This man brought happiness to millions of people. May his memory be a blessing.
A moment of silence in respect to an incredible disney legend.
RIP 🪦 the Sherman Brothers. They will forever be missed and remembered as true Disney legends. 😢
R.I.P.
The Sherman Brothers
Robert B. Sherman (1925-2012)
Richard M. Sherman (1928-2024)
The brothers are now reunited
The Jungle Book, The Sword In The Stone, Charlotte's Web, Snoopy Come Home, and The Tigger Movie has always been my favorite movies with The Sherman Brothers beloved songs, I was heartbroken when I heard Richard M. Sherman passing.
I speak for all Disney fans when I say he will be missed. RIP and thank you for the songs that we sing every day.
So sad to hear Richard Sherman has passed away I will forever cherish all the wonderful music both he and his brother wrote for all the many timeless Disney films that delighted and brought joy and happiness to my childhood thank you Richard and may you rest in peace 👍😞❤️🕊️
I was at Disneyland yesterday and at some point in the day I randomly thought about him. I did not know until I got home that he had passed away. Shed a few tears. I was lucky enough to watch him perform at several events and got to meet him once and got my picture with him! A true legend. He will be missed but we still have his music to remember him by.
Disneyland may have been Walt's park, but Dick left an indelible mark on it. He and Bob wrote several memorable songs for the parks, like "Tiki Tiki Tiki Room", "One Little Spark", "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow", and, of course, "It's a Small World". He may be gone, but his supercalifragilisticexpialidocious music lives forever.
Rest In Peace Richard, thank you for all the joy that you bring us with your music 🙏🏻
Rip Richard thank you and your brother for making the best disney songs
This music has been the soundtrack of my life! So many amazing memories! Thank you, Mr. Sherman! ❤️
Grumpy Grandpa here. He's a part of golden Hollywood. He will be missed. 😢

RIP Sherman Brothers. Thanks so much for giving us many catchy tunes and magical memories throughout The Walt Disney Company! Both of you will be sorely missed!
RIP mr sherman, thanks for the melodies and joy u brought to our childhood
RIP Richard Sherman now reunited up there with Walt and Robert.
We all shall miss you dearly, Richard M. Sherman. Same for you, Robert B. Sherman. Thank you for acquiring magical assistance and iconic fame with Walt Disney and his staff along with the rest of the company. Glad you, Richard, could make it to the premiere of The Jungle Book (2016) with your tie themed like the original because I saw that film to celebrate my birthday. I even enjoyed celebrating both the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World and the 100th birthday of The Walt Disney Company. Glad you were shown in Walt's office again for the scene-creations of Once Upon a Studio.
Let's also not forget he (and Bob) did the songs for Charlotte's Web, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Little Nemo, The Slipper and the Rose, an adaptation of Tom Sawyer, and a Direct-to-Video film called The Mighty Kong. All I'm saying is, he wasn't just under Disney's payroll.
RIP Richard Sherman.
Well this is quite a birthday present the universe decided to give me today. At least he and his brother are finally back together again creating new songs for those in the next world. May they both Rest in Peace.
He will be missed forever 1928-2024❤ thank you for my favorite songs 🎵
Songs that defined my childhood from the scores of Mary Poppins to Jungle Book to legendary rides like It’s a Small World The Tiki Room and so many others. What a giant and what a beautiful soul. We will continue to feed the birds in your honor.

🙁 Legend Yeah 🥺😭 He Is Legend Rest In Peace ☮️ Richard M Sherman And 😔Thank You For Everything Now You Must Go Join Your Brother Robert B Sherman In Heaven👼
Memories…. when Disney was a clean, family-oriented company.
Clown
Now it’s corrupt and soulless.
And it WILL be again! Nelson Peltz and I are going to make that happen!
@@Chris_Thorndyke 😠No, it's NOT! Bob Iger is the real corrupt, soulless one! He's the one disrespecting Walt's memory!
@@annien.1727 I think Bob Iger secretly hates Disney.
R.I.P. Richard Sherman, one of the legendary Disney songwriters. I hope you will be reunited with your brother. Amen. 😔🙏🏼
He's forever the legend. This man brought happiness to billions around the world. May his memory be a blessing. I speak on behalf of all Disney fans across the globe, and he will be missed. Thank you, and RIP. And now, a moment of silence in respect and mourn the passing of Richard Sherman.

