I think she's just as cautious (if not more so) than her brother. After all, her family was ruined bc of a rumor, she might want to eliminate anyone who can pose further threat. Also, she doesn't want to kill author rn, but she is ready for the seemingly inevitable betrayal. Preparing and expecting for the worst, as the saying goes.
