It took me 34 years to finally let go of expectations and being disappointed if things don’t go exactly the way I want. I turned 34 this year and I finally feel like I can just go with the flow and let what will be just be. And it was the best birthday and Christmas yet! New Year’s resolution is to finally put my health first. I never took care of myself and always put everyone else’s needs before mine. Not just to lose weight but actually go to the doctor and keep up with my health. If I don’t start prioritizing myself then I will not be around to take care of others. We only get one life and I want to enjoy it. Thanks for the vid Tiff! You do you girl! 😊

For the playroom: Maybe just attach some doors to that room for when you’re feeling overwhelmed? I think if the room is trashed/you’re not feeling it, you can just shut the doors, and it won’t seem so overwhelming (out of sight out of mind for the time being). I know this would be a temporary solution until you have time to clean it or the motivation to clean it, but I think it will help? I understand leaving the doors open when the kids are in there playing so you can watch them, but maybe just for some peace of mind put some doors on that room for those times that are too overwhelming, it’s like you know the mess is still there and needs to be taken care of, but you’ll get to it when you’re ready kind of mentality. Hope this helps! ♥️

Totally agree we should do what makes us happy and comfortable in our own homes. For the first time ever I’m leaving my Christmas decorations up until January. It’s what works for my schedule and energy this year. I like to take time to put away the decorations, repairing, decluttering and restocking (ornament hangers, tape for the wrapping bag etc) as I go so when I open it all next year it’s ready to go.

I've always undecorated after Christmas and when i was a kid my mom always did too..I put up my decorations and tree Nov 1st..It just feels good and like to get everything back to normalcy.. Love your vudeos Tiffani..

I leave my tree up and nativity up till the first week of January. Anything else that's christmas I take down and place in storage containers. Also I still leave my pillows on the couch. After that week in January, I will decorate some type of winter theme. Also glad you all are fine and wanted to wish you and your family a Happy New Years

Thank you for sharing. I also took down all my indoor Christmas decorations, including the tree. I only have a small area for a tree, and after a while, it causes me anxiety, so down it goes. I would like to think I can enjoy the holiday with my family with or without the decorations. I am blessed that I have a tree when many will not be able to afford one. So I count my blessings and make beautiful memories while I can.
I started doing the in decorating gradually because taking the decorations down makes my kids sad! I start slowly with the Santa type of stuff but tend to leave the more just winter type of stuff like the snowman stuff and my village houses into January so that by the time we take that stuff down we can decorate for Valentine’s Day! It helps keep the sadness of the holidays being over away for us.

I just do that since it's the last day before the craziness begins and I head back to work. Love watching you go through your home. I think I will start decluttering one thing every weekend. 🎉 every year my friend and set a word or phrase to be our goal for the new year. I’ve going to try to let go of things I have no control over. I’m a chronic people pleaser and I will meditate on a situation for days on how I handled it or should have. Self work is the best work.

Thank you so much for this video today. Your videos always motivate me to get up and clean but today I needed it more than ever. I think I'm getting the flu and I needed to get my house cleaned (it looks like a tornado went through it from Christmas) before I'm out of commission for the next week.
One of my resolutions is to stick to my dinner plans too we have done sooo much fast food in December 😊health & balance are my words for the year! ❤
its not easy becuase they second you are sick or overwhelmed or out of certain groceries its like ok lets just order. Balance is always a struggle for me but I feel like im gettting there!
My New Years Resolution for 2024 is hopefully sticking to a budget with ordering out too! I want to be more mindful to meal prepping and giving my growing family a good meal most times of the week.
I also want to wish more people Happy Birthday. Whether that be online, or in person, I just want to wish them well on their special day. I believe birthdays are awesome as it was the day that person came to existence. And I think that's worth celebrating or just a shout out.

Idea for playroom from a disabled teacher:
Make the play areas into opened corner play stations, put tables in the middle of the room or if the stations are big enough, in the middle of the station by a wall. Keep no more than 3-4 toys on a shelf at a time. (Sometimes 4 can even be too much) create a scene with purpose making a star prop once a month and rotate. Like food basket and food with only 3 dress up one month, then next month set up dress up as main attraction and stick most foods and table sonewhere new or up away etc. That might be a bit much as a mom but it's been something I've continued to do with my kids after no longer teaching. It can be fun and gives more purpose to their play. I would put most toys away during holidays and just put themed activities up and see which toys they missed the most after Xmas. Then donate the rest. Hope some of this inspires you. I have more ideas I'm just a bit brain fogged myself right now. Glad to see you back!

The Kalisz cubes work really nice to organize toys especially payed horizontally. You get three surfaces to place the toys on sort of like shelving and the bigger toys can go on the top most surface makes it a great space saver and you can keep most of them this way too
It's unbelievable how fast the Christmas holiday came and went! The time seems to be going faster and faster! I wish it would slow down some! Life is so busy for everyone. Everyone seems to barely get time to slow down and catch their breath. My husband had a back surgery that turned out to be question complicated. He's recovering, despite a few setbacks. Our daughter-in-law had shoulder surgery the week before Christmas. That sure is rough during the holidays. Just so thankful they're both moving forward in their recoveries. So here's to a slower, more relaxed January!

A couple years ago I undecorated my tree at the end of January but left the tree with lights until March as my winter tree. It was what felt right that year.
Hi, Tiffani, have you thought about doing board and batten on the wall in the dining room? Also replacing the blinds with floor to ceiling curtains would take it up a notch in my opinion.

One of my resolutions is to not spend as much money and utilize what I already own. I put my decorations away the day after Christmas too.
I started undecorating today and had an ugly cry about it lol I love Christmas and decorating for it, but definitely ready to take it down after the magic of the 25th is over. Like I said, had an ugly meltdown while doing it, but it’s great to start the new year with a fresh house.
aw last night I felt really emotional about it because every year the kids are bigger and less like kids. Im glad the upstairs decor is still up though its like easing me into it lol

I actually started to undecorate today, too. I took everything out of the kitchen and the half bathroom. Waiting on the rest until we celebrate Christmas with my stepkids on New Year’s Day. And then it will be a slow process because I will be back at work the day after New Year’s Day.

I got the exact pickle jar for my husband for Christmas! I always try to get him one silly gift. It’s perfect too because he loves pickles and olives, I may need to get another one. I was so sick 1 week before Christmas sinus infection & bad toothache,fever for 2 days, insomnia,yes swore i had codvid cause so very tired for days but didn't have it. Got in emergency dental visit had to pay $247 saved for xmas cause was in-between medical insurance but my health comes first. So glad you & i are feeling better TIFFANY!!🥰🥰🥰 ( Love the new music who is that btw)??
I remember growing up we had the tree up until February only because we were catholic and celebrated Jesus and three kings day which is Jan 6th but our tree wasn’t put up till dec12 so might seem reasonable to keep up till February 1st. Now that I have my own family I only keep it up until Jan 1st 😅30 days is reasonable for me personally 🥰
To spend more quality time with my kids is New Year’s resolution 💖