"you cannot forget a Sherman Brothers' song for your entire life" - John Lasseter
The fact that Richard explains the Jungle book tie was a tribute to everyone who worked on the original Jungle book, including his brother/fellow songwriter Robert, really got me misty-eyed, because, not counting the actors who voiced Mowgli and the baby elephant (as they were young children at the time of the original film), Richard was the last person who worked on the original film who was still alive during the premiere of the live action version (this also includes the mother elephant’s voice actress and Walt Disney himself, both of whom died almost a year before the original Jungle Book was released (coincidentally, they died on the same day, according to Wikipedia)). My siblings and I grew up watching classic Disney movies with our parents during our childhood, and some of our favorite songs were written by the Sherman brothers (our mom personally loves Mary Poppins). Hearing of Richard Sherman’s death was really heartbreaking, and felt like losing a close family friend.
RIP Richard Sherman, may you and your brother continue to make beautiful music in heaven
Legend! ❤
I’m so pissed my one goal in life on meeting him is now ruined
I'm so sorry
Rest in peace sir
One of the last people of that was part of Walt Disney's legacy... Gone...
At least he's back with his brother, Robert and Walt.
Thanks for the entertainment, Richard. 🫡
Rest in Peace Richard M. Sherman. You and Robert wrote some of the greatest songs of all time with "Mary Poppins" and alongside Kenny Loggins with "Your Heart Will Lead You Home", one of my favorite and absolutely underrated Disney songs of all time!
Huh all that matters now is that he's with his brother and Walt rest in peace Richard Sherman ❤
Jason Schwartzman portrayed Richard in “Saving Mr. Banks.” Great film! If you haven’t watched it, do it next time you have a couple hours of downtime! Jason did a splendid job of re-creating Sherman’s charm and wit! Condolences to Mr.
God rest his soul

Mr. Sherman sounds just like Mel Brooks!
Yes... and looks like him too! 😉
Don't jinx it for Mel as well.
At least this means that Richard will be finally reunited with his brother. They’re now making beautiful music together in Heaven.
Rest in peace Richard Sherman! Thank you for making the classic Disney songs I love.
Amen!🙏🏻

There were so many things I wanted to ask him about Walt and his friendship with him, but it looks like I'll never get that chance.😢 R.I.P, Richard.🙏🏻💔💐 Thank you for giving us a glorious childhood.
The Sherman brother were the little spark that made Disney movie so unique.
Their songs were magical, inspiring and so beautiful.
When I saw the last appearance of Richard, I cried beceause he seemed ill but also I was happy, at the moment, he was still with us ❤

Since Kaa the Snake and Winnie the Pooh himself were voiced by Sterling Holloway and later Jim Cummings, "Its a Small World" was sung for a short while by Zazu, Timon, Percy Jackson (Logan Lerman) and Annabeth Chase (Alexandra Daddario).
Rest in peace, Richard Sherman.
Rest in peace. Thank you for your service and giving us the gift that keeps on giving. We will miss you.

It never ceases to amaze me what the American Jews have accomplished in music and the arts. Indeed, the world would be very small without them.
Has nothing to do with being Jewish 😂😂
RIP Richard Sherman 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
R.I.P 😭
Oh Ricardi won’t let you down and I’m going to sing and you will be proud of me
The realistic puppets shaped like the Winnie the Pooh characters from Christopher Robin, including the photorealistic computer-animated versions of the animals of The Jungle Book are gonna cameo in Realistic Cartoon Alliance.
Rest in heavenly peace to Richard and Robert too. From Mary Poppins to the Jungle Book, from Winnie the Pooh to Charlotte’s Web, you have made our lives a whole lot more special and more fun. The songs you’ve helped create have resonated with me throughout my whole life and will continue to do so. Thank you so much for all the irreplaceable musical memories. Lots of Love Madeleine. ❤️💐
This brought a few tears to my eyes! My favorite song in Mary Poppins is "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"! (Yes, I spelled that on my own, by the way). The Sherman brothers were indeed Disney legends!
There could be a Mary Poppins area in Epcot's England Pavilion. What could suit that pavilion next would be the House of the Darling Family from Peter Pan, and Cruella De Vil's car.
thank you for making the most iconic and beautiful music that made our childhoods special rip 🙏😢💝
😭😭😭😭😭
Bless his heart such an LEGENDARY Disney Legends 🙏🥺🥺
I miss Richard and Robert Sherman very much. They always worked together with Walt Disney. But the Sherman brothers will always be in our hearts forever.
🙄Scar anything But that 😒
I remembered seeing the movies Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, The Sword in the Stone, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and The Aristocats on Disney plus. RIP Richard Sherman the composer of these movies and music.

