For those who are waiting for that long comment that explains the message of the music video, well here it goes lol: As you can see from the beginning, the lead actors were often seeing each other. They had several dates right? Unfortunately, in the midst of their blossoming love story, hints of the girl's true identity popped out one by one. Firstly, she's wearing dark/sexy make up with a not so happy face, meaning something 'wrong' is bound to happen. Next hint is the man's arm who touched her shoulder signalling authority over her. Lastly, the most obvious of them all is the payment of that man to the girl in a secretive manner. Why would you pay someone like that if you're not doing anything wrong? So yes to end most of your conclusions, she is a prostitute. Some lyrics even describe a prosti's environment like the title itself, "Mga ilaw sa daan". C'mon, the music video already showed clubs, you'd be too oblivious if you're not aware of that. I bet you pictured Rotonda or any near clubs in your area 😂 by now. Also "Upang lapitan ang lasing na unti unting umiikot ang paningin", like do I still need to explain this? The depressing line for me is "Sulitin mo buong gabi, bago pa sumapit ang araw"; the lead boy was happy with the lead girl, both of them were not until she was gone, thankfully they somehow made the most of it in a short span of time. At the end, the lead boy texted her for another meet up but the lead girl didn't show up, because probably she can't face him holding the fact that she's a "bayaran". That is why the lead boy was left alone and lonely inside the bus when it used to be the two of them being in love there. I'm flattered if you've reached this far! Thank you so much for reading my own understanding of this music video. I'm one of this great band's new fans so I can't help myself but to help my fellow fans out there (and not just fans) cope up with the music video. Again, this is just my own understanding. years ago i realized the spotify version is different from this one. a missed masterpiece taking out the synths from the whole song, the bells at the last bridge, the end of blaster's guitar riffs being cut at some points, and the second voice about halfway into the song. i love this version better, there was more of a glowy, ominous vibe and effect that the extra sound design had on the entire song. it changed it entirely for its spotify debut, and i wish i knew why. i miss iv of spades and their mastery at songwriting, i wish the boys got more recognition and was more appreciated for it instead of the fame coming and going like a fad. this band is timeless and will continue to be. miss y'all.

For those who are waiting for that long comment that explains the message of the music video, well here it goes lol:
As you can see from the beginning, the lead actors were often seeing each other. They had several dates right? Unfortunately, in the midst of their blossoming love story, hints of the girl's true identity popped out one by one. Firstly, she's wearing dark/sexy make up with a not so happy face, meaning something 'wrong' is bound to happen. Next hint is the man's arm who touched her shoulder signalling authority over her. Lastly, the most obvious of them all is the payment of that man to the girl in a secretive manner. Why would you pay someone like that if you're not doing anything wrong? So yes to end most of your conclusions, she is a prostitute. Some lyrics even describe a prosti's environment like the title itself, "Mga ilaw sa daan". C'mon, the music video already showed clubs, you'd be too oblivious if you're not aware of that. I bet you pictured Rotonda or any near clubs in your area 😂 by now. Also "Upang lapitan ang lasing na unti unting umiikot ang paningin", like do I still need to explain this? The depressing line for me is "Sulitin mo buong gabi, bago pa sumapit ang araw"; the lead boy was happy with the lead girl, both of them were not until she was gone, thankfully they somehow made the most of it in a short span of time. At the end, the lead boy texted her for another meet up but the lead girl didn't show up, because probably she can't face him holding the fact that she's a "bayaran". That is why the lead boy was left alone and lonely inside the bus when it used to be the two of them being in love there.

years ago i realized the spotify version is different from this one. a missed masterpiece taking out the synths from the whole song, the bells at the last bridge, the end of blaster's guitar riffs being cut at some points, and the second voice about halfway into the song. i love this version better, there was more of a glowy, ominous vibe and effect that the extra sound design had on the entire song. it changed it entirely for its spotify debut, and i wish i knew why.
i miss iv of spades and their mastery at songwriting, i wish the boys got more recognition and was more appreciated for it instead of the fame coming and going like a fad. this band is timeless and will continue to be.
