    What do you call the reining competition shown in the first part of this video in Spanish? I love watching it, but I am not sure what it's called. Also, whenever I read about escaramuzas, they only mention precision riding in formation. They never mention a reining competition. Is that a normal part or is it just found in some cases?

      I guess its a normal part of escaramuza.

      Hi NIcholas, Yes we do have (reining) (punta o cala de caballo) competitions, thouse competitions were promote for a Charro from MExico City, then since the ladys group are big they took to long so they decide to do just the cala and they team choose who they want to perform. But let me tell you something that you might not know reining was copied from the charros. Reining was brought to USA around late 70 or 80 from a group of Charros who were going to college in Mexico, they were paid for the Federacion Nacional de Charros to promote the sport in USA.

    this is incredible....how long do you train a horse for this? and how long do the riders train? how many times a week do they practice as a team?

      It doesn't take that long. Well then again it depends on the rider. Like honestly its my 2nd day training and the last time I was on a horse I was 2. And they are already saying that I am ready to do it. But it takes a lot of work and determination

      +Fernanda Jauregui so would you say its never too late since im 19 i know how to ride horses but i haven't done it for a while.?

      Lonestarcowgirls. I used to be part of a team and I am very proud to say that I was a part of a National Champions.
      Like any other thing in life it depends of your natural abilities as well as the time that you want to put on it. Most teams gather 2 or 3 times per week. The more that you practice the better that you get.

    This is nice but then again yea the horses do suffer well depending on the rider i have two horses and the way we treat them isn't a way they will suffer and be hurt

    • @valeriedelgadillo173

      Oh so you're saying that we escardamuzas make the horses suffer. well if you are Mexican or New Mexican Traditions you would understand but you don't

    • @vildeeo
      @vildeeo 6 років тому

      So you are saying if you are a Mexican og New Mexican you understand that treating the horses this way is right? Then you are doing animal cruelty. It is easy to read the horse language and expression, and clearly a lot of them are in pain.

      @@vildeeo sometimes we need to, it's part of the work, and we also get bruised and suffer, but we never give up, it's part of it.

    Oh my. The use of tie downs and force here is hard to watch. This is brutal. The horses are desperately pulling on the bit and shaking their heads in pain. Please work to understand a lighter feel through ways such as described and taught by Tom Dorrance.

      shaking there heads in pain? what? who told you that thats the reason why they do that? they are NOT shaking there heads in pain.. they just do that.. everyone who isn't mexican always assumes that Mexicans are soooo cruel..

    • @valeriedelgadillo173
      @valeriedelgadillo173 7 років тому +2

      no they are not shaking their heads in pain if you were mexican or understood the Mexican traditions you would understand so don't go to a video saying that abuse if you don't know what that type of riding is

    • @vildeeo
      @vildeeo 6 років тому

      lol, everyone answering they don't think the horses are in pain. Just look the fuck at the face expressions of the horses. If you can't understand facial expressions at horses you go nothing to say. The riders slam their horses with whisps, that is PAINFUL af, and they use horse bits that is not comfortable, AND they pull so fucking hard. Poor horses.
