Am a Jamaican I know Kingston is the capital but everthing is always based there. some of the most beautiful places in Jamaica are not in Kingston. Jamaica is more than Just what people see in Kingston.
I love this! Think this might be my favourite from this series (don't really like the male announcer at the beginning tho). The producer, Ms. Codeine Williams, you tell these stories with the most pride and divinity.
For the people talking about her not getting interviews really don't know what they're talking about. She went about Shabba the wrong way at first but if you take it in. Shabba was already talking so she couldn't ask plus she probably doesn't know the protocol in the jamaica anyways. No journalist really does if you were trained outside of jamaica. It's all about knowing someone who knows someone. The camera crew interviewing Shabba was TVJ and CVM for OnStage which OBVS Shabba is already familiar with. Cut her some slack, dealing with Jamaican artists is never easy especially when they don't know you. They're skeptical of just about everyone. Also, Beenie was turning up in the club. Lemme see one of you walk into a club in the midst of someone turning up and ask them for an interview lool
i think popcaan left the gaza because its the opportunity that was presented to him at that time, to be independent, he didnt really leave the movement of gaza he only left the label that represent the gaza. He has shaped his own image in dancehall, and one day tommy lee will do the same thing, gaza is more of a boot camp in launching stars to the world and once they mature, they are released.
I agree with her...just because she dresses a certain way doesn't mean she shouldn't be respected. When they make these clothes they didn't put anything on them saying this is for sluts only. When celebs dress pretty much naked it's sexy but when a normal person do it it's slutty. why? REAL TALK
Bobby Lawson Just because you can't find it, doesn't mean it's not there. If I was able to find a steady hook up in northern Yukon I'm 100% positive you can in fucking kentuky.
Was waiting for the interview but anyways Poppy is a very goood artiste and he has a lot of good songs. Reasons yall not hearing them is because yall gullible and dont have mind of your own. The man haffi feed him family what should he have dun wait until Kartel come out of jail kmt. Poppy do your thing and continue to put out good music and tour and make the paper. Kartel a me artiste bt i respect poppy.
HHHMMMMMMM, first of all I just wanna thank Snoop Lion for his efforts in trying to capture our Jamaican culture from the Jamaican prospective, saying this to say, I have been in the USA for 1 year 7 months and 8 days and I am positive this this so called host WTF???? (can I say that) Have she ever gone to a hip hop affair, has she ever seen their code of dress for some of these strictly hip hop parties that's kept here? oh heavens help us, Different she says DIFFERENT?, I
she really didn't have 2 talk about how they dress. u respect ppl because they are human beings we don't have to go around trying to prove ourselves all the time to get respect. in cultures and societies where people don't wear a lot of clothes u think women get approached like "whores"? no. we've oversexualised the female body n even still! respect a woman's choice to dress how she wants. personally ive dressed like a homeless person n still got approached rudely.we always get treated like meat
These documentaries leave a lot to be desired. not eva a scratch di surface of real dancehall culrure. Basically its just someone wit a camera following papcaan and the narrator dont kno shit
What she mean by girls in Kingston dress provocatively UNLIKE US. She must’ve never left Jamaica before and is only speaking for what she sees on Disney Channel‼️‼️
This was a HUGE dissapointment. It's starts off good but then no follow up/comments of the statements, why? The clip don't show or say anything of importance past 2.52, nor does it really explore or dig deeper into the culture. That is what ppl need and what we expect! The whole clip just feels lame & empty, thought this would be the real deal and really expected more from this "doc". Hope you take notice and develop this! You have the resources so PLEASE do this properly or don't do it at all.
This series offers a lot of perspective, prior to my trip to Jamaica. It is appreciated.
The first noise with pop was nice till this day..seeing how proud his daughter was and humble about her father, that’s big ups…
Am a Jamaican I know Kingston is the capital but everthing is always based there. some of the most beautiful places in Jamaica are not in Kingston. Jamaica is more than Just what people see in Kingston.
