- It's almost time to submit those apps! With the clock ticking, you may be wondering how you can make your application stand out among all the others. Here are some small things I did on my application last year that I believe contributed to my success in the process. If you don't know my story, I was originally denied by every college that I applied to as a high school student but found success my second time around applying as a transfer student. My hard work and dedication lead to acceptance by UC Berkeley, Davis, Santa Barbara, San Diego, and UCLA, where I now attend as an Applied Linguistics major. Every year there is a record number of applicants to these schools but hopefully these tips will help you put your best foot forward and submit a solid application. Best of luck!
