The owner of that beach land recently put it up for sale and the peopke are in fear that it will be privatized and used for a hotel development

The land and beach was recently put up for sale and the residents are fearing that a hotel will be developed on the land and they will loose access to the beach...

It broke my heart when I found out Alligator Pond is privately owned and is currently for sale. Whenever it gets sold, the whole fishing community will be kicked out of a place they've been living for many many years. There is a UA-cam video about it from the people who own it

It was hard to get the full history but I need to talk to a Jamaican historian. but it had no "owner" still doesn't but it was inhibited by the Tainos
