Can I just give a quick shout out to the (I'm guessing GBR) kids cheering in the background for _every single gymnast_ no matter their country. It is not just great hospitality/sportsmanship, but adorable as well.
look at Amanar's legs on the entry! glued 2gether. have been watching legs come apart as soon as they hit springboard for years. almost 4got what correct form looks like. awesome DTY
Milo's floor routine was the best - no breaks and no extra steps, and she really knows how to perform a floor routine, and is a big favorite of the audience. Lilia's floor is also excellent, but there were big steps after two passes (first and third) and the FHS Rudi landed awkwardly with a couple of side steps. Milo has always been a top floor competitor and is a natural performer looking so relaxed and confident.
love these gymnasts from this era - (ignore the spelling of their names i kow it not right!) - Svetlana Bouginskya, Lylia Podkapya, Lavina Milosovich, Simona Amanar
Svetlana Boginskaya was in pretty good shape having come out of retirement after 3 years. In fact, her floor routine was much better than in her 1992 Olympics. For the 1996 Olympics she would even add another full twist to her yurchenko vault.
LOL @ 06:35! "She's (Svetlana Boginskaya) never perhaps been renowned for her great vaulting"! Yeah, she's only been an Olympic, twice European Champion and World silver medallist on vault!
i resaly feel for her - i think she was robbed many times over due to scoring at many diff competitions, she was a lot better across time than her scores ever really showed. Maybe it was judges' bias cos she was taller, older, idk
Here I go, being an old stick-in-the-mud, but those young women back then seemed so much more natural than the ones today. Today, so many female (and even male) gymnasts have super-plucked eyebrows, super-hydrated skin, perfectly fixed hair, sparkles and such for the women, etc etc etc. Having a closer look at the gymnasts during the medal ceremony was very refreshing - they looked more real.
The choreography and music of Milo's floor routine was not very interesting. In fact, it was painful. I can't believe she got gold for that one. 1992 was SO much more interesting.
This was the age that Romanians seemed cheating onscores. They to have extra plus scores vs other countries who seemed better and have clearly difficult routines. As Romainians have up to have clean, safe and basic routines vs difficulty. It was a loophole. But then gymnastic change. Routines requiring difficulty rather than dancing. The rest of the world advance ahead of them. Hence US, G Britain, Japan, Brazil and Germany have shined. Russia and China difficult as always on there routines survive.
Yes... Surprisingly, there were actually 4 athletes that tied for gold in Glasgow 2015 in the Uneven Bars final including Viktoria Komova (RUS), Fan Yilin (CHN), Daria Spiridonova (RUS), and Madison Kocian (USA). But, they all deserved the Gold, and the 4-way tie was a World Record as well! :)
She lost the connection bonus so her SV was only 9.80 as the 2.5 twist punch front was D+A direct for 0.2 pts. So her score is rather generous as considered.
Khorkina got so many gifts in her career I am fine with her being robbed atleast once. And anyway she still got a gold, even if tieing with Amanar or Podkopayeva without her best routine and a big hop on the landing on her worst event was a joke, it still didn't affect her medal, and she won many other medals she didn't deserve in her career. One of the worst was the individual worlds on bars where she made a large error and got a gift 9.787 (vs her 9.825 her for a perfect routine, hilarious) and won gold over many much better routines, worst of all Liu Xuan getting only a 9.7 and not even medaling.
4:00 No. *_No. NO. NO!_* I'm sorry, but that is quite simply obviously not the vault she posted. She should've gotten a 0. Look I love Gina, but she clearly posted the number for the "Phelps". That's a 1/2-on 1/2-off to front layout. She did a Tsukahara back layout with a 1/2 twist. Even if they didn't give her a zero for not doing the posted vault, the score for the Tsuk LO 1/2 is only a 9.7. It's just fucking ridiculous.

