Love the video. Really good job balancing the money aspect and how to. I think price depends on where you live. In NY city, I'd say you should have charged much more. Where I live, not a bad price. You might want to charge a shop fee per job. Those tools aren't free. Maintenance isn't free. I'd day for a job that large, at least $100. Make sure you put it in the shop fee piggy bank! Makes upgrading or replacing far less painful. I'm always shooting for $50/hour if I can get it.

Thanks! You’re 100% spot on with your thoughts. I couldn’t agree more that price point is very location dependent 👍🏻

I think the biggest “How To” in woodworking is how to charge for what you are making. I think you made a couple good points related to your situation like, experience level of what you are doing, building to grow a UA-cam base and just doing something that you enjoy. Great video as always, the entire build turned out amazing! I just hope that you docked your pay for the time you napped while sanding!🤣

Can you tell me how the Rubio was installed? I have mine built but was going to just use a regular stain that will be wiped on but Dam I liked your method.

Beautiful! I think you could charge more. Planer, saws, jointer, sanders, etc cost money; and, the quality appears to be fantastic!

Prices are based on where you are so I’m not sure if you undercharged for your location. That said that set where I am would go for double that price for sure. Really nice build thanks for sharing!

Very nice work. I think you should add wear and tear on all of your equipment you use in your shop for your projects. Also the 2 hr. round trip for materials should be added as well. Your customer base has a lot to do with your final price - who will buy your furniture. ~$50.00/hr for your time is very reasonable. My 2 cents.

I feel like you could have charged double that easily. It does depend on the local market. Custom ordered things are usually more expensive also. If you had just built it and put it up for sale, I could understand the lower price just trying to unload it.
That said, profit is profit; and hopefully you had fun making it.

Great video! I personally feel you may have under charged for the set, But I am very aware that prices can be driven by the location of your client. In my woodworking I build primarily Arts and Craft style furniture and use White Oak exclusively. My material cost can vary greatly. as for the Tools productivity is the Key, My clients want the hand cut Mortise and Tenon, otherwise I would have a Domino machine. anyhow beautiful work, and great content.

Thanks for the feedback! Mortise and tenon can’t be beat for sure.. but the domino is so quick/easy to use. Good luck with your future builds! 👍🏻
