I never knew how Fogerty played this, but I always played it in standard tuning with capo first fret, gives you all the fills using Key of A SHAPES. Works great even to the key change. Thanks for the great lesson!
Newly subscribed to your channel, your explanations are spot on and delivery is laid back. I also like your song selections...a lot of them take me back to AM transistor radios days. Thank you for all the time you devote to helping thousands of us out!
Your lessons are AWESOME.. after learning Proud Mary & Bad Moon Rising you had an example of Heard it Through The Grapevine sooo now I’m doing it on my own .. Thanks for all your lessons and support brother 💯💯
Thank you! I've wondered how Fogarty played this since I was twelve. I've worked up many other songs that are more complex, but I was too in awe of this one as a 12 y.o. to ever tackle it :-) Bravo!
Ever do requests? There's one nobody does on and I'd love to know a way to play it I know it comes off of a D minor I think? One of my favorite underrated Eric Clapton tunes I can't stand it. Just thought throw that out there cuz you do a great job breaking down so much good stuff.
That was smart, calling out the shapes to avoid, or lessen confusion. And, yeah, D Standard is good to call it - standard intervals. What a blast playing the right way on these tunes. Of course, if played in E Standard, singing will be higher, might sound like the Chipmonks!! Fanks. 😉
Another great video. Thanks for enlightening me on this John Fogarty tuning. I think last time by the Rolling Stones would be a good one for you to do. It's really interesting how the Brian Jones part works so well with the chords.
Man, I m 74 and. having a ball watching you play the things that took me forever to figure out in the 60 s and 70 s
Keep rocking Rick
Fogerty is a National Treasure!
Thank you for unlocking these Wonderful Songs
Probably my favorite CCR tune! But it's hard to choose from all their great songs. Thanks!
Thanks! I’ve wanted to learn this, especially the slide riff.
I went to and graduated from Tokay High School in Lodi, California back in the day. And yep, I'm a Fogerty/ CCR fan. Go figure!
Masterpiece from the summer of my years.
Really grateful gor these CCR breakdowns ❤
Excellent explanations!!!

Great lesson/ demo! Thank you once again TFC. 😉👌🏻🌠🌌🌅
Thanks for your great video on how this is played. I've always been mystified
how to play the rift .
Travelin band or Up around the bend would be good while you’re on the CCR subject. Another great lesson as always! Thanks!
Ramble Tamble by CCR may have some kind of D tuning, as well. Cool opening riff and a break in the middle that speeds up. Very psychedelic!😁
Great lesson, thanks. How about Carry On Wayward Son?

I was looking for a term to describe that phenomenon, 12 Foot Chain fits it to a tee!
Brilliant lesson again!
Really good video !! 👍👏👏👏🎸

Love the lesson, you do very good tutorials. I was wondering if you could do a lesson on The Magnificent Seven by The Clash?
Nice choice.

Can you please do run through the jungle
Like it. How about Jimmy Thackery's Cool Guitars?
That's a great lesson.
Also, can i ask what state youre from?
You seem more Canadian than American. Ha ha
From a Canadian up in Nova Scotia.
Live in Tennessee now, but mostly from west coast, WA and CA
Good lesson, the drop tuning makes a world of difference. Speaking of tuning, I think your guitar was out of tune - (string 5)?
Probably
@@12footchain Just an observation. And with that said, how many great songs were recorded a bit out of tune? Boatloads. And I'm no perfectionist.
@Phil F I'm sure tons. Starting with probably every rolling stones song maybe. 😀
Not quite right on 11:36 , the second beat is same as first beat and without hammering on.
Ever heard of notation?
My god, just play the song .
John Fogerty and Keith Richards have a similar guitar riffs...
It’s…gospel.
Too much talking about other stuffs other than the song.
No offense but watching your video is like watching paint drying.
ok, scroll on then my friend.
too much talking
Tu parles trop !! joue ..
HELLO, TOO MUCH TALKING , JUST PLAY FIRST THEN EXPLAIN HOW TO PLAT LATER ,,,,,OK ?
You talk too much.