I love how Pod really kicks over those half-outs on her vaults. Each phase of the vault is clear, no careening haphazardly through the air.
look at Amanar's legs on the entry! glued 2gether. have been watching legs come apart as soon as they hit springboard for years. almost 4got what correct form looks like. awesome DTY
thing is...amanar could've easily put in another half twist, even on this old vaulting horse. she finishes her 2 twists so early
Um? she did. That's why the 2 and a half twisting Yurchenko is named the Amanar, she performed it at the 2000 Olympics on the old vaulting horse in EF
i think svetlana boginskaya has been, by far, the most beautiful page in gymnastics history.
I love Svetlana Boginskaya. She is so humble for such an amazing gymnast. What a kind and wonderful person!
So many icons in one video. 👍🏻👍🏻

YES Galiyeva doing a split double layout!
Lilia's floor routine was beautiful as usual but it did not deserve to beat Kochetkova's! It was nearly perfect and I felt so bad for her lol :(
Svetlana Boginskaya was in pretty good shape having come out of retirement after 3 years. In fact, her floor routine was much better than in her 1992 Olympics. For the 1996 Olympics she would even add another full twist to her yurchenko vault.
Svetlana Boginskaya and Rosa Galiyeva are so extremely talented and wonderful gymnasts as well!
Подкопаева просто чудо, лучшая хореография
Roza Galieva is in fabulous shape and condition in this competition !
Khorkina volt is perfect I think she is gold
LOL @ 06:35!
"She's (Svetlana Boginskaya) never perhaps been renowned for her great vaulting"! Yeah, she's only been an Olympic, twice European Champion and World silver medallist on vault!
And probably the most consistent in sticking the ubiquitous Yurchenko of all time.
i resaly feel for her - i think she was robbed many times over due to scoring at many diff competitions, she was a lot better across time than her scores ever really showed. Maybe it was judges' bias cos she was taller, older, idk
Milosovici was absolutely overscored on bars
hard to belive that she scored 9.8 with that routine
Amanar and Milo never deserved the scores they got in this quad. Well, rarely ;)

How can she say that Boginskaya hasn't been known for her vaulting she was 1988 Olympic vault champion... yeah ok then...
Silivas was a pretty crappy vaulter compared to Shush and Bogi.
love love love lylia's floor - natural dancer, ballet
omg Bovi at the end being interviewed!! i have never heard her speak before, wow!
Boginskaya and Galieva should've kept these floor routines for the Olympics. Much better than what they presented in Atlanta.
Unusual stumble for Amanar on her beam mount
Thank you so much for this!!
This was a pretty grim beam final. So-so routines throughout
i think Dina's woudl have won had she not fallen off - she was by far the better routine and performance i think
I feel like the Phelps vault is the worst vault ever to be scored from a 10.0.
126:29 I’m not gonna stop ✋Good for you Boginskya 🤸♀️
my podium on the floor was 1st russia 2nd spain 3rd roumania
The choreography and music of Milo's floor routine was not very interesting. In fact, it was painful. I can't believe she got gold for that one. 1992 was SO much more interesting.
Yeah, that was a gift. Couldn’t dance to save her life.
lavinia's floor routine is really good, but ironic, in that she has the happiest music, yet almost never smiles ... buuuuut,, it still suits her!

I can’t believe back then, at that level, the pause and standing on the low bar. You never see that today at the Elite level.
I know. I forgot it was being done at this level. I was shocked.
You don't see it anymore because it is a heavy deduction at the elite level.
47:35 "And again if you missed it the first time." 💀💀💀
3 golds in UB, kinda like ...
Glasgow???

how come amanar's floor score can be that low? just one foot slip!!
She lost the connection bonus so her SV was only 9.80 as the 2.5 twist punch front was D+A direct for 0.2 pts. So her score is rather generous as considered.
Galiyeva so deserved the gold but Piskun should've been in 2nd Gogean 3rd. On the beam
The editing on bars...definitely done by a guy.
Хоркина - лучшая!!!
Dina is so beautiful
Khorkina and Amanar UB tie? Joke!
Khorkina got so many gifts in her career I am fine with her being robbed atleast once. Khorkina was robbed
Didn't Piskuin get a deduction on floor for not performing at least one pass with a Double salto in it? I.e, (tucked double back).
No it was not a requirement in that code.
Poor Dina, 2 fails in the same day...
And she is such a beautiful gymnast. It just wasn’t her day, at all.
As usual a very dodgy era which favored Romanians.
khorkina should have wun the barrs alone and lilia did not deserve to win the floor.
The screaming in the background is unbearable.!
4:00 No. *_No. NO. NO!_* I'm sorry, but that is quite simply obviously not the vault she posted. She should've gotten a 0.

It's just fucking ridiculous.
Gogean was so overscored on almost every event in her career. She was always boring. No personality at all.
Thanks for posting. Seems like only yesterday this event happened. I saw it live on tv.
Amanda’s BB was only out of 9.80 hence the low score. She needed 0.2 more in D/E bonus.
You mean Amanar right? There was no Amanda.
Yes auto correct changed it before I noticed
Bogi did not need that final pass ironically.
