On April 19, 1990, I received a donor liver. I was a young mother of four. The youngest 18 months old. I was dying from a rare form of cancer and my transplant was the last hope I had. It worked. @@crmwilliams5116 Yep. So, I didnt have enough bone on the roof of my mouth to protect my sinuses, or hold implants. I received donor bone that was implanted under the flesh on the roof of my mouth. After I was discharged from the hospital, I was going through all my papers & I found a letter that had a return envelope attached, with a bar code where the return address usually goes. The letter explained I had received some bone from a donor, & that although the donors identity would remain confidential, that I was welcome to write a letter to the donors family (if I wanted) & say thank you & whatever else I felt appropriate. It was strange because I knew I was getting "cadaver bone" long before the actual surgery, but it selfishly never even crossed my mind that the bone they were implanting, actually came from a previously living, breathing person. I hadnt really thought about where the bone was coming from, but I remember thinking it was maybe from an animal. Anyway, sorry for babbling lmao

@@Idsih I just wish they had honor walks back when my nephew became a organ donor. It's still so hard to accept that precious boy is gone 😪 😔
@@pattyhaley2949 i also wish they had them then ♡ im so sorry for your loss ♡
@@Idsih thank you for your kindness. I try to honor him by telling others about becoming a organ donor. God Bless the donors and loved ones who make such a courageous decision during a time of extreme grief. . I know my Sweet Joshua would say it's okay Mommy, I'm helping to save others.
I'm so very sorry for the loss of Joshua.
Such a selfless thing to do. Rip beautiful lady 😢💔
God Bless her Soul and her Family
A beautiful honor walk. She was so young. Beautiful. She gave the gift of life to 3 people. So so sorry for her family. She's your precious Angel now. Watching over u.😢😭💜💜💜
A walk of love I think it is a wonderful gift to the gifting family they walk with hope for others even in their Greig I honour them and bless them as they go with god without their special loved one. A nurse but did not have experience with donation it would have been Avery special part of my theatre years, special sympathy to family and friends of a beautiful sole who forever lives in your souls..
I am a organ and tissue donation list may the Lord look after this young lady in heaven and Lord protect this lovey family .amen
Prayers to the family for thier loss and what a blessing in this horrible tragedy to give life.
How beautiful. SHE was beautiful. I have always been a giving person and how I wish that I too could donate organs, however I have metastatic breast cancer that has traveled to my right lung so I am not a candidate for a donation. My time will come sooner than what I had wished for, and when it does, if possible, I will donate my eyes which are big and blue. Hopefully it will give someone the gift of sight.
People can donate not only organs, but tissue, eyes and blood of course. Hope you are continuing the fight friend. Sending prayers ♡
@@crmwilliams5116 Thank you!
