    Do you use any app to configure your eBike already?

    I updated my new eMTB with the Purion 200 and Kiox 500. It was mainly for riding to the trails navigation but the difference from the 300 is worth the upgrade i keep it on with the purion 200 its a perfectwee system having your speed and battery on the purion 200 and the info upfront over stem i now prefer it with the kiox 500 on! and they're cheap right now with overstocked items in bike shops selling them separately! I got both for £120 from mine a couple weeks ago! The Kiox 500 is a lot faster coming on and scrolling, and it plays sound for navigation through the speaker on the back!

    The range control is good i teated it out yesterday and the new screen picking for the purion 200 now direct from the app was definitely needed so that was good to see!

    I don't get why Bosch doesn't allow you to connect to your bike computer (Sigma (in my case), Garmin, whatever). Like this you always have to use your phone for tracking or navigation, draining the battery even faster.

      Even worse, why can't we connect two bikes to the same phone. Their solution is to delete one bike then connected the other one, it makes the security module useless.

      Watch the video. This comment makes NO sense. My Bosch system tracks and provides ride stats. You can download routes from kamoot, etc.

      Most (all?) sports tracking devices use Bluetooth and the Bosch system can already update Strava so it's a surprise they don't integrate across more platforms and devices.

      I mounted an Anker power bank to my bike since the app will drain the phone batt before a 2hr ride is over, esp in cooler weather.

    6:45 Without cell signal, nav is useless. Doesn't use GPS. Believe it or not some campgrounds don't even get cell signal! So then you have to use another app for nav.

      Definitely has something tracking thats 100% accurate as i have been testing this week with and without a connected phone As the system is connected to the phone 100% of the time you're on a smart system, so the Komoot, Strava, or Float navigation is all synced to the phone's GPS. You can fit the GPS tracking module to the motor yourself if you want to go that route. The option is available. Now, I don't have one fitted, and when I'm out and have my data connection off and come home and turn on the WiFi, all the data is then transferred to the phone from the system. There is something in there tracking your movements! It's 100% accurate. I have been testing it this week. It hasn't skipped a beat, leaving the phone at home with no internet connection at all to the system. When I come home and connect to the bike, I get a notification from Bosch telling me my tracking info is now available in rides! It absolutely, 100% tracked me, so yeah, it's definitely connected to something!
      I have got the update purion 200 and kiox 500 so will test my old kiox 300 next and see if that new display has anything new installed

    Is the smartphone grip required to use the navigation function or will the app work with the phone mounted on, say, a quadlock?

    The customisation of the modes is useful but the ride tracking *only* works well when you have decent mobile signal, which you probably won't if you ride anywhere outside of of a built up area. It's also useless if you own more than one ebike since you can only link one bike to your phone. All things considered, it's a rubbish app.

    • @stephenjobe883
      @stephenjobe883 2 місяці тому

      @davemcbeard I agree with the app only working with one bike at a time. Regarding tracking, it does use GPS for this. I use this app both in UK & across Europe, and it doesn't miss a beat, even in remote areas.

    • @davemcbeard
      @davemcbeard 2 місяці тому

      @@stephenjobe883 Interesting, mine seems to either lose connection with my bike or gets lost when it loses mobile signal. I understand it **should** be using GPS but there's something weird happening with mine.

    • @stephenjobe883
      @stephenjobe883 2 місяці тому +1

      @davemcbeard sadly, as an end user, we are at the mercy of global hive-mind app development, which can advance quicker than we can cycle 🚴‍♂️.
      Your issue could be the same as I have found. Older phones can find it a challenge syncing with the data.
      In the end, you know where you've been, seen & travelled.... we may look back one day and think, what a load of superfluous shite that was....

    The Bosch smart system flow app isn't that smart to be honest.
    I have a Trek rail with the smart system and the module you need to fit to enable the alarm and tracking will not fit unless you completely remove the motor armour and that voids the warranty.
    So the flow alarm system with tracking is a complete waste of time and does not allow all owners to completely use the system.

    • @goya_guru2570
      @goya_guru2570 2 місяці тому

      @@CarlosAntunesMTB you can't, unless your Phone supports guest user/multiple users, then you can register one bike pr user.

    • @goya_guru2570
      @goya_guru2570 2 місяці тому

      Turns out I was wrong.
      On phones supporting multi user/Guest user you can just use the guest account for the second bike. Samsung have removed multi user/guest user on newer phones, but you can set opp "secure folder" and put the Flow app in there to. I haven't tested locking and unlocking the bikes with the phone, but I guess it will also work.

    To be useful bikes should come with wireless phone charging systems directly connected to bikes own power. Everyone is stuffing bottle tool holders with usb power banks and sps connect type holders. Adjusting power settings is a bit gimmicky and academic when type approval limits exist. Americans may find it more useful.

      I put a Bosch smartphone hub on my electric gravel bike and it does exactly that. I love that my phone stays charged. Only problem is I forget this when I'm on my regular (non-electric) mountain bike and start using trailforks and my battery is drained before I realize it. Oops.

    7:35 Activity info is only basic. It doesn't show how much of ride was in what power mode for example. Doesn't show what gear. The caloric algorithm seems suspect.
    With all the deficiencies, what do they add..... CO2 savings. Yes, that was the missing ingredient for all riders! And don't get me started on the new AI for estimating range, it's crapolla.

    I am sorry but the Bosch system is hopeless for activity tracking since there is no internal GPS/GNNS sensor. It's extremely disappointing that they could release a system without this sensor. Even my Suunto watch from 2012 has an internal GPS sensor! Relying on a mobile phone is extremely unmodern and unprecise.

    Just got a Canyon Grizl:On and the bike is awesome. This Bosch system is horrible, though. The system won’t stay stable with my HR monitor. When it is stable, the HR data doesn’t upload to Strava and the Bosch ride info doesn’t keep it. The distance to empty info is never accurate.
    It’s nice to be able to tune the modes but the parameters aren’t very intuitive and have a huge impact on battery life. Lastly, when is the auxiliary battery going to be available in the U.S?
