- Event footage from the Great North 10k! A chance to run the same starting route as its big brother in September, the Great North 10K loops back over the Tyne Bridge and into Newcastle city centre.
A couple of steep inclines and 6000 other runners makes this one a tricky event for newbies but a fantastic warm up for the Great North Run in a couple of months.

@@SwimBikeRunStu from my previous experience the GNR is even busier with 10x the amount of runners. It feels busy at times but it also makes for a great atmosphere, if you see me there make sure you say hello!
Great vid and good running sir. That’s me walking at 9k in the light blue top, 14.45 in the vid - the shame! I did manage that (slight) sprint finish at 15.44 though! Hope your training is going well 🙂

@@rollercoasterofrunning Absolutely! I found the second half very tough, probs went too quick the first 5k as usual. Not too chuffed with my time, but like you say, getting through it is all that matters! Good running 🙂
Wow, I heard Tyne Bridge was congested but that looks ridiculous. I was lucky to have set off a bit earlier and it was fine.
@@marcelopoku-owusu3723 yeah thankfully everyone around us seemed to be patient. At least the Great North Run will all be one way traffic!
I actually saw you heading up that hill just after the Tyne Bridge but was on the opposite side. Hope you enjoyed it 🤘🏻
