I do not like heat, crowds, or pollution, but India has been calling to my soul for 2 decades now. Your videos make me want to get lost and spend all my money. Banana lassi for life.
Mehn u have really inspired me to take this Indian trip. I just need some Indian friends from different states in India to make it more fun to visit. Thank u 💕💕
Thaophy Thaophy Do good research, don't travel in trains unless it is AC Tier 1 or 2( u have to pre book it i guess),try maharaja trains they are very luxurious. Northeast, Kerela,Goa, Andaman and Nicobar islands and Hill stations of north are pretty beautiful. They are a bunch of places of historical significance but you may find them a little overwhelming. Book hotels from OYO ir MakeMyTrip App Have a good journey and sorry for the incidents of racisms faced by some people of your community.
Akash kumar Lol. Will check that out in dollars. If it fits my budget. If converting rupees to dollars isn’t that much, then I’ll go for it.😀😀 Btw thank u for letting me know the price range.
Try in Ac train except Maharaja train..... every other train is cheaper,. But if u check in Google u can find full details of Maharaja train... they provide full facilities.....plz check once in google for Maharaja train....and if any other help required contact me on sudarshan12.pg@gmail.com I'm always available.
G'day Gabriel - great stuff bro. I do a lot of video and sometimes fail to focus on the person's face I am talking with - like that guy selling those Indian desserts with tons of sugar added :) - Kulrie and Library Bazaars would have sealed the deal...perhaps next time. Mussoorie was part of my life from 1968-1981, it's a great place. Keep up the good work bro...look after yourself on those travels...blessings always...Harry
No the altitude there didn't affect me at all. I don't get affected by altitude unless it's pretty high up. I did notice it in Cusco, Peru and in Leh, Ladakh which are both above 11,000 feet. Even then it was fairly subtle. I went trekking in Nepal up to 18,000 feet and noticed it then but even so I didn't get altitude sickness. Some people can be affected much lower than that, so it just depends on the person.
Hey Gabriel, I have seen most of your videos covering hampi, Goa , Manali , Dharamshala etc . It’s simply amazing what all you are sharing here . If you get a chance ,do visit Kanatel it’s bit more north to Mussoorie. Thanks for sharing your videos nd keep on recording . Cheers
The restaurant is just awesome Seems like the owner really put his heart and soul to decorate it Kinda posh for my taste though, but great for a first date :)
Hi there, very nice video from Mussoorie. These foot hills area seems very nice. It also seems like a much more relaxed atmosphere than down on the plains. Also seems a lot more clean and orderly than other places. Why is that? Have a nice continued journey, I’ll keep on watching 👍👍
The town is so peaceful and inviting. Clean and colorful. interesting architecture. And of course The views are spectacular. I forgot that mentioned going to a new country. I forgot which one and so I'll be surprised. Truly awesome video.
my home 💛💗most of the parts of uttarakhand are still undiscovered !and am glad that they are still untouched and pure by other hooligan tourists! ps- hope you haven't missed the winter line in Mussoorie its the only place after Switzerland in the world from where you can observe this gorgeous phenomenon by nature
You should have gone down the hill..its where the main market..and from there you could have seen winterline only visible from 2 places in the entire world..check online and visit again..goodluck fr future journey
13:00 awesome work Gabriel... pls visit my city, Kolkata, to enjoy delicious foods and to travel to North-Eastern parts in your next visit to India. good luck mate
Hum Tum....living for 2 years does not guarantee you to have good foods unless you are willing to spend enough...there are thousands of street food corners and restaurants which serve awesome foods....probably u haven't been to any of them....pity
Keep in mind that Bhutan has a tourist surcharge of $250 per day. Not certain if it would apply to you depending on where you're from. But that has keep me away from visiting Bhutan. Otherwise I'd love to see it. As for India or Nepal, just depends on what you want to do. If you're in the mood for trekking in the Himalayas, go for Nepal. Depends a bit on the season as well. Nepal is best to visit from late March to early June and late September into November. India you can visit any time of year but the season will determine which part of the country is best to visit. In summer go into the mountains, in winter probably want to go south, etc.
If you are looking for calm & peace, visit -- 1. Bhutan 2. Nepal. Add to that, the whole country can be covered in a few days. Anything opposite of that is India.
abhineet negi have you ever visit nepal? Who told you that whole nepal can be visited in few days? Nepal has so much to see like Tilicho lake (highest lake by altitude) , Rara lake ( lake which change 3 colors on a day ) , bhaktapur( Ancinet valley) , kathmandu's world herirage site like boudhanath , syayambhunath, pashupatinath, pokhara, Everest base camp, annapurna base camp and many more.. nepal being small than india doesnt mean it has less place to visit... typical proudy indian
I have to admit Gabriel this traveling in India is not easy. Spent most of the day just trying to find a decent place in Messuri. The google address don’t work. When show up they either don’t rent to foreigners or it’s a bad place. Might have to bail on the Himalayan adventure just seems too difficult. Maybe it’s me, but I have traveled for the past 10 yrs and this is most difficult I have experienced. I don’t know now you do and still film and edit etc. spent the whole day looking for a place here and haven’t even sight seen yet or seen the views. You have something special.
I see. Have you tried online booking in advance in India? Mussoorie is a very local Indian destination, not many foreigners go there so maybe that's why. If you get the chance make sure to do the hike up to the place I showed in this video so you get the views of the Himalayas, it's amazing.
Yes I did the walk up to Gun Hill after I checked into my new place. Ended up getting a private room at Shalom backpackers. Unfortunately it was cloudy today so not amazing views but I am glad I did the walk and got to see the town from there. Got some great shots of the orange sky as the sun came down. Thank you for the recommendation. May push fwd and regroup in Dehradun since the busses leave form there. Then take a morning bus to Shimla then to McLeod then probably just fly to Jaipur and Goa. Also almost all the reviews on booking and google maps are fake in India(at least in this area) for most of the hotels so they are not reliable.
I see. Sounds like a plan. I've been through Dehra Dun a few times, never saw any reason to go there but it does make sense to stay for a night, get up early and then you should be able to get to Shimla the next day. Once you're in Shimla you could consider going to Manali and Vashisht. Also the Parvati Valley is well worth a visit, a lot to see there including Kasol and Manikaran hot springs and various small villages higher in the Himalayas. I think you saw one of my videos from there. It's really worth spending a week or so in that area if you have the time and can tolerate more long bus journeys on winding roads, but I know that does get tiresome. Jaipur is a bit chaotic, I'd just recommend it for a day. But Pushkar is a great town, somewhere you can relax for a while.
Hi Gabe. Don't know if you'll see this but just rewatching & wondered if you've read any Ruskin Bond? He's elderly now but from Mussoorie. *Amazing* writer. Anglo-Indian & writes the most incredible descriptions of India. Hope all good with the current island life dude. Stay safe👍👍👍👍
Nope, stuck at home in the UK unforch & it's cold af. I think I've cracked it though. At the grand old age of 53 I've decided to do a university degree. Anthropology & Global Development with contemporary Indian Studies & Hindi. Four year course with a year funded at an Indian (or course relevant country) University as well. Fieldwork. Heh. Turns out that these days, if you can read & write & string a sentence together, Social Science admissions boards just *love* old hippies with chequered pasts, a love of people watching and lots of life experience. Who knew? .......Might be an interesting potential option if you occasionally think of hanging up the ole backpack & slipping the boots off for a few years, temporary-like. Jus sayin bro. 😉
Right on man, sounds like a pretty darned good plan, for now. I'm thinking about slowing down the traveling to some extent somehow, but not quite sure what that will look like yet.

