Great video! I was in Eastern WV a couple days after the storm. I was disappointed they plowed all the way up at 3,000 ft!! But it was still great time! Some of the forests roads got a little sketchy after the temp got up to 50 degrees! Thanks for sharing!

I truly miss this in my life....im 51 and fully retired because of a horrible car accident i was involved in on Sept 26 2020....The vehicle flipped 4 times..I was thrown out the sunroof on the 2nd flip...Landed 52 feet from the vehicle on I95 south bound..woke up 2 days later in ICU Head Trama....but im alive....vertigo and fatigue and back spasms are bad but one day I will return to nature...

I'd hoped you'd talk more about the winterization of the Alu-Cab. I do a decent amount of winter camping and I'm trying to determine how well the Alu-Cab does. I'm up in MD but come down to W.VA quite often in the winter.

I have an AT Overland Summit and a buddy with an Alu-cab Cannopy Camper freezes his butt off compared to the Summit. We switched for a night and I froze my butt off in his while he reported to be fine in my Summit. Summit has 1" honeycomb walls vs a layer of AL for the Alu-Cab. Weights are similar. Alu-Cab is much more affordable. With an AT Overland system, one must add the wing doors and solar run to the roof.
@@terrychrudinsky5663 The AT Summit is still single wall canvas in the sleeping area correct? I get that the lower part is insulated vs AluCab but don't understand how that would correlate to a better sleeping experience.
@@red6743 First off last year I slept in my camper close to 90 times (almost every weekend, 2 long trips, and a work schedule that allows for Tuesday and Wednesday outings). I have dozens of nights in the low 20s and below. You're over estimating the double layer canvas. I read that also and was surprised by my friends reports of being too cold and really surprised by the above real world tests by me a Summit owner and an Alu-Cab owner parked side by side changing vehicles between nights, the one sleeping in the AluCab was much colder. AT Overland also offers a Termal curtain kit that can be hung in the test area. I've seen videos and it is reportedly thick. There are reasons, those who actually winter camp with an Alu-cab Camper spends so much time insulating the shit out the Alucab. I'm surprised an after market company isn't making a Termal curtain for the Alu-cab. I'm sure one will come out sooner than later.
Note, I'm not saying the AT Summit is a better camper. I actually think the Alu-cab is the better camper minus the thermal issues. I'm about to get a new truck DCLB vs the DCSB and will likely get an Alu-Cab realizing I will be insulating it and likely building my own thermal curtain going into next winter, there are vids on line of people building them for RTTs. I am concerned how much weight the insulation will add to the system.
If wanted, I can do a write up on the advantages one have over the other. I'm about to buy so notes are current. There are other campers, I've not slept in them
@@terrychrudinsky5663 I felt a thermal curtain could be made out of a moving blanket decently easily. And seeing as they're pretty cheap at Harbor Freight, worth a shot.

Great video. Is there reason to worry about mold on or in your RTT during winter when it’s harder to air it out?
Nope, no worries. You should always prop open a canvas tent/camper when its nice enough out to air things a bit. We store our truck in a conditioned garage when not traveling so we just pop open the tent inside. Cheers!

Where does your dog sleep? I camp in my truck with a dog, and have been thinking about getting a canopy camper, but can’t quite put it together how I would get the dog in the bed.
Cooper often sleeps in the bottom but he also sleeps up top too. He helps when we left him up 🤫
What kind of speaker do you have mounted to rear door?
The insulation on your Alu-cab side panels... did you make them or buy them. I would like something like those for mine.

Ditch the metal dinnerware in the winter, plastic will keep your food warm for longer than a minute.
