I think everyone should have a single opportunity to redraft exactly one position at the end of the draft, if they want to. So they can swap one bad pick with another chance at a good pick, but only after the original team draft is over. Would be more exciting for the ending!!!
Makes sense that Kent had more TB in 2002 than 2000. In 2000, he batted behind Bonds and drew a lot of walks (90). They flipped them in the lineup about halfway through 2002 and teams not only pitched to Kent more, but gave him good pitches to hit. So he only walked 52 times and was more productive swinging the bat.
"No Bonds" rule is not at all necessary, considering more than a quarter of his plate appearances in the 2000s ended in a walk, and walks don't count towards total bases. He never led the league in total bases in the 2000s, and he didn't even finish in the Top 10 after 2002. These guys don't seem to ever remember what the definition of "total bases" actually is.
@@RubexCube1 He didn't even lead the league that season, nor was he even second. "Total bases in just home runs" can be more simply expressed as "home runs", and this is not a home run draft. If it was a "total times reaching base safely" draft, you wouldn't make a rule that you can't take Ichiro because he got on base 225 times in 2004 just from hitting singles.

Aurilia hit 2nd in the Giants lineup in 2001, in front of Bonds, who was hitting 3rd. That's usually the reason given for why his numbers were so amazing in 2001 (besides the other probable reason). Halfway through the 2002 season, Dusty Baker switched Bonds and Kent, so Kent was hitting 3rd and Bonds was hitting 4th. Aurilia had already had a drop off that season from the previous one, but the lineup switch probably didn't help him (although he was still hitting in front of Kent AND Bonds, which is not bad).
I do think some drafts that sould be a change of pace would be bad player drafts such as pitcher earned runs or batter strikeouts. We see a lot of repeats with all these good statistics so hearing some different names would be cool
I almost wish you guys gave yourself more time to draft. Maybe announce the division, go off in another room for 10 mins to an hour to allow players to strategize maybe make a big board. Give us a lil montage of the strategy time and maybe an interview? Could be fun and would make for quality draft picks and less misses
"2001 was a crazy year, for a lot of people" 💀💀💀
Especially in New York, Yanks and Mets were electric that year.

"The reliever?" was PERFECT delivery from Dalton.
Something something something Corey Seager is a SICK burn 😂
I'm a simple man, I see Ryan in the thumbnail I click.
The highs for Dalton were so high, but the lows were so, so low...
crazy Luis Gonzalez was only the second worst thing to happen to New York in 2001
Vomiting and shitting if 2001 Rich Aurilia isn't taken
My condolences to your stomach
this has been my reaction to every NL West draft
Just wait
Not only was he not taken, this casual host said there was “no way they get the best shortstop season” as if rich aurilia isn’t a legend…
I only remember Rich Aurilla because my fantasy baseball league created a "Rich Aurilia rule" where you lost points for errors.
The Edman and Seager burns were beautiful lmao. NL west is stacked had no clue Blackmon was that crazy good
People forget
It’s cuz everyone over looks anything that happens in Colorado.
As a sad Giants fan, I finally have another NL West video that I can finally watch 8 times over
Ryan is so chill while Jolly and Dalton are throwing sass back at each other
Best moments in JM Baseball history:
#1) first full Goose in Scattegories
#2) first 9/11 reference in lineup drafts
if shawn green isn’t selected we riot
oh dalton how could you
if 2001 Rich Aurilia isn't picked we riot

I think it’d be pretty funny to have a rule that says a 2020 guy needs to be taken.
Wondering what a 2020 draft would look like
I’ve been commenting that they should do 2020 drafts for every stat, but they’ve either missed it or don’t like the idea
Luke Voit 1 of 1 would be hilarious
1:56 - That's why we begged for the Lucas cam. 😂
The point of a 50/50 is you get it right half the time 😂😂😂😂

It’s BS he’s not even the best one. It would’ve been nice to see them pick him.
It is Jollys cheat. He had 1st pick and didnt want to pick him
Barry bonds had 292 total bases in just HRs in 2001. I think that's a pretty sold rule.

Spin a wheel to select division, stat, and 2 years for boundary to pick from (2003, 2018 would mean 2003-2018 years eligible)

Man no Nolan Arenado is wild
Didn't know I wanted these guys to make a boy band, but I definitely do now. The Infield is gonna rip
Why would you take Chase Headley when Manny Machado was still on the board? lol
For the cred. But the funny thing is 2022 Machado is only better than 2012 Headley by 6 TB, it's 307 to 301.
Ryan saying he was in 6th grade in 2011 was the most shocking thing I’ve heard all day. He’s the same age as me at 23???

Fav time of the week
Special edition idea: 2020 season only draft. It'd be low but that'd make the margin of error even more significant.
How did no one pick Arenado
I feel like walks should count as a base for the hitter, given that it is a “total bases” draft. Same with steals

WHY DIDN'T YOU TAKE BARRY BONDS
Did you miss the part when they agreed not to?
Ryan is so damn handsome
Arenado ?????

I was wrong.

Am I crazy for shouting Pujols at my screen for 20 minutes?
Yes. Pujols played half a season in the NL West and had 87 total bases.
@tgags123HD haha oops I remembered it being longer
I fucking love this line up.
Please stop ruining videos with dalton. The guy is insufferable
Ryan is a predator. N not the good kind
