Picked one up on Amazon for £130 128 GB. Perfect for streaming Netflix Disney iPlayer etc. photos and home vids reading news apps are a better experience than using my iPhone 13 pro because of the bigger screen. I cannot comment on games as I don’t play any. Definitely worth the money for me.
Thanks for the comment :-) Exactly. I use it to watch shows on Prime Video nearly everyday and it has no issues. If you need something to do simple tasks like that then it is a no-brainer!
I was wondering buying the 6 given the fact that a new is upcoming. Then after many videos I saw that it still had 60Hz like the mini 4 and the price difference is crazy. I bought an 128GB with cellular for 100 EUR for usage as gps in my car and mainly for reading articles and also for music storage. I believe it is an excellent choice for a range of 100-120 EUR.
@@chrisd997 If you don’t need the iPad for anything complicated, then the mini 4 or 5 is a great option, yeah. I agree about waiting on buying the mini 6 now, as it is very likely the 7 will be along soon. Cheers
I plan to use mine until it dies :-) It should do simple tasks like Books and UA-cam for a good while yet. Browsing might get tricky depending on Safari updates. It seems alright for now, and can always use a third party browser like Firefox.
Just bought 2 of these for my kids to play games on, my kids are 5 and 3 so won’t be crazy games, just kids games, along with watching UA-cam, will this do the job?
Thanks for the comment :-) It should handle that kind of thing just fine. If the games are in any way graphically intensive you may get a bit of choppiness, but they should run. I watch UA-cam on mine all the time so no worries on that front. Cheers
Thanks for the comment :-) I have used this iPad for Google meets and Facebook Messenger calls quite a bit, and while it does work, it can be a bit choppy sometimes. For a smoother experience on a budget, I would go for something like the iPad 9th Gen. If you really want to keep the mini form factor, the iPad Mini 5 has a lot more performance than the Mini 4.
Thanks for the comment. It would be ok for very simple or not very demanding games. The Mini 4 is getting on a bit now and will struggle with anything beyond watching media or simple document work.
Thanks for the comment :-) The screen on the mini 4 is noticeably better. They have the same resolution and ppi, but the 4 has an anti reflective coating, the colours are much more accurate. The 2 looks quite washed out in comparison.
Thank you so much, I have an iPad mini 2 and just by looking at it for 5 minutes causes my nausea and headaches which never happened with any of the other apple devices I own that's why I wondering if the screen on the mini 4 is better. Have you noticed any of these symptoms when using it?
@@chaoticMadnessx I’ve not experienced anything like that with iPads. Some people have trouble in moving vehicles. I would probably suggest a mini5 at this point, as it is a big improvement over the previous models in all areas.
I think that’s about right. It is less than I paid for it. Remember that this iPad is getting on a bit now, and will be good for watching content and simple web browsing. Not much else.
Thanks for the comment :-) If you absolutely cannot stretch to a Mini 5, then the 4 will work. It takes a bit longer to load things, and can be a little glitchy with Netflix, but it works.
The video i needed, thank you so much for this i found one used in good condition for about 80-90$ and im planning to just use it for reading and browsing socials when i travel because i need something smaller than the current 9.7 inch ipad i own and this seems like a good device for what i need, by the way how is the battery performance on it i usually carry a power bank around with me but just to know how long does it last with normal usage for you?
Thank you for the comment :-) I find it is great for anything that is not demanding. Reading books or PDFs is fine, and I often watch episodes or movies on it when traveling. The battery life is obviously not as good as when it was new, or as a newer iPad, but it will still do around 4 hours or so. If you can get one in good condition for a good price, then it sounds like it would meet your needs :-)
Thanks for the interesting video. For daily tasks I have started more using iPads over using my other Apple notebooks/desktops or Lenovo Windows notebooks. So last week and more out of curiosity I bought an “old” iPad Air 2 128 GB Wi-Fi/Cellular (which is basically the same as this iPad mini 4) in immaculate condition for just 79€. It came (with 1 year dealer warranty included) from one of these online refurbishment shops. Very pleased with it, even the battery of this thing is lasting me almost 6 hours including some video editing in iMovie and LumaFusion (4.0). Excellent purchase.😎 As an owner of an 11 inch iPad Pro M1 and a previously bought iPad Pro 9.7 which I still love and use because of the Apple Pencil, I was surprised to find out how capable and these older iPads are especially if you pick one up cheap. Your video made me want to buy a small iPad mini again as a travel companion, but I am no way prepared to lash out the money Apple is asking for the iPad mini 6. I will preferably go for the 128 GB/Wi-Fi-Cellular version, although this version is currently still selling for around 150€/180€ here on the Continent. My iPad mini version 1 (64 GB/Wi-Fi/Cellular) which I bought new at the time is getting a bit outdated now with iOS 9.3.6 it will not run Apple‘s Pages, Numbers, Keynote or Apple Notes in their later versions with their newer functions I require. Both the iPad mini 4 and the iPad Air 2 do as they are still supported by iPadOS 15 which is sufficient for my needs.
@@Cairol58 Thank you for the comment, and for the information. The only real downside of this particular iPad is that is doesn’t support Apple Pencil. This fact alone makes the Mini 5 a significant improvement, but they also seem to cost quite a bit more. I’m glad you liked the video :-)
@@IrensTech True, the missing Apple Pencil support is annoying but not the end of the world 😀. But I am not prepared to pay from 450€ or more for a 2019 iPad mini 5 256 GB (64 GB not enough for me) with WiFi/Cellular…

It can still run some titles at lower graphics settings (WoT Blitz for example), but it is not ideal. Minecraft should work, but it might not be that pretty :-) I hope it all works out well for you. For games, I would suggest looking at something a little newer. The Mini 4 will run simple games, but it will get very stuttery with anything slightly demanding.
Thank you for the comment :-) The battery life will generally last between two and three hours when doing something like a Skype / Zoom / Meets call. I would imagine a livestream situation would draw a similar amount from the battery. The Mini 4 is rather old now, and the battery has probably degraded quite a bit compared to when it was new. I usually use my M1 MacBook for this kind of thing, as the battery life is significantly better.
