    There are still only 13 root servers. The reason for the limit has to do with the UDP packet size. Some roots do allow for an Anycast instance, but that instance is still the same IP as the primary root server that is being anycast’d. Speaking as a person that once ran L-Root for 3+ years

    way more engaging than my dns unit in network security at nyu in grad school. class was 6 grand. it was ok but this is better haha. good job!

      can you hire me? haha i have a physics degree from Columbia U and a masters in computer science. I took 5 cyber security courses when I was at nyu. i've done 72 tryhackme boxes, 30 hack the box boxes , 30 portwsigger labs I need to start working! haha thanks. I got an A in Network Security and Application Security

    The DNS and BIND book should be required reading for anyone working in IT. The amount of people that only have surface level understanding of DNS is astounding.

      May I recommend The TCP IP Guide by Kozierok? That is a comprehensive guide from no starch press.

    DNS is actually considered a centralized system. NOT a DE-centralized one.

    It's quite distracting having a different line of text running under the power point. Was this presentation adopted from something else?

      That's Closed Captioning text which comes from the Live Stream output on Zoom and can't be turned off. We hate it too. We've recently found a different way to send out the live stream to get around this for future webcasts.
