My ex reached out a week ago begging for forgiveness after he ended our engagement 3 years ago. I forgave him a while ago now he wants to see me ( I declined) he also asked I could be his friend (I declined) not interested in in having him be a part if my life again too much pain there I'm still doing the self work and won't all old feelings to diminish my progress. I wished him well!

I am in No contact its been 44 days , In between it was her birthday on 15feb , I didn't wish her , she posted a whatsapp status on 24th Feb, which was a online picture with a message over breakups , something around the lines , that dwelling on the past can take so much of your mental space and slowly release the grip it has on your heart , in simple words , the message clearly said that she is moving on , At first I was devastated to see that , but then I also thought it might be a bait to get me to text her and again chase her , as I chased begged and pleaded for 2 months after breakup , so I stayed no contact , your ex reaching out after 3 years, this gave me hope.
I love her very much , but I don't want to cry myself to sleep every night. It hurts so much.

It is frustrating that they only seem to want you once you have gotten over them.
It's because they left thinking they could find someone better and they usually don't find anyone better, they just find someone different or worse and they like to think they always have you on the back burner which give them confidence to keep looking for someone better. If they ever did come back, it's only because they're settling and couldn't find anything better.

Hear my story : My ex gf dumped me a month and a half ago, I applied no contact the next day, she reached out one week later to ask how I was, to which I said "fine thx", then she reached out again one week after to say the break up was difficult for her, then one week after she reached out to ask me to be friends, to which I said "no", then one week after she asked for her stuff back, I casually gave it back to her, we had a little chitchat, a coffee and I left, one week after she reached out again saying she wanted to meet and talk, I said "ok sure". Tonight we met and she told me she realized she had feelings and wanted back into the relationship, to which I said " we can try, slowly".
So now a new phase begin, my ex came back after dumping me, no contact works.

This happened twice, when she sees me after a long time nc she want me back in a relationship. But when we start spending time together she says she does not want it and gets flakey and distant. This has happened twice in a few weeks. I just mirror her emotions, if she pulls back I got to outer space. It is tiring playing this game.

Yeah, the problem with that is these people leave you because they want to find someone better and when they realize they can't find anyone else or the person they left you for wasn't interested in them so they come back begging because they couldn't find oneone better and they just settle for you. Sometimes people do genuinely miss the one they broke up with but it'd almost always because they couldn't find anything better.

It has been two and a half weeks of no contact and it’s been hard. For 13 years I’ve been the one chasing, making the sacrifices, pouring my heart and soul into him, just for him to break things off with me. I got my ex back. Now I wish I had let her go. I found out 2 years later that she was cheating on me during that time. She lied to get back with me. I asked if there was somebody else and she said no. So I took her back. When a woman leaves a long term relationship there is always another guy she’s been cheating with before she leaves. Especially if she says I need space. I’ve never seen a case where there wasn’t. Almost 90 days into NC now, I’m doing much better but part of me still has so much love for my ex. I’m matured so much as a person. I graduated and started my first professional job. I could finally treat my partner to all the amazing things she always wanted but she’s gone now. And I’ll always love her from a distance but sometimes I wish I could reach out and fix things. No contact while at a distance means you never initiate contact with them.
I did no contact in a ldr and he came back. Works the same: don’t contact them. They know how to communicate with you, and they can, should they choose to.
Agreed on more content on ldr PLUS no social media. No contact isn’t that hard when you never see someone online.

We broke up 2 months ago. She lead me on 2 weeks after that. (Giving me boyfriend treatment. I haven’t spoken to her in almost a month and she’s angry. Questions why I don’t talk to her over messages or at work. She even removed me on all social media’s and followed me back then deleted me again.
I don’t think she knows what she wants but I’m staying in no contact. I’m not hoping for her to comeback after dumping me. I’m happy on my own after processing a lot in no contact
I thought my ex had been bread-crumbing me, and I provided casual and polite responses as recommended by Coach Lee. Then he asked me to do something together, so we finally had a conversation where I said I couldn't be friends because I want more, and he was literally shocked that I still had feelings for him. He was under the impression from my casual/polite responses that I was 100% over him and he had assumed I was dating someone else. He legit thought we could do things together from time to time in a non-romantic way as he misses me and my friendship, as an activity partner, etc. We'll see what happens next. I'm grateful for Coach Lee's casual/polite advice either way, it has really helped me keep my emotions more stable throughout this ordeal.

No contact going on 10 months so its over but I'm glad so maybe no contact doesnt work for all relation ships ( getting ex back) but I still think about this when she dumped me a friend told me 50% of your problems walked out the door!!! I know there are rebound type videos. The bottom line, at some future point, needs to be, "I can't be in a relationship with someone who doesn't KNOW they want to be WITH ME!" Don't settle for being a "fall back" choice. Be strong.

