I am a 81/2x11 scrapper. I always scrapped 12x12 for years then started to change up. I do mini albums I have a daily journal and cards. I enjoy it all!!
I love journaling also! Do you add photos and decorate your journal or is it for writing in only?

I’m pretty much strictly a 12x12” scrapper these days. When I had my old scrapbook store, I did every size known to mankind, LOL. But now that I’m mainly scrapping for myself, I’m doing what I love, which is the 12x12”format.
The way some of you CDT Design Team members have shown how to turn these 8-1/2x11” into 12x12s is really helpful for those folks who started scrapping with that odd, original size of pages from the old CM world & now wish they could get everything into the same size 12x12” albums. They can take those old CM pages & turn them into 12x12s with these techniques you’ve shown throughout the week. I used to teach a class on exactly this & it helped out a lot of people!! If you get a chance to market the sketchbook again, I’d be sure to mention this!!!

Thank you for kind words. When I first discovered CM they were already 12x12, well not actually, they were slightly smaller so I have gone back and mounted my layouts on a 12x12 base sheet of cardstock. I do enjoy stretching the sketch and converting them do larger or smaller sizes.
Love this LO Erin, I do the same with my coffee I have it on the patio every morning in the summer and really enjoy it. I’m a 12x12 scrapbooker but I think this would be fun to do a cheer competition and soccer scrapbook for each of my 5 granddaughters. Thanks for sharing all the tips and inspiration with us all. Coffee is great on its own but when you enjoy it on the patio it takes it to a new level! I love your idea to create a cheer or sports album in this size for your granddaughters.

What a cute layout!!!! I love the colors in the paper pack--so pretty. The 11 x 8 is a nice layout. I can see it used for photos in frames--you are giving me tons of ideas. Maybe a photo framed layout to display by a 12 x 12 scrape book of the same theme--I'm thinking my beloved furbabies framed by their albums.

So nice! I’m a 12x12, double page girl for my grandchildren. But, I am working on a small book for my coffee table, full of funny and reflective statements about coffee!

I love your layout. The idea of adding it to a 12 x 12 was very cool. I have only done one 8 1/2 X 11 scrapbook. It was a bit of a challenge until I realized the pictures needed to be smaller. That size of album works well for small projects. The only one I've done was of a day trip to Churchill, Manitoba to see the Polar Bears. It was a day trip with lots of wonderful photos but not really enough for a 12 X 12 album. Also, a while ago I asked you for some advice using fabric in my daughter's wedding album. I wanted to thank you. When you said to think of the fabric as patterned paper it changed everything. I would love to send you a picture of the layouts but not sure the best way to do that.
I agree, printing your photos smaller or cropping them down makes smaller format albums much easier to create. Your Polar Bear adventure sounds amazing, I bet you had many beautiful photos. I would love to see your layouts, emailing a photo is probably the best way or you can share them through IG or FB messenger. All my links are in the description box of each video.
I always do 12x12 but I do like the idea of an 8.5x11 album and love your theme of favourite things. If I wasn't so behind on my other albums....!

This is a great layout! I love 8 1/2 x 11 pages and have several albums to use! Thank you for the reminder. I think it is a great way to use up small pieces or left over pieces from other projects. I spent a lot of time in my craft room today just shuffling things around, putting stuff away and I looked through my smaller albums. My things I love album is a 6 x 8. I'm using the Gray Stories I love album we used to carry!
It’s nice to spend some time sorting through, tidying up and enjoying your albums. 6x8 is a great size and I know I am going to enjoy this 8.5 x 11 too.

Great layout! I mix in 8.5x11 pages with my 12x12 layouts! I have over 25 unfinished projects! Only 2-3 are ongoing projects! Not proud of the other 20+ that need to be finished!

LOL, it was funny! I was imagining it to be like the telephone game, each time someone scrap lifts they add their own touch and pretty soon you can't even tell where it came from lol 😆
I love to scrapbook both 8 1/2 x 11 for everyday pages and 12 x 12 for special occasions like trips. I also love the idea of doing a book about your favourite things. Helps us develop more gratitude for what we have and leaves a type of memoirs for our children, their spouses and grandchildren. Love watching your videos - so helpful and beautiful!!

Love this layout! Lately I’ve been creating themed scrapbooks in 8.5x11-camping, Scouting,vacations, etc. It’s a great size. I also like the trick of mounting smaller pages on 12x12 cardstock to add to 12x12 albums. Some of my favourite pages have been done that way. Thanks for sharing. I hope you’ll have more process videos for 8.5x11 layouts on the future.😊

Used to only do 8-1/2 x 11 when I started as 12x12 didn't exist. They are also much easier to store, so many of my albums are that size and I am thrilled to get some new ideas!! I do enjoy 12x12 and other sizes and have unfinished projects in most sizes.
I started out with 8.5 x 11 also. I think I switched way back when more papers were geared towards the 12x12 size. I am enjoying this size for this album and it will be fun to adapt the sketches to a 12x12 size too.

Hip kit club has a coffee ring stamp. I can’t remember the monthly kit it was in , but it was a far size.

I've only used 8 1/2 x 11 for my pet books and one other scrapbook. I prefer 12 x 12
If you made me pick one size it would be 12x12 but I do think it's a great size for vacations and pet albums too.

What I’m seeing is you dont use a lot of tape on your embellishments
Is that just for the videos? I thought you needed to almost cover every piece of paper to stick to the page
I do cut out some of the adhering of the papers and embellishments to keep the video down to watchable time frame for all. You do not need to cover the entire piece with tape if you are using a good quality adhesive. For many of my embellishments I use glue too and you just need a small amount relative to the size of the embellishment.

I am a 12 X 12 scrapbooker who decided to buy three 11 X 8.5 albums when on special a couple of years ago to do my g/g/granddaughters photos in as they are all phone photos collected from my daughter & the g/kids on their f/b family page. I must have 500 or more photos by now as she is 4 years old & they are always taking pictures of her. So I am very keen to see how others design this size album because I quickly realised that it isn't simple as falling off a log. I had to laugh at why you chose to use a travelers mug as I also like to sit with my decaf in a insulated mug but for a different reason!! I like to drink my coffee reasonably hot but I also like to be able to take my time & not have to rush & so the insulated mug keeps the coffee hot much longer so that I can enjoy it over a longer period of time before I have to drink the dregs. 😄 Though in the warmer months I have been known to put it in the fridge & finish it off later chilled!😅
I think the trick to albums smaller than a 12x12 is using smaller photos so you can fit more on the page. You definitely have your work cut out for you with all those photos of your grandkids but what a fun and rewarding task it will be. That is funny you drink from an insulated mug too.