Ask your self there questions who I am and where have I came from and where I am going after I exit this world and what have I done for humanity and my self .self realisation and confidence will definitely help you . when you do yoga and meditation daily it helps relieve stress . most people today need help dealing with problem health wise it is important to make wise choice when eating or drinking..sickness cause by many factors constipation , acidity, lack of sleep, lack of water and most importantly sleep. General hygiene daily avoid stress do yoga and meditation daily.get 8 hrs sleep and eat a balance diet and exercise daily and drink pure coconut water or water. What a beautiful town, gorgeous vistas and clean streets. It must be a nice place to settle down.
What a gorgeous, gorgeous place. What’s the approximate elevation there, do you think? Those views of the distant peaks were stellar. 👍🏼😍👍🏼✌🏼

I was in Mussoori in 1996, before it was developed. I stayed at an old inn at the top of the mountain and the views were spectacular.
You showed very little Mussoorie, specially when you were there during weekdays. In weekends, this place is fully packed with no hotel rooms. There are tourist attractions nearby ex Kempty falls, Company garden and even Mall road is more vivid during evening.
Not these days, It's offseason, it will get packed again when it will snow and on 25th Dec and 31 Dec.

Excellent, have a great trip.

Grovel but he ignored him in the end didnt even say bye properly
Couple of guys on motorbike distracted him by loud noise.
The host should have atleast tasted some free samples he offered.

This is a great episode. Gab doing what he does best, roaming random ass towns in the middle of nowhere.
Yeah that's pretty much my thing.
Another awesome video, you make me want to visit India.
Where do you recommend I go first?
1. India

3. Bhutan

Poojaa Dhakal Kid ..!!
You need to understand the meaning of "a few days" here.
15-20 days or 2-3 weeks are more than enough to visit Nepal.
Bangkok Bound Gabriel has not explored western ghats of India. Especially in Karnataka. You should visit Coorg.
Sunset view was breathtaking!!!
Interesting Place.. Be bloody cold in the winter living that high up.... *Greg*