I think you are confusing the sensation of loss with love - because a lot of the feelings (of obsession) are similar between the both. If you were to get her back tomorrow morning, a lot of that obsession would probably go away instantly. Also, I don’t think you are emotionally dependent, feeling like that is normal in situations like this.
That’s right, i also tend to think i was in love with how she made me feel, and it’s probably mutual. She left saying she still loves me and that I’m a great guy that i treated her good and made her feel special etc .

My ex still keeps initiating intimate contact 6 months after the break up and the conversation and everything goes really well, but when I ask to get coffee or see face to face they say they're scared to meet and say it would be too emotional for them. Then i say okay I understand and go back to no contact, but they still initiate convo everyday and talk the same way like we're still together. How do I deal with this?

We were only together a month, but friends for years. We said we loved each other. But she is going through personal stuff and just "isn't ready now", but says "maybe someday". And we "moved too fast"

I’m in a similar situation. Them wanting to remain friends is actually a good sign that the break up might be temporary or that she is not 100% sure about the breakup.
Don’t formally reject her offer of friendship, that will just push her away because she doesn’t want a relationship (at least in the moment). But you have to understand that at some point she DID want to be in a relationship with you. The fact that something had changed in her mind, means her mind can change again - so have confidence in that throughout this. But make sure you don’t act like a friend to her anymore like you used to before the relationship. Trust me when I say, it true friendship never works after being in a relationship with someone. It will always be very awkward for the both of you, while she will know all along that you still have feelings for her (understandably so). This kind of dynamic will definitely kill her attraction to you.
Also understand that friendships are not all that different from relationships, in fact they are a type of relationship. It’s even in the name - if she is your girl(friend) she has to be your friend too.
You should give her the space that she is asking for, this will actually do two things: make you come across as mature for respecting her wishes and also will give her the time and space to actually miss you (she will end up missing both your friendship and relationship). I think your best move it to go into no contact now, though respond to her if she reaches out - just make your response sound more like an Ex-Boyfriend and less like a regular friend. Good luck!
@ual_130 I appreciate your thoughts. Good points. Best of luck in your situation as well. I'm gunna focus on attracting rather than chasing, and operating from a position of strength and stability. Sooner or later the right person will come along who appreciates what we have to offer.
nr 3 - I think, one of the reason that people are upset when they broke up with sb and saw that this person started to date sb else - in short time - is that they realised, they have been just one of options not priority/true love like that person tried to show. It's difficult to trust somebody if you aren't sure that their feelings are true. So sometimes people decide to finish relationship and when they see that this person found somebody else easily, it's like a proof that they didn't truly love you. Secondly if you see how many times people can change partners, this is always the reason to be careful to trust somebody. Anyway always give a chance for person for who you are priority and this person is priority for you - this is love when you both don't see options just yourselves like priorities - that love never die, doesn't hurt and heals everything

How long ago was the break up? Learn Coach Lee's "Stages Your EX goes through." Your ex might get to the point of fearing he may lose you, and then reach out. Otherwise, you're giving him the break up he's asked for. Who cares if he gets mad? What are you supposed to do, pine away waiting for him to come back. If you were fired from your job, you wouldn't either show up at work the next day or sit around hoping to get a call back. It may not be healthy for you to get in a relationship right away....maybe 6 months post break up...but a date or two for fun is your business.

Love is nothing more than a chemical reaction in your brain. Love it self is absolutely no reason to stay with someone who is toxic or incompatible OR to accept someone back in to your life who didn't appreciate you and is only coming back because they're settling for you

8 years...that bites! Compound that with a break up text no less. Totally classless. Take care of yourself. Get a new hobby or jump back into an old one. Spring and summer are coming. Get outside and walk or exercise. Join a "meet up" group to do an activity you like. In time, the EX will be far in the rear view mirror.

My dumper reached out one week post breakup to meetup and have a closure talk. When I told him I was not interested in a talk like that he blew up my phone with a lengthy message. He seemed shocked about me saying no and standing my ground. I was always there when he needed me throughout our relationship. Could it have triggered something in him about what he is losing? I'm not sure if I want him back if he decides to come back.. because I know I always supported him and treated him well..

Coach Lee is the King...All of his guidance is spot on. Ex is making her moves to come back, trying to bait me into contacting her which is comical/frustrating. Liking all my FB posts all of a sudden, posting pictures of foods she would make me that I loved, posting pictures of her dog on a Sat night in the spot next to her on the couch so I know she's alone, etc. Staying strong and just watching the pressure build - And coming back to Coach Lee's videos when I feel a moment of weakness coming on. Coach, you should do more videos on things ex's will do to bait you into breaking no contact and whether you should (NO!!!). Thx!!

My ex broke up with me after 2 years overall good relationship I didn't see the break up coming, went no contact for 1 year and 1 year to almost the day of the break up my ex shows up at my child's school out of nowhere, she opens my car door, lashes out at me, punches me in the head, I never said a word during her screaming or punching me. There was never anything close to this in our relationship, I had to have some self respect and be a example to my girls so I pressed charges and was given a restraining order against her, I feel like a wuss doing this as a man against a woman. To keep no contact during a punch and screaming woman is the championship belt of no contact, I don't know why she did this, she had been posting on social media how happy she was, and her new relationship so why bother me??

