I’m 45 yo and in my life BBC learning English has been a blessing I live being grateful to what BBC has done for me ❤
Sophie doesn't like hitting the dance floor, so she avoids throwing shapes at all costs. However, Miles, Sophie's friend, boogies like nobody's business and always tries to encourage Sophie to strut her stuff. Miles keeps telling Sophie that dancing is a release and can also help her brain. For a few weeks, Sophie has sat on the fence, deciding whether to dance. Finally, she felt a twitch when listening to pop music and started dancing. From then on, she has been boogieing ever since.
My story:
My grandmother ‘s going to reach her 80 next month, but she’s always full of vitality. She freaking love hitting the dance floor, she’s an significant inspiration to me to reach out of my comfort zone.Boogieing is also an effective way to me to release all my stress or anger.whenever my grandmother’s dancing , i couldn’t help laughing , how’s cute . I just try to suppress a smile , but my grandma still see the corner of my mouth twitch.especially , whenever i was sitting on the fence , my grandma always give me an advise that”just do what you to do” .
Thank you Neil and Beth for an amazing dancing topic ❤
thank you BBC
Thanks a lot BBC. Greetings from Mexico.
After giving birth, I spend most of my time taking care of my kids and my whole family, I haven't had much time to relax and care of myself, which leads me to suffer from stress.
Last night, when I passed the park next to my house, I saw many people throwing shapes, laughing so loud and talking with each other. My friend told me that was Mrs Huong's dance class. It was so interesting, I guessed they had lots of fun to get together and strutted their stuffs. Then I told my friend that I wanted to attend that class with them, but I didn't have time. I meant I still sat on the fence about giving the dance class a go. My friend told me A dance a day kept a doctor away afterwards. Finally I decided to enroll for that class.
At first, movements were quite hard for me. After few weeks, I did it like nobody's business. I felt like it was a release for me to get out of stress and it also helped me to promote divergent thinking, led to a happier and creative brain.
I have still joined the dance class at all costs. I go to the class at around 5 o'clock and at night, before going to bed, I open a random piece of music as usual, close my eyes, feel a twitch inside my body and just dance.
Thanks a lot BBC. Greetings from Taiwan.
BBC is getting better and better each day. Really helpful 👍👍👍👍👍👍😍
Hello panel! Im well-known and it's been extremely fascinating about knowing dance that certainly eversingle individual prefer " dancing" but in regular occasions each of us only think about it but when somebody else feel leisure and having unwind he should be prefer a dancing due to its releasing a sadness and certain displeasing upfront so when we stuck with an unhappy situation trying to get some breath out of us and go for a walk when we feel distressful condition eventually 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤
I appreciate that a lot.
Very much the new words, thanks!
thank you so much
It's been years since I last danced. When I was younger, around in my 20s, I used to go to discos to dance to different kinds of music, and remember having relished those moments. I stil do, but when I (try to) dance it feels weird because I seem to have forgotten how to move at all 🙃. So I prefer to play "Just Dance" and follow dance routines; for now it's eaiser than moving my body on my own 😂.
New phrases to learn, thanks
Thank a lot for knowledge
Thank you, Neil and Bath.

You don't like hitting the dance floor, but you do like singing, don't you, Neil?
Have you ever heard Neil sing?
@@bbclearningenglish Yes, I have! He sang in the episode of The English We Speak which talked about ‘eating your heart out’, and in a Facebook story, promoting the News Review episode about music improving maths! Also, I watched the Christmas carol video like 100 times last Christmas! However, you can’t hear Neil clearly in that one.
You have an incredibly good memory 😆 !
❤️❤️
a dance away keeps the doctor away :))) nice quote
Boggieing is a way to show your emotions. When i am dancing i release my stucked feelings. End of the i find my way, i get rid of my doubts. So if i am sit on the fence i just listen to a music and feel the rhythm. I slightly twitch my legs and danceee

Although Dr. Lovatt said " the very first thing to do, I would suggest, is to lay on your bed with your eyes closed.." I think 'lie' is correct verb but not lay, isn't it?
Yes, grammatically 'lie' is correct here but 'lay' is often used by native speakers nowadays!
@@bbclearningenglish thanks a lot
Actually I really love dancing
Because it gives me confidence
Hello
I usually sit on the fence when someone asks me to go to market for shopping.
I love dance
Great 💃 - we'd say "I love dancing" though :)
I love to dance, in the secondary School our music prof. Forced us to dance, he put some music and we had to dance all together just for some minutes, this Helped us to remove shyness or fear to do it. I never understood what that was for. I guess that this depend also from your culture and the family root, if yor parents use to dance you feel it like a norma thing to do, but the ability to feel the music in our body and move it accordigly with its rythm it is something you cannot learn, it is innate.
Thanks for the video! Unfortunately I also avoid the dance floor. I'm feeling embarrassed. I can understand Neil.
Dance lets spontaneous movement
I like dancing. I danced until 15 year.
I used to hate dancing because I thought that I've got two left feet, and many people said that whenever I danced, it looked like I was doing a dad dance, (or mom dance ?). After I listen to this episode, I'm going to take some dancing courses.
Enjoy! And don't worry about what other people think! 💃 🕺
I can't wait you till the next Thursday it's agony 😢😢

In my case, any chance I get I'll dance. I have felt the twitch through my whole life, maybe because I am from Latin-America
When I was young I also dance.In the school program, I got a first prize.But nowadays I don't do that.Because I'm not able to do that.😢
I am determined to fight my deadly illness at all costs.
We Say "Mover el esqueleto" Mexico😂
I don't like dancing, it helps you unwind maybe, but, if you are shy, its effect is the opposite, you feel ridiculous and harmless, in front of other people who look at you
Just dance !!! And dont care about them
I dont like dancing too. But it is because of being unskillful. Not shy. Btw i play guitar and it needs a rhytym too maybe alternative the dancing
Ignore others !
Same here. But sometimes I think if I was a good dancer I might be more confident to dance in front of others.
I didn't like it before and i was shy too,but trust me dancing is amazing if you try don't think about others.
I usually sit on the fence when someone asks me for dacing, bcz I feel shy as everyone around is looking at me, it makes me feel ridiculous.
