That wood shed was a beauty 👍You were so enamored by it, it distracted you from rolling up your tarp before dumping- don't blame you 🤣Awesome score on that ash!
Wow! As a guy struggling to source logs to replenish my inventory I was drooling 🤤over those beautiful Ash logs! You won the wood lottery again😂 Good stuff SIR CHRISETH👍🏻👍🏻GNI
Some of those logs were too nice to cut into fire wood I would love to see them on my bandsaw mill. But you don’t have one of those so fire wood it is. Keep making the videos I love watching them and even though I’ve been involved in cutting fire wood for over 35 years I still learn new things from your videos. I’m building a conveyor this winter to fill bins like you have been.
That's a good score on the ash wood Chris do you sell that as a hard wood cause we put it with the mixed wood pile and sell it one benefit but you did good and enjoy your deer hunting trip and be safe and warm time to bring out the processor when you get the logs on your lot really good score on them how long you figure to season dead ash said split and sell are use in thirty days have to do something to return the favor show appreciation like a gift card for dinner just saying I know you will the type of guy you are me again thanks for posting Chris be looking for next video be safe my friend still catching up on videos all interesting and informative appreciate all you do for people asking how to start a firewood business you so down to earth your word is golden cause with you no bull takes time let them know it takes time and how to get hooked up with right people that's what I like about you straight up to the point thanks Chris be safe
Chris has never broken a window . But I remember when I was a little boy my older brother thought he would be nice and clean off my dad's truck and my brother was trying to break the ice off the windshield with a hammer and yep he shattered the windshield. My Dad was so P Oed But my brother wanted to make it up to him a week later and we got a lot of snow and Dad's truck with a new windshield on it was covered in snow and Ice. Dad was just getting up and making coffee and he saw my brother with a bucket of boiling water and going outside. Dad said to mom what is that boy doing with the hot water thinking maybe he was going to take care of the chickens or something. Mom said he is trying to melt the Ice off your windshield. Dad yells OH F NO. Just as dad opens the door and yells stop he was in mid air with the boiling water. Yep busted another windshield.. I remember that day like it just happened and that was in the early 70's lmao. Funny thing is as I got older I told Dad he can't be upset with all us kids did because he had 11 kids so he too was a slow learner lmao.
Chris I have quick question, has anyone ever tested you wood with a meter before you dropped a load? I've bought h ht a lot of wood and I don't want insult the guy but it's my hard earned money and if you're saying it's seasoned. Well?
Nice deliveries and loads of Ash Chris. Tony must really feel left out as you gained yet another New Best Friend. lol. Stay safe and hydrated. Good Night Irene
Hey Chris, curious about Ash. Don’t think we have that down South in Bama. Is it similar to Oak? In terms of density, splitting, heat output etc? I think you said it drys much faster..
Yup, it is kinda like oak in looks but... It is a dry wood ..living trees are maybe 30% moisture and oak is 40-45% and it dries WAY faster when cut and split...like 3 times as fast...heat wise it is 20ish btu and most oak is 23-24ish btus.
I am working on my Dad's property, clearing all the EAB killed ash. He has a neighboring property LOADED with ash that is standing dead as well...he is 150% against ANY cutting in there. It is a shame, as it really needs to be cleaned up and OAK is regenerating in the area already, so removing them would give it space...but I digress.
That’s a shame! You can’t win some battles I know of some people like that too...forests are crops and they NEED to be taken care of or nature will.....fire....There is a far west state that cuts very little of their forests and then wanders why there are so many wildfires.... natures way of cleaning....pretty simple.
Talking about broken windows. I’ve only broken one. We test vehicles at work, defrost cold start etc. We had a vehicle that had a small patch of ice build up on it before we wanted to defrost it. Had to get it off for a good test. It was a bullet proof window. I asked my customer and showed him the very small hammer I intended to use. He told me again “it’s bulletproof, get a bigger hammer” l was very gently chipping away and “PING!” Off came a chip. Went in told him and he couldn’t believe it. I showed him what I was doing, he tried it and Ping again( window was already broken). Here’s the thing. Bulletproof means it stops bullets from penetration.doing so with layers and layers of plastic and glass. ITS STILL GLASS!. 6000$ at the time. Probably more like 15,000$ today. A very expensive lesson. Pass it on if you like😊
Nice deliveries. Wood in and wood out same trip (logistics). Nice woodshed, mine is similar size and almost full of 2-3 yr old hardwood-never to get rained/snowed on again. Seems to be some new cat colors, have the momma’s been barn hopping? GNI
He does not buy firewood from me he was referred to me buy one...but I have had lots of customers give me trees/logs for free...they either can not or do not want to cut and split into firewood.
That is a great score on the ash logs. They are gone in Ohio. The ones that are still standing aren't worth cutting. When they drop, they bust up like they were made of clay.
The rear window of that truck has never been broken, he knows how much wood fits in whatever he’s hauling in, he doesn’t need no dang dump remote and most of all he HATES Husqvarna chainsaws. Stihl man to his grave. 😂
No because the owner does not want trucks in there and I can haul as he cuts and he would need to have a whole truck load to make it worth it for me, that could take months. It is not far.
As I watch your videos, I’m finding some similarities between our firewood operations. The only exceptions are that my business is run on a much smaller scale than yours. I do have plans to upgrade equipment to improve my productivity.
Bert has a new vid out this morning folks, showing how he does the chainsaw bar grippy thing so you don't have to chase your saw all around the tailgate!! Well designed well built and well worth it!
LOL! The "side-eye".....Yes I watched yesterday...Merry Christmas Chris!
Thanks Gord!
That wood shed was a beauty 👍You were so enamored by it, it distracted you from rolling up your tarp before dumping- don't blame you 🤣Awesome score on that ash!
Yup, that actually did happen ...just like you described!
Wow! As a guy struggling to source logs to replenish my inventory I was drooling 🤤over those beautiful Ash logs! You won the wood lottery again😂 Good stuff SIR CHRISETH👍🏻👍🏻GNI
Yup, like winning the lottery without a ticket! Thanks Sir Toddeth!
Beautiful load of ash! The wood shed was top notch. Cheers Chris
Yupl yes...thanks!