You did the right thing. I was assaulted by an ex, avoided getting authority involved as it made me feel like a wimp too. It happened again, i allowed it again for the same reason. It happened a third time and i happened to get it recorded on her pet camera, took the footage, showed her and threatened to press charges. It never happened again and that finally gave me enough to move on. Looking back, i should have done it the first time. Thats what she would have done if the cards were reversed.

I won’t lie. I am truly struggling with this whole ordeal with my ex. It hurts very badly and I don’t know what else I’m to do. Sometimes exes don't come back that is the reality of life
Find someone else that will make you happy it may be that she wasn't destined for you
Stop expecting them to come back I promise you will be happy
From my experience exes contact you when you're not expecting them and that is the bitter truth the more you expect them the more depressed you become use ur breakup to improve yourself and meet new people

How recent was your breakup? Was it amicable or messy? How did you react? I'm not trying to be nosey. These are all things that are addressed in Coach Lee and Coach Ken videos. Listen to them seriously because you can learn things about why your relationship ended and how to become less anxious. You can even schedule a coaching session with one of them. I know how much it hurts. I promise it's not permanent. The more days pass, the better you'll be.
@@terryguers3150 it has been an up and down battle. Breadcrumbs and not letting go on both ends. The break up wasn’t bad necessarily but we just lacked the ability to communicate our needs in that time. So it was a lot of arguing and then it became cold. Then hot. Then cold. Then periods of not talking but still the I love yous and then it went to no talking at all. Then something traumatic happened and I tried to be there and it was like I was able to but only so far. Then back to the uncertainty. Then literally almost a month of not talking and then a text and then nothing and then I text and then nothing. 🥲. It really really really hurts.
Point 5 is most common, they will seek help from you which doesnt make sense....be wary of that trap😂
This month makes it a year post break up. All of these things are happening. I've kept her in NC since August of last year.

I responded the next morning neutrally and I told her essentially if she had a problem to come address it face to face. She never did. She's done the typical smear campaign and flying monkeys tactics but I've stood with all 10 toes in the ground on my beliefs and boundaries...I know she misses me and regrets the fumbled since I never chased at all.... at this point I care and love me and don't really care if she ever comes back. I moved on in life with therapy and goals, I look at her lifeless eyes now and I see it all ol in them.

A while ago, I was able to tell you the exact number of days. Now all I know is that it is somewhere between 45 and 60. Feeling much better about myself and looking forward to a good spring and summer. It's possible to move ahead, even though it might seem hard right now.
@terryguers3150 weeks 6 to 8 is when an exes separation anxiety is usually the highest so around 45 to 60 days is correct. Mine asked to see me on day 40 but I'm back in contact again cause he still was noncommittal.

Very good start. Remember, it's okay to be polite and casual. Give them the breakup they asked for. Just match their level of communication or a little less. If they try to return to a relationship with you, Coach Lee says the response is, "I'm open to it, but I'm not sure. I need to take it day by day." Make your ex "earn" you back.

Most break ups end up break ups again. Keep that in mind. Also, why did she leave you? Was she looking for something better and she couldn't find it or she did find someone and they dumped her? I'd be questioning why she left and what happened while she was gone
Facts. Most family members make it worse. Especially if your ex is a decent human being. Your family will make inferences either way. Even if you're fine they could still tell your ex anything if the have a well-meaning agenda to keep you two together.
I'd just keep it real and just tell them you're trying to heal. And to please respect that process by not bringing the ex up in any way. They'll usually respect it and know you're serious.

Inaction breeds attraction. Get focused on yourself, health and purpose. Become playful and keep it light if you see her. Basically move on. If she comes back, great. If not, that’s great too because you’re moving on.

That’s a good sign, it means your ex is moving back in your direction BUT probably has not yet finished the whole process. Whatever you have been doing (assuming no contract) must be working, so don’t stop now. It’s working in this situation, so continuing doing it and let you Ex continue to move back in your direction. 2 weeks is well within the timeline! Good luck

Alright, now is probably a good time to reach back out because at this point you probably have nothing to lose. The stages the dumped and the dumper go through after a breakup are actually inverses. That’s why I would no do no contact if you are the dumper - because time is running out day over day. The dumper first feels relief, then curiosity, then loss. The dumped feels loss, then curiosity, then relief. This is how it usually works but not always. If I where you I would not try to slowly re-initiate content with him, you should just do straight in to a conversation maturely telling him you made a huge mistake with the break up, have feelings for him, and ask him to reconsider. After he said to be friends, going no contact was the best move. But I think as the dumper, he is expecting you to fix everything. After 2.5 months, this is the time to reach out to him. This is because separation anxiety peaks around 6-8 weeks. If he still wants to be friends, going back into no contact again probably won’t be worth it at that point. Just be really thoughtful about how you send that “clean slate” message asking him to take you back.
