My first Yakuza game. Gave it a shot when I was bored browsing GamePass because I heard it was good and full of silly funny bullshit. WASN'T PREPARED FOR IT TO MAKE ME FUCKING CRY 😢
Yakuza 7 has the game of the franchise i had more skepticism, i was afraid of not liking turn based, of the whacky nature not being my style, of ichiban not being kyriu. But i was wrong, ichi story teached me that even at our lowest point we can still look up and try. Just like kyriu he is a true men.
Ichiban grew on me so fast. Kiryu was a great role model too, but Ichi is (to use a cliche) "the hero we need right now." Kiryu was a living legend who could never leave his glamorized "Dragon of Dojima" past behind no matter how much he tried. Ichi is a nobody who keeps getting kicked when he's down, but always claws his way out of the gutter with a smile. He sets the example for our generation.
Dunno why but to me this song is never like a sad song that in "sad" context, to me it's more like a song that tell me a story about a guy who was once hold a greatness in their hand, telling their story to someone about that great heroic day. It make me tear up not because the context is sad, but more like tear up because that great day has been long gone. To me it's because that 1:24 part, it sound sad but heroic at the same time.

Arakawa knew ichi was his son hence why he asked ichi if he wanted to know who his parent we're, But when ichi answered that I doesn't matter to him anymore. Arakawa just decided to not tell him but he subtley tells him by saying he got a dream that his son was raised in a seaplane the same way ichi did.
Arakawa knew. It's likely why he went and saved Ichi the first time because once he looked at his face for the first time he saw Akane. So a finger for his son was worth it to him alone. It's also why he let Ichi be with Masato the entire time. He wanted them to be brothers, which only Ichi took seriously until the end.

To me this is unofficially Arakawa's theme. It fits so perfectly with his dark and tragic past.
I kinda hate how they use it for basically anything in the sequel. Even sidequests will hit you with this music and it just doesn't fit.
