I really like your video. If you don't mind, I'd like to share a bit of knowledge with you that can improve your use of ANY circular saw. The general rule is that you set your blade depth to no more than two blade tooth heights (approx. 3/8") BELOW the material that you are cutting. You will get a MUCH better cut on your material workpiece! The reason is that you are then exposing less of the blade surface to the work which in turn reduces the amount of friction being created. Try it (I think you'll like it)! Great video, keep up the good work.
Hi very well done. What is the difference between this saw and any other expensive track saw ? Is this a zero clearance saw ? Have you ever put an straight bar against the cut to see if there is any day light ? I would appreciate if you respond. Thanks
Just ordered one. Very good price! Been wanting a track saw but like you said the triple price just wasnt worth it. I have the evolution metal chop saw and love it!
Evolution make some nice tools, desined in britain and made by one of the best china mnaufacturers
Great video, and range of materials tested. I'm in New Zealand, we don't get the same brands, but I do have a comparable class saw and am looking at a carbide blade to cut 3/8 stock to make some track accessories out of based on ideas from Peter Millards channel. My idea is to rivet then braze with bernzomatic, maybe aluminum flat stock would be cost effective.
Will this saw fit on a makita/festool track?
Can you set the depth to be just below the material? It appears to be 2 inches low?
Yes cut depth is adjustable. I forgot to mention that in the video.
What about 45's? Does it have any anti tip clips or anything?
In the video it appeared that the diamond plate moved as you were cutting it.
Can you attach the 3 small sections to the larger aftermarket track?
I'm curious about how this saw would work on 1/4 - 1 /2 inch steel plate ?!! I spent several hundred dollars for my Milwaukee metal cutting saw. I'm surprised at the blade speed on this saw 3450 for cutting metal??!! I have cut 1 inch steel plate with my Milwaukee saw.
I have an Evolution multi material circular saw (no track). Cut 4 6x6 pieces of 1/2" plate steel like butter! I'm very impressed with the saw and blade, although be careful of the chips it produces. The top blade guard could use a bit more protection. I wore a face shield, no issues or complaints.
Can you put a regular 40 carbide tip blade on this machine I thought I read somewhere you couldn't put a regular saw blade on this
Not sure.
Yes. 20mm bore blade.
Hopefully of help to someone.
Very interesting video, thank you. I've got the 14" and 10" miter Evolution saws and I like how well they work. I'd like to see how well that saw cuts 1/4" and 3/16' plate steel. Thank you again for the review.
Ive cut 1.5 in aluminum slabs with my 9 in, also 3/16 steel.I just ordered 3 9 in multi material blades that was a gripe I had having to change blades for different material
Thanks for watching!
Glad that they put the 15amp on that hand held, the 10amp in their Chop saws can take little longer cutting through 1/8th steel.. This one cut through it very nicely!
Great point!
Evolution makes some bad ass stuff. I’m gonna buy the chop saw pretty soon.
Nice video, I love the idea of the evolution circular saw with the track but they should come up with a better track like a solid 5 foot track. I understand that manufacturing tracks that can ship in a small package is economical and practical for them but it's the very thing that keeps me from prying open my wallet for it.
Great point!
Evolution sell larger track kits, ST1400 which is two pieces that join to make a 4.5ft length, and ST2800 which is two pieces that make just over 9ft. Both kits come with 2 pieces of track, connecting bars, clamps and a carry bag.
Thanks!@@willholt100
Helpful hints set blade no more than a 1/4" deeper than material to be cut. Especially important when cutting metal. Saves the blade. Nice deal on this saw. When cutting expanded metal sandwich it between wood scrap. That'll leave both edges clean.
Great tip!
Good video for the saw.
I have been wanting a track saw but because of the price I have not purchased one. After seeing your video I did purchase the Evolution track saw. I just got it and have not used it yet.
Question, does the saw blade trim the splinter guide on the first cut. If so does it cut smoothly. Any tips on cutting the splinter guide.
Yeah it cut mine on first cut.
Looks like a pretty nice saw. Thanks for the review!
Thanks for watching!

My pleasure!
