Why were you not being pulled up again by the elastic rope in the bungee jump ? I did mine in Queenstown NZ in 1998 and remembered the scariest part of the bungee jump is being pulled up again for a second descent and third until the elastic ropes finished its job.
They don't give you a chance to talk yourself out of it. They keep you moving while giving you instructions and before you know it you're jumping. Great system. Thanks for watching.
