The really funny thing is that many Uruguayan teenagers from the eighties (like me) grew up thinking that this song was sung by The Beatles.
Shakers, made in Uruguay,
Gracias Uruguay!!! Siempre dando lo mejor!!! Qué músicos tenemos!!!
So proud of my country 🇺🇾
Saludos compatriota ❤

Los Shakers was a successful 🇺🇾 60'sRock band Beatles style and this song belongs to them.lts bandleader Hugo Fattoruso multi-instrumentalist musician still lives in Montevideo City.

Beautiful my Uruguay!
These guys couldn't be more Geniuses ... !! , they were at the level of any international band ...
The Uruguayan Beatles! Please listen The Mockers to, another great band of Uruguay, Rolling Stones style! Grettings from Montevideo.
MUY BUEN GRUPO Y SEGUIRAN SIENDO RECORDADOS COMO LO QUE FUERON, MUY BUENOS.
Great Job!!! Congrats from Argentina
Quede 😮. Es tremendo. ❤❤❤
The Beatles were the british Shakers
Yes, this was an amazing song in the '60s, including the band "Los Shakers". This song was played by different performers in several countries (ie USA, UK-Cavern, Germany-Mas Shake band). In USA you have Nick Martellaro at UA-cam where he is very fond with several Los Shakers songs the he performs. Definitely Los Shakers were very good musicians and composers.
SON siguen de gira y componiendo
Loved that, Rob. For me the 60's was the best musical decade, even though it was before my time. Keep finding these hidden gems and react to them.
They deserved much more success
@@omegajrz1269 They did, in the '60s and in Latin America, what is such a pity is that, being outstanding musicians, they didn't earn the money they deserved and for which they worked so much. Oh, Latin America, if they were Americans or British, their destiny would have been sooo different...
@@amiquigonzales7917 Did you know that the Fattorusso brothers lived in the US in the 70s?
I am not being mean, but for instance, did the Beatles or the Rolling Stones compose songs in another language? Please tell me, apart from Michelle, ma belle, sont les mots qui vont très bien ensemble and Las palabras de Amor, let me hear the words of love, despacito mi amor, love me slow and gently from Queen, I can't see who COMPOSED AND WROTE LYRICS, let alone songs, in another language. Los Shakers are native Spanish speakers and spoke just little English,
@@omegajrz1269 I didn't, so they learned English well or just stayed inside a Latin bubble? Music is universal, such a pity they didn't get at the time the recognition they deserved. Then, after the Beatlemania came the surf, the psychodelic wave, an updated rock-and-roll, disco music, etc. that music style by the end of the '60s wasn't in anymore.
Acá les dejo la letra.
We want you to come
We want you to hear
We want you to dance
Dance all night long
But when the music starts
Don't stay there like a fool
And break it all
You listen me, break it all
You forget you're tired
You forget you're sad
Can I shake and dance
With friends tonight
But when the music starts
Don't stay there like a fool
And break it all
You listen me, break it all
If you're alone and nobody shakes with you
Oh, please don't mind and shake - oh yeah!
Now, we're know you're fine
Do the shake, do the shake - oh yeah!
And break it all
You listen me, break it all
We want you to come
We want you to hear
We want you to dance
Dance all night long
But when the music starts
Don't stay there like a fool
And break it all
You listen me, break it all
When you're alone and nobody shakes with you
Oh, please don't mind and shake - oh yeah!
Now, we're know you're fine
Do the shake, do the shake - oh yeah!
And break it all
You listen me break it all
We want you to come
We want you to hear
We want you to dance
Dance all night long
But when the music starts
Don't stay there like a fool
And break it all
You listen me, break it all
And break it all
You listen me, break it all
And break it all
You listen me, break all
Vivan Los Shakers !!
The shakers began imitating the beatles and ended up surpassing them
Rob, you should check the jazz/fusion trio OPA.
Uruguay nomaaaaaa ⚽ 🧉 🇺🇾 🎸
Yeaaah!! Excellent Robk. A big hug from Montevideo / Uruguay to all rock n 'roll

A classic alongside the beatles down here on the South, cheers!
for decades i tought it was a beatles song hahahaha
Great song, absolutely Beatlemaniac!
Sad history. 1963/65. They were teenagers at that time. They signed a bad contract with an Argentinian disc label. And they never received a penny for their own work. They also lost all rights to their own music. That lead to the band dissolution.

I recommend Los Mokers paint the blank

Yeah, Los Saicos were definitively the pioneers of Punk Rock, there's no doubts on it
@@NecroEddie I remember my dad at the time, hair rised, after listening to Los Saicos in a Matinal in Lima, and saying that his daughter, me 7, was NEVER going to be a music fan with that schizophrenic music teenagers were composing. Oh, for parents at the time, born in the '20s and devout catholics, this was music from hell. I miss you dad, but I loved rock and roll, you were right certainly not Los Saicos.
Inolvidables forever, Yeahhhh
thank you for the video
Great Song!!!
Actually is very funny because they don't speak English at all, and they wrote the lyrics when they sign with a producer
And sang phonetically.
🇺🇾🎸🎶🎤
Uruguay nomaaaaaaa 🇺🇾
For a moment I though I was listening to the Beatles
Before being the shakers, the line-up were expert jazz musicians.
For them, was easy to copy beatle style.
The singer said he didnt know speaking english.
Not only you, at the time in South America everybody thought it was The Beatles or either an American band.
Pure Rock
React to "l hope you like it 042" from Shakers too...

Suena muy bien Psiglo.
You should listen to The Knacks, they were a Beat/ Garage band from Argentina that was criminally underated after they were banned by the militar goverment for sing in english.
Fun fact most of them didn't know a word of English, only one of the fatorusso brothers did
Osvaldo
Escucha a opa de uruguay y despues contame hermano abrazo
The saddest thing of all is that this band of Uruguayan musicians did not earn a single coin with the records, the record company took advantage of them
How do you know about that?
@@omegajrz1269
Because I am Uruguayan and because I know one of the members of the band personally
they unconsciously signed for ODEON ceding all rights and receiving crumbs
Not reading the fine print of the contract was the biggest mistake of the young people of that time
There are hundreds of videos where Hugo Fattorusso tells how everything happened

Hugo Fattoruso is one of the best musicians in the world at the jazz level and admired. He was the main component of that band
