    This fellowship has nothing to do with God and real Christianity. Most of them do not develop intimate and personal relationship with God. They just focus on evangelism, preaching and being good person. But I am afraid that Jesus will tell them words like in Matthew 7:21-23 21
    “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
    How can they do the will of the Father if they do not hear His voice and how can they hear if they do not develop personal relationship with Him?

    Hatred and bitterness cause tension in the body, which can cause stress damage, which can lead to illness. Nothing metaphysical about it.

    I'd love to watch a documentary where they ask these people weeks after their suppose healing and see if they still are. Coming from the church, it's just never taught about.

      The thing is, if you were to ask alot of people, they might tell you they are healed, because lots of these churches pray that your miracle is going to happen but if you speak doubt or think doubt it's going to cause the miracle not to happen, so they may say they are healed because if they say they aren't that's doubt and the healing won't happen.

    When laid bare like this, it becomes clear how disgusting and manipulative it all is. The level of victim blaming is off the scale. It's funny how these "demons" will afflict the molested, but not the molester.
    Another problem is that if someone gets prayed for, claims they were healed, but the ailment returns later then it's seen to be their fault. What's never questioned is why an all powerful god can't heal someone permanently, and that if the "demons" can return, then that makes them more powerful.
    Finally 9/10 people who go up to be prayed for aren't going to say it didn't work at the end of it. Not only do they WANT to believe it worked, but there is too much psychological pressure for them to say otherwise.
    These sort of preachers are truly the scum of the earth. It sickens me that they make a living by exploiting vulnerable people like this.

    I hate what this church does to people, as a gay man, I hated myself for most of my teens and young adult hood. I couldn't understand why, if being gay was so bad, why I dealt with it and other people didn't, what did I do to be cursed with this? Worst of all, if it was so bad, why wouldn't God heal me of it? Non stop praying and fasting for ten years and I never saw any relief. I see other guys in the church today that I know for a fact are gay, but they are just like me at that age, they hate themselves and are certain that God is going to take it away from them and make them straight. They will waste their entire life chasing after a healing of their sexuality that will never come, they will marry a girl, hoping that having sex with a girl will make them finally like girls and make them stop liking men. It's a tragedy, and I really really hate to see the suffering it causes them, hoping every service that the pastors are gonna lay hands on them and they're gonna be able to lead a heterosexual life. It's miserable, it wasn't until I finally accepted myself and came to the conclusion that there was nothing wrong with me, that I found happiness. That took alot of bravery and honesty, but so many of these guys will never be that brave, they've built an entire life upon the lie they tell themselves and other people, and they are doomed to spend the rest of their lives hating something that is totally normal and a beautiful expression of the diversity of the human race.
    What I hate the most is even after being out of the fellowship for years and rejecting everything they teach, I am still scared of what's gonna happen after death, truth be told, if I was about to die, I'd probably pray the sinners prayer just in case. I simply cannot help but to look at things through the lens of my upbringing in this fellowship.

    This "It is your own fault if you are suffering" mentality seems pretty similar to the reincarnation teachings:
    They deserve the affliction they got, it clearly proves something is wrong with them and you do not need to feel sorry. If you do feel compassion you are all the holier knowing what scum they are.
    Different religions but the same need to explain why there is suffering in the world and make the majority feel righteous about themselves.

    Great series. You did well to escape Mitchels madhouse. It's still a pity to see so many well meaning gullible folk get ripped off by this con man and his over dramatized, emotion tugging, carnival illusions.
    Why couldn't Wayman the Shaman faith heal my sisters worn out hip? After all, she's been a loyal follower of Waymans cult, as a pastors wife, since the early eighties and still is. Nope, the faith healing and praying didn't work. Jesus wasn't listening. Not until she finally sought medical help did she eventually get her worn out hip replaced, courtesy of medical science, through medicare, did she finally receive relief and improved quality of life. No prayers required. Can she bring herself to pay credit where credit is due? To the medical profession, govt and the tax payer? No way. The only thing worthy of thanks in her kidnapped mind is, You guessed it, Jesus, the spirit who wasn't there and wasn't listening to her prayers because he doesn't exist.
    The theft religion commits when it steals credit for things it doesn't achieve and steals power from secular successes then hands it to carnival tricksters such as Wayman O Mitchel, the destroyer of families, is an absolute shameful evil disgrace.

