    I really wanted to love the Mach X2, but 10k on my first run, it deeply sliced my left ankle. And yes, I was wearing ankle socks. I couldn't believe anyone could bleed that much from an ankle laceration. Couldn't even sell it on the second market because the bloodstains wouldn't come off even after a thorough wash.

    Interesting, the heeI comparison w Mach x2.: I sent ZF6 back largely because the heel / ankle collar is way too built up stiff, but I love the Mach x2, in all ways so much better than the ZF6. (I also sent back my Superblast 2, it felt like a pontoon boat!)

      Since you actually bought the shoe, can you answer if that ENTIRE triangle wedge is ZoomX? Or does the plate run straight through the middle of that wedge making the entire bottom section of the triangle (the majority) SR02 and only the top half ZoomX? There actually appears to be relatively little Pebax in this shoe if that wedge isn't 100% ZoomX. A good bit is optical illusion cause they're using the already minimal ZoomX layer for sidewalls too. Looks less than 20% Pebax if that midfoot wedge isn't all ZoomX.

    • @Curt-o8h
      @Curt-o8h 2 місяці тому

      @ I really couldn't tell you, I don't know how to tell the difference by looking at the two foams. I can tell you how it feels; which is that the initial cushion feels comfortable and soft (in a good way), and below that (what you feel when you press deeper in while running) the cushion feels more firm but with little energy return. I don't love the lack of energy return / bounce from the firm stuff, especially with that much stack

    Been eyeing on this for dedicated long run and speed session shoes, and possibly half-mara race shoes. Im M27, 5'9", 158lbs (174cm, 71kg), training 35-42 kpw with Pegasus 39. My longest run is 24km at 6:19/km, 5K PB at 26:15 (5:15/km), and fastest 1K at 3:40/km. Currently aim for sub 1:55 half mara and sub 4:10 marathon. Does it suitable for my figures and target?
    Plan to build 2 shoe rotation with Saucony Ride 17/Asics Novablast 5 for daily trainer, and Zoom Fly 6/Saucony Endrophin Pro 4 for long run and race day shoe. Looking for shoe that build like a tank and could rack up 350-400 miles since im on budget.

      @@philipppuchner1115 could it take 25-35km long run? I've tried ZF6 on treadmill twice in the store and agree its a fun and nimble shoe. Bit confused with the sizing bc usually had US9 in pegasus, but in ZF6 US9.5 still a lil bit tight on lateral side, but the US10 a lil bit too loose haha

    • @philipppuchner1115
      @philipppuchner1115 3 дні тому

      @ Since I haven't done something like that myself, I cannot tell you if the ZF6 can handle up to a 4h Marathon.
      Depends on your weight and impact also maybe, if bottoming out is the question here, but with your 71kg I wouldn't worry!
      The zwo Sauconys will hold 300-400 miles at easy, maybe up to double that!
      NB5 maybe less (less than that double of 300-400 miles), but with your weight also maybe 500. There is no info from real world runners out there because the shoe was released on 1. dec 2024.
      What sizing is concerned:
      MY FEET:
      narrower side, ägypt toes (first the longest, then shorter every time), fat big toe!, normal arches, very low instep, very low volume, very low volume heels, neutral stride,
      * left: EU 44-44,5 / 27,5 cm,
      * right: EU 45,5 / 28,4 cm,
      I have all Asics in EU 45 / 285mm and I am right at the end, but it is ok. Just in the Noosa Tri 14-16, an old GT2000 and in the Magic Speed 3 I need the next half size larger, which is EU 46 / 290mm.
      I also use Brooks Ghost Max, Hyperion Max and Hyperion GTS in EU 45 (all of the 3 shoes are the first version).
      Saucony EU 46, but Kinvara 14 I ran in EU 45 - right at the end, but thin material, wide toe boxes and soft material and it was no problem. Ride 17 i just got 2nd hand also in 45.
      Triumph 20 Runshield and T21 I also have 46, but never tried them in 45. Tempus in 45 is definately too small! Speed 2+3, Pro 3 and Axon 3 I have in EU 46.
      Nike Zoomfly 6 in 45,5. Tried 45 first, barely fits lengthwise, would maybe be ok when it is just lengthwise, but the big toenail pressed against the upper way too uncomfortibly and I choose EU 45,5 and all was gone. The shoe is meant to be tts and for me it is absolutely.
      For my low volume feet I have to do my laces quite carefully to make sure they fit snug enough.

      Love the Hyperion Max 2! But somehow…magically because this is normally not how this works…the Zoom Fly is actually more forgiving on my slightly wider foot. The Hyperion Max 2 will give me pain on the lateral side of my foot I just have to run past until the shoe gives in a little. The ZF feels fantastic, and accommodating without being big. I’ve never said that with a Nike before.

    280km in these and already thinking of retiring them. some runs they feel bouncy and fun, some days they're like boulders strapped to my feet. maybe the foam is sensitive to temperature or something but this wasn't an issue when i first bought them. they're also very unstable around corners and bumpy roads, i've had lots of close calls and one actual ankle roll resulting in swelling in these, which is a problem i've had with no other shoes in the past. hoping the superblast 2s turn out to be better value in terms of how much mileage i get out of them for the price

      @@andydevinewinedue to Sagasu Running the Evo SL makes the Boston 12 and the Adios Pro 3 obsolete.
      It is the better Boston and since the foam is the same in the Evo SL and the Pro 3, it is quite similar, just the Evo SL doesn't have the rods which makes the ride smoother but the Evo SL has a way better upper than the Pro 3. Not super, but way better.

My training partner, who is much faster than me, also uses the Invincible V3 as his hill day shoe with great durability.