@InTheWoodyard always my friend

That is a good one!!!! Ha!
Yes they sure have...and when the do I get mine out to to compare.
Man what a great gift of wood! I try to find stuff but it’s usually junk.
Chris,in NZ we would call a pile of free logs like that a "top score" good video. Cheers from HB NZ
Good looking wood 🪵!👍🏻🇺🇸
RO GA LA!!!
Thanks Rick!
Nice loads of wood. 👍🏻
Yes sir!
Chris was taught the right way. His dad told him if he broke the window he would pay for a new one. Tends to make you careful
Yup, and he meant it.
Chris never broke a window but when he does it will make a great video 📹 👍 😊
Yeah I am pretty careful! But I should just break one for a video!!! Maybe Berts truck!?!?!
@@InTheWoodyard Was the barn window not enough?

Haaa! Tony is going to be so jealous....again!
That is some nice ash
yup, it is that!! And lots more to come!
As you walked past the stack of ash logs, I saw Uncle Benjamin's face at the end of each one smiling at you🤣🤣🤣
What pile of logs...I just saw a pile of Benjamins.
You are the Master Chucker.
Ha! Thanks! Lots of practice!
Wow! More and free!
Yup...lots more!
Hi Chris nice wood good video (Ty Ron
Thanks Ron!

How do you cut down that dangerous one down? I have one like that. That is a great wood source. Ash is great firewood which leaves lots of ash.
probably with some ropes pulling parts to a safe area.
Nice FREE logs
My favorite kind!
What a shame, between Ash, Elm, Oak and Locust dying off, is nature trying to tell us something? Time to start naming the Cats 😁
The cats all have names....cats. We just go by color.
No windows were harmed during wood operations...ever
Yup....so far!

Do you charge the same amount to stack no matter the quantity you’re delivering?
Yup, $20 a face cord ($60 a full cord) and more if I have to take any steps, carry or wheelbarrow it.

Nope, same cats as always, they just do not all show up every day..some are very friendly and some are very shy.....cats.
As I'm watching I'm confused on why the customer gave away his logs when he buys firewood. What was his reason? Thanks!
He does not buy firewood from me he was referred to me buy one...but I have had lots of customers give me trees/logs for free...they either can not or do not want to cut and split into firewood.
That looks more like 7-8 loads waiting...........
👍👍👍
Thanks!!!
0 truck windows. 1 barn window
Yup!
He never broke a window out of the back of a truck in 50 years. Cause if he did it as a kid. He would have to pay for it. 😳
Yup!! You are correct!
We joke about breaking the back window whenever I load wood lol. Gotta try harder because it hasn’t happened. Yet
Good morning all!
Good morning to you too Kurt!
That is a great score on the ash logs. They are gone in Ohio. The ones that are still standing aren't worth cutting. When they drop, they bust up like they were made of clay.
Yup, ash rots fast...It's not like oak.
Never broke a window 👍🏻

Close but no cigar...I love my Husqvarnas... what is a still? For makin' liquor? Or is it no motion....yup...that's it!
Truck windows broken...0
Barn windows broken... well
Yup!
To be clear, I’m not saying it wasn’t a face cord but just a heads up a lot of those metal racks like that are not 4ft tall. Usually 3-3.5 ft.
Yup, I have measured them too that's why I make sure it is well over that.
Never even nearly broke a window
It might be worth getting one of your log truck operators to drop by and take a load rather than all those shuttle runs.
No because the owner does not want trucks in there and I can haul as he cuts and he would need to have a whole truck load to make it worth it for me, that could take months. It is not far.
Never, ever has he ever.
Yup!