    • @Discern4
      @Discern4  10 років тому +2

      lol Wayman has upset so many people. Not long after I left, I realized how I didn't like the person I was in that cult. Judgmental, self-righteous, no genuine compassion for outsiders, naive, always made to feel guilty for every little thing. Ugh, what a frickin mind trip.

    • @philhmp4231
      @philhmp4231 10 років тому +2

      +Discern4 I know what you mean. The guilt trip he puts people through is shameful. He pours pure poison into fresh converts to make them constantly on guard, suspicious, distrustful, judgemental even hateful towards family and friends outside the cult. His poisonous brainwashing changes poor unsuspecting young converts overnight into mindless, poison spitting zombies. He totally crushes peoples self confidence and individuality and suppresses their personality to a mere frightened none thinking shadow of their former selves. Nobody can get through to them, not even family. He's evil the way he cherry picks toxic scriptures to serve his desire for power and control over his frightened obedient sheep. Most insidiously he couldn't care less how much he damages even destroys families and friendships with his poison.
      He's not preaching wisdom or peace. He's preaching exactly the opposite, dark oppressive ignorance, insecurity, confusion and hatred.
      He and his ilk are the epitome of evil in my book.

      @philhmp4231 9 років тому

      +aquaviva923 That's where you're wrong. I do accept responsibility for myself, for my beliefs, and for my actions.
      I learned along time ago that to try and blame someone else, Jesus, for the mistakes we make is actually highly self debilitating, counter productive and cowardly. Demonstrative of a weak, self delusional, irresponsible mind. Why? Because the mistakes we make provide us with important lessons to learn, grow and provide valuable opportunities to mature into much better people than we once were. So when we try to brush off our sins onto someone else, we actually freeze our own growth. We deny ourselves the knowledge and the foresight to avoid repeating the same sins, mistakes, pain and set backs, leaving ourselves open to repeating the same mistakes, hurting more people we encounter through life and causing more grief for others, which often falls back on ourselves.
      Sadly, The Christian doctrine of vicarious redemption, or scapegoating, cancels that opportunity for real personal learning and growth. It's replaced with shallow short term false comfort with a false sense of pretend piety and hollow self forgiveness. Sadly, we don't get forgiveness from our real victims, who actually deserve our heart felt apologies. No sadly we re-direct it onto some mythical spirit entity that only exists in our imaginations. It's a pretend false forgiveness and an invalid, immoral unburdening of our bad consciences. We avoid apologizing to the people who matter, our victims and the people we love. It prevents us from developing the personal courage we need to admit we were wrong. Courage required to bravely apologize to those we may have hurt or offended.
      Sadly this immoral idea keeps many of it's followers in a perpetual frightened child like state of mind. Afraid to think honestly for ourselves. Frightened to ask deep meaningful questions in fear of offending either our Pastor, Jesus, God or which ever deity we might believe in.
      As for Salvation. No Priest, Pastor, Holy book or theology as ever provided any empirically testable evidence for the existence of any gods, demons, heavens, hells or any after lives. All religions and all holy books have, are hollow assertions, rude patronizing insults to human integrity and scary threats of eternal torture if we dare learn to think for ourselves about the true nature of reality. Nasty insult to human integrity when people rightly refuse the mental mind shackles that religions force on people. It's a nasty way to treat people. Religions that insult people don't deserve respect. They deserve ridicule. People can survive and thrive without religion. Whereas religions can't survive without adherents.
      In the absence of evidence, all religions ever stress is 'Faith'. The worst reason to believe anything. We must force ourselves to believe that which is not self evident. Religion forces people to deny hard won truths and facts, then replaces them with old discredited primitive myths and misleading, emotion tugging, fairy tales. Religion denigrates naturalism, which is actually all that we do have and rely upon for our very existence. Religions have to invent crazy notions of 'supernaturalism' (Un- naturalism) for which there is absolutely zero evidence for. Religion forces us to lie to ourselves and, more disgustingly, convinces it's followers to lie to others, including impressionable trusting children, to make them believe that which is not self evident and that which doesn't deserve to be believed. In fact, bad ideas that are often harmful to believe, as with the dishonest faith healing done by the charlatan Mitchell. Illusions done to satisfy his lust for power and wealth over his naive gullible flock. No actual cures performed at all. If his faith healing truly worked then why doesn't he heal amputees, or heal clinically blind or deaf people? Why? Because he can't heal anyone and he knows it.
      If I was to perform his carnival tricks on the needy, I would hang my head in shame, knowing full well they are nothing but entertaining slight of hand con tricks done only to amaze and deceive his gullible audience. No actual long term benefit at all for the sufferer. He's cynically and cruelly exploiting gullible desperate people who actually need valuable advise to go and seek real medical attention. Sadly, medical attention they often can't afford, because they've wasted their hard earned income on tithing to his corrupt money grabbing cult. But will will he provide the advice they actually need. Of course he doesn't. All he does is spin them lies and carnival magic tricks to feed his evil uncaring heartless ego and bank account.
      If you think these faith healers are fine righteous moral man then I serious question your moral compass, and I feel sorry for you.
      This is why religion is evil. It empowers the deluded and the charlatans to carry on harming people, humanity and the world, with lies and bad ideas.

