I found you through Mr smelly and I have been enjoying your channel.

    Dear Chris,
    With all due respect in the world Chris, I wished and prayed that you’d include Paco Rabanne Pour Homme. Disappointed I am, but, you are Chris from the land of scent!Respect. I was born in 1981 and this fragrance ruled in my home along with Aramis and Givenchy Gentleman. Compared to the abysmal male fragrances today, Paco Rabanne pour homme in my opinion, is a benchmark aromatic fougere. All my love and the best to you brother.

    I'm not sure how the seventies and eighties are discussed in the fragrance community without mention of Polo original. I know it has been reformulated, yet, I continue to get many compliments from women of all ages. It still works fellas!

    How could you leave out one of my all time favorites, 1978's Azzaor Pour Homme? It's considered one of the all time best! That and the one mentioned below gave me some of the greatest female compliments I've ever received.
    I picked up the Denim Original aftershave along with Denim Black and Denim Fire here in the USA for about $2.99 per bottle a few years ago. What a bargain! I only recently discovered Lagerfeld Classic and I don't know why since I was wearing Lagerfeld Photo in 1990. I'm not sure why since I really go for the sandalwood scents. Maybe it was because in the 1980's I was too much into Chanel Pour Monsieur, Pierre Cardin Musk (my favorite musk of all time), Calvin Klein's Obsession, Polo Green and the next scent you've left out....
    Paul Sebastian for men (released in 1979). It's sometimes called Old Spice on steroids. To this day it's still strong although it was sold to EA Fragrances. Paul Sebastian also released another great one called VSOP that's discontinued. Along with Azzaro, I got the most compliments from Paul Sebastian.
    Any reason you left out Polo Green or you felt the 10 you chose were just simply better?

    Very enjoyable vid but where's BRUT by faberge? Or did that come out in the 60s? I was born in 1969 and Brut reminds me of Christmas when presents were seasonal boxes of "smellies" among my cousins and uncles. Nuclear strength in those days. I still use it as the splash type is cheap enough to throw around everywhere and puts me in the best mood. Squeaky clean

    • @scentland4753

    • @beavisbonce

      Scent Land I don't get why it wasn't included in your dozen. Though I might try Derrick on your recommendation. Recently I've bought Gucci guilty absolute. I tested around 20 latest scents in store in order to treat myself. Nothing came close and I paid full retail of £70. Naturally I turned to eBay for "unwanted present" backups at half the price. I never got on with Dior Fahrenheit for some reason, perhaps it tried to be too much alpha male. And this Gucci (I've never bought a Gucci since 2001) is not so much petrol and mechanic, this one is the scent of guns and oil. I love when ingredients are combined to make a real replica. That's the genius of perfumery. Don't give me just vetiver or honey or leather or lavender give me an emotion. Agree? I left a review of fendi uomo on fragrantica you might like to read. User 'beavisbonce' take care Chris and keep up the good work

    • @shave-a-thon3415
      @shave-a-thon3415 7 років тому

      Brut was introduced by Faberge in 1964 and in 1968 they released a Brut 33 line which was much weaker than the original juice. Faberge sold to Helen of Troy/Idelle Labs in the USA and Unilever for Europe who still issues it in glass bottles. There's one 25.6 oz. glass gift bottle of Brut made in the USA that's a pretty strong cologne. In Europe. Unilever added a Brut musk aftershave and edt along with other versions.
      There was a great Brut Dominant aftershave that was recently discontinued here in the USA by Helen of Troy. If you can get your hands on it, it's a very nice fragrance.

    Hi Chris, have you changed your opinion on Paco Rabanne Pour Homme? In this video you say that you don't like it so much but in more resent videos you choose it as on of the best PR fragrances and even have it among your all time favorites on fragrantica. I'm curious on what made you change your mind so drastically and going from "not liking that much to an all time favorite"? Best regards.

    • @scentland4753
      @scentland4753  6 років тому

      Very good critical point! Well, the reasons might be: when I used it in 2000, I was only 28, not ready for the juice yet and I used it at a time when life wasnt at its best. Iam more mature to wear it now. Also, as I state in my Top 3 Paco list, the formula has become more user friendly. So the combination of the two factors made me start to really love the fragrance by now. Love your comment! Cheers

    • @videyooz3800

      I figured it was something along those lines. I've had the same experience with the original Denim aftershave. When I first tried it I was 18 years old and didn't like it at all. Now, 15 years later, I love both the smell and the great confident feeling I get by using it. Thanks for clearing this out and I'm really happy that you enjoy PRPH as it is my all time favorite cologne and you're my all time favorite reviewer. I hope you enjoy life Chris, the wife, the kids and amazing time of spring. Take care my friend, and thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Sniff you later.

    Hello Chris, there is a flagrance what I would like to recommend to you to test and revieuw it. In the Netherlands where I live since 25 years I've discovered an Dutch aftershave what is never export to other countrys, it was always stay insite the dutch market. So it's really a dutch thing. It got the english name: "Fresh Up" and it was incredibly popular in the seventies here.
    I took it to the work and every older colleagues of mine knew about it. They were very surprised which you can still get it.