He is now reunited with his brother and Walt
Rip Richard sherman 😢😢😢
Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book and Winnie the Pooh which the Sherman Brothers wrote and composed the songs of and for are based on P.L. Travers' famous novels, Rudyard Kipling's eponymous collective works and A.A. Milne's original creations.
You know that if you are huge disney fan celebrity deaths are going to hit you hardest even if you are a big fan of Disney
First Robert and now richard
Also in 1977 besides the release of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, there was Star Wars.
I think he wrote the soundtrack for Charlotte's Web too.
Collaberating, as always, with his brother, Robert B. Sherman, he did. And I can think of no more fitting tribute to both of them than their song from that movie, "Charlotte's Farewell," in which Charlotte (voiced by Debbie Reynolds) reprises a lovely earlier song, "Mother Earth and Father Time," just before her death:
The autumn days grow short and cold.
It's Christmas time again.
Then snows of winter slowly melt.
The days grow short and then
He turns the seasons around,
And so she changes her gown,
Mother Earth and Father Time.
How very special are we,
For just a moment to be
Part of life's eternal rhyme.
These actors and fans are taking it all hard.
Why him why couldn’t be Vladimir Putin a.k.a. Caillou in real life
If the entire Winnie the Pooh franchise by:
The classic Winnie the Pooh shorts/The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977)
The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
The Tigger Movie (2000)
Piglet's Big Movie (2003)
Pooh's Heffalump Movie (2005)
Pooh's Heffalump Halloween Movie (also 2005)
Winnie the Pooh (2011)
Christopher Robin (2018)
were all bundled together, it'll be tigger-ific!
The Book of Pooh, My Best Friends, Tigger and Pooh and the mini sized CGI Winnie the Pooh series will have their own bundle.
Also in 1964 besides the release of Mary Poppins were the unveilance of the Carousel of Progress, the launch of Japan's bullet train system, the Shinkansen and Frank Walker's George Clooney attendance of the New York World's Fair to experience Tomorrowland.
Also in 1967 besides the release of The Jungle Book and The Happiest Millionaire were another live-action mystery thriller film, The Reluctant Astronaut, the birth of Jamie Foxx and the Nereu Jacket from The Groovy Formal Collection.
The Aristocats played in 101 Dalmatians (1996) and The Happiest Millionare must've released after The Jungle Book on the same year.
Man Richard and his brother Robert defined our childhood. I want to be like you from the jungle book is my favorite song as a kid rest in peace Robert You brought a lot of joy to people
Earlier today I read that Mr. Sherman passed away. I was at Disneyland later this morning and went to the area in the hallway outside of Great Moments with Mr Lincoln , hoping to glance at the photo of Richard and Robert Sherman. Unfortunately, that area was blocked off by a curtain. I do hope that Disneyland does something special to honor them, and the music of our childhood memories
According to the Mary Poppins details in Epcot's England Pavilion and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh which suddenly became a ride in the Magic Kingdom, there ought to be the world of The Jungle Book and The Jungle Book 2; same world, in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Here's the reason: the characters of The Jungle Book danced with the floats and the rest of the characters in Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade.
Richard was happy to wear a tie illustrating The Jungle Book (1967) to the premiere of the 2016 live-action/CGI adaptation directed by Jon Favreau and written by Justin Marks. Bruce Reitherman who voiced Mowgli the Man Cub in the classic film is revealed to be the son of one of Walt Disney's Nine Old Men, Wolfgang Reitherman; he took over the directing of the classic in place of Walt Disney after he died. The Jungle Book (1967) is the last of the Disney movies to feature Walt Disney's personal touch.
2012: Robert B Sherman
2024: Richard M Sherman
That finally, but sadly, happened anyway.
The events of The Jungle Book must've started after The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, A Christmas Carol, The Lone Ranger, The Greatest Showman, Alice in Wonderland, Alice Through the Looking Glass and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. My guess is that those stories which have the details of all the real world's classic times could make them part of Earth's history for real and my mythical character, Megalo Station (Blaire Rastaneo) noticed all those events; the Minions, Frank Skipper (Dwayne Johnson) and Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) went through those events and Megalo met them all.
If both The Jungle Book (1967) and The Jungle Book 2 (2003) were bundled together, Jungle Cubs ought to be added too.
My characters will trot through the world of The Jungle Book while they intend to escape India where both the classic film along with its 2003 sequel and the live-acton/CGI adaptation are set; a deceased Kaa will be shown in a dry marshland with huge rocks pointing skyward and when Casey Jr. and Putt-Putt thunder through India, the fallen gong in the giant gong ring will be repositioned.