      +aquaviva923 Why are you dumping all your sins on some dead Jewish carpenter? Running away from your responsibilities hey? Well sadly in the process of running away you've fallen into the trap of a toxic mind controlling cult that has you chasing your tail with confused made up primitive circular and contradictory biblical fairy tales. All written by anonymous authors with political agendas to control the masses with fear of spooky imaginary spirit gods, demon, heavens and hells that they didn't know anything about.
      Just like you. All pretending to know the unverifiable. Your silly preaching is nothing but you hiding your ugly personal prejudices and dislikes behind some pretend authority that you can't prove ever existed. You have nothing but empty "Faith". Faith being the worst reason to believe anything without evidence.
      Do yourself a favour. Put the toxic mind numbing bible down and get a life before it drives you completely insane.
      ps. I bet you won't respond to these messages because you're too cowardly to leave your religious crutch and face reality.

    • @philhmp4231
      @philhmp4231 9 років тому

      +aquaviva923 Yet again you have things backwards. How can I be accused of hating a mythical character, who allegedly died 2000 years ago? It doesn't make one iota of sense. Now if you're interested, I tell you what I really think about Jesus the biblical character.
      From most accounts, Jesus seemed like a nice, wise, caring and compassionate man. A man who accepted and loved everyone, including the outcast, the prostitutes, the gays, the down trodden, the diseased, the afflicted and the ones you hate the most and take great glee in accusing of being, without actually getting to know, the so called sinners. The Jesus I admire is the one who walked with all sinners and the outcasts while preaching against the self righteous preaching hypocrites and those who lusted after money and power over the poor. Now that Jesus has much to aspire to.
      On the other hand, if your talking about the warrior type Jesus. The one who it's said "did not come to bring peace, but came with a sword" or the Jesus who it's claimed performed magic carnival tricks, such turning water into wine, Or casting spells and curses. Well that warring trouble making warlock illusionist Jesus does NOT deserve respect. Sadly I suspect it's the latter magic warring apocalyptic Jesus of whom you're worshipping. It's the warring, spell casting, cursing, people hating Jesus who you're serving and preying will, soon, wreak vengeance and eternal damnation on those who don't accept your bitter and twisted view about the evil sinning humanity, as you accuse every non Christian of being. Including rational decent people who have enough intelligence to resist being seduced by the silly childish irrational magic biblical nonsense.
      Yes. Give me the compassionate, caring, community minded, advocate for the poor, Jesus any day, and Yes, funnily enough, he does sound rather like, what you despise as, a socialist. Whereas, you can keep your warring, wrath full, vengeful, humanity hating, capricious, apocalyptic tyrant Jesus all to yourself. That Jesus is not worth the time of day. But sadly, it seems, it's the latter Jesus you're in love with, of which BTW, says more about you than it does me.

    Really nice to have another set of videos from you, although if I may make a personal request (other people may disagree, and if they do, feel free to disregard me): I feel that you use a few too many clips, especially when they get repetitive. I get a bit irritated hearing some preacher walk somebody else through a very similar prayer thrice over. Then again, I'd find it unpleasant enough the first time.
    I'm curious: did people ever answer "nah, it didn't help, but well, nothing does, had this for twenty years after all?" Plus, no matter how much elation may make you oblivious to your pain for a moment, it never dulls your limp in the slightest. I'm surprised any church could keep something like this up, just by virtue of how obvious the failure rate would be to those being "healed."

