I'm liking omotea's synth rider videos more and more, it really just seems to let them go wild with their dancing. If I'm not mistaken that was a back kick at 3:13 and I loved it and everything it says about how you should REALLY play this game.

Normally, you have to match the song's rhythm and if you don't, it's the dancer's mistake. In omotea's case it appears it's the song's fault for not letting her dance to the fullest. Sometimes, she clearly wanted to reach out her arms to full length, but the target was too close for that.
