ready to have my bagpipe I'll get Stuart's McRae pipes. I wish I'll have a chance to meet you stuart😊

I wonder how many members are still playing in the band to date in 2020? Steve obviously is, but who else?

Very nice video! It is a pity that one can barely hear what the man says in the beginning because of the music background playing loud.

Starting at 18:53 he plays three 6/8s: "Dr. Ross's 50th Welcome to the Argyllshire Gathering," then a tune I've heard but whose name I don't remember, and then "The Hills of Glenorchy." Anyone know the name of that second 6/8?