    • @Discern4
      @Discern4  10 років тому

      I think they get enough healing 'hits' that it takes people's minds off the misses. Yes, there are people that will say on stage that they're still in pain. The pastor will usually pray for them a second time and if there's no change, he'll tell them to keep praying at home.
      These people are so desperate for proof that God touched them, that if they think the pain subsides even a tiny bit, they'll think God did something. They will still chalk that up to a hit.
      As for the video clips, I guess people could skip over them, but they provide proof that this is what this church teaches, and that I'm not just making it up or exaggerating. Each clip was placed to provide evidence of what I had just spoken about (curses, objects, emotions, hatred of husband, etc). Having the full scenario also lets people see it in context, especially for those that have never seen stuff like this.
      I've dealt with a lot of these church members since leaving, and amazingly, they will deny that the Fellowship does this or does that, unless you hit them over the head with a video or sermon clip. Like I mentioned in the first video, some members denied that he speaks against physiotherapy. Well there's the proof.

    • @Dabordi
      @Dabordi 10 років тому +1

      Discern4 Really appreciate the thorough answer. To follow up on the first half, I'm quite the chronic pain sufferer, and after anything that might effect it (be it injections, medication changes, surgery, or what have you) I usually give myself a couple of weeks before I actually declare whether it helped or not. If I let every lucky day or momentary distraction get to me, I'd probably be proposing masturbation and dental work as the top chronic pain treatments. It's really the sort of thing you have to grow a bit jaded and methodical about when you're looking for improvement.
      For the video clips - I actually wasn't expecting that answer. I often forget that, despite there being masses of atheists who watch these sorts of videos for a bit of extra information and amusement, there's still a rare but vital bit of worth in keeping them extra clear to believers. I'd never think to say you're lying on such matters myself, and find it just a bit depressing that someone might.

    In the future, when the pain returns, they'll have a reason - their "hatred of men" or similar is back (and it's their fault) - and won't blame the preacher or religion. That plus the preacher's use of closed questions is relatively clever for preying on the ignorant superstitious plebeians.

      In all scientific peer reviewed studies I've read, there's no significant healing other than possibly feeling more positive. I myself believe there's always hope. I do think some sincere pastors watch the frauds and figure it's worth trying as long as they still receive medical care.

      Mark Lugg "do any of these faith healers actually think they are doing real healing?"
      Oh definitely. The preachers I've talked about definitely believe God is using them to heal people. They have no doubt.
      Any time researchers do a survey on prayer or healing, their negative results are quickly dismissed by this Fellowship. The reason is because the surveys are usually done on christians in _other_ denominations -- eg, Catholics, anglicans, United Church, etc. So straight away this Fellowship would say, "Of course their prayers didn't work, because they're not really saved, their rituals are unbiblical (sacraments, rosary), they have no genuine authority (cross-reference Seven sons of Sceva), they carry idols around, so God isn't going to use them to heal the sick."
      I'd be interested in a decent survey on prayer/healing done in pentecostal churches alone. That's the only kind of survey this Fellowship might take a second glance at. Still, even if there is one, it's hard to fight people's own testimony that they've been healed. Above all else, they'll just say "Well God healed _me_" or the pastor will say "They said God healed them, I can't argue with that."

      I'm not sure what you mean by a church hangup? The leg growing thing was popular among evangelical churches for a while, and still persists in certain pockets of christianity. Personally I think it started as a scam by fake preachers, and the practice was then adopted by believers who thought it was legit. I talk more about this in ua-cam.com/video/YFw8sdlAB6g/v-deo.html

    The idea that the sins of the flesh, ie bitterness, hatred, anger, witchcraft, etc are the root causes of certain physical ailments is quite consistent with the overall theme of God's Word. Nevertheless, how one is delivered from the sins of the flesh and possibly healed is not consistent with the practices of this church. Simply read God's Word and trust in what it says about Christ and you will find your deliverance more often than not. This cult of personality type of practice in churches makes people dependent on the preacher more often than it does on Christ Himself. Notwithstanding, all that they are doing here isn't terribly wrong, simply misguided in my opinion. God bless them for their continued work, after all, God Himself is the judge and His Word our foundation. God bless

    • @Truth537
      @Truth537 6 років тому

      By the way, you cannot cast out hate and bitterness, you can only be forgiven for harbouring it and have the blood of Christ cleanse you of it. Nowhere in God's Word does it talk about casting out hatred and bitterness. Rather, we are to put to death the deeds of the flesh by the Spirit.
