This was extremely satisfying, the amount of nostalgia mixed with your soothing voice and creative voice documentation took me on an adventure, keep it up brah u deserve more subs
Man,I would love to get this version when go to japan next year. Your vids trully needs more exposure to spread this version and made those collector knew what collection they missed all this time.
That model wasn't sold in Japan - the '3' on the end of the part number is "Asia" - I.E. Asia outside Japan. They were mostly sold in Hong Kong, although apparently there were some sold in Singapore too. They used to be relatively common in HK, but seem much harder to find now.
Hey Ryan, I just came across one of these that sadly was modified, would it be possible to have it sent to you to get that mod chip desoldered. The system came in great shape but obviously that mod chip, albeit usually good messes with these very rare systems.
I bought a badly yellowed VCD model and followed your guide; it's back to white now! Thanks a lot! Awesome guide. I'd like to ask, have you ever tried that method on colored plastic? I.e. I have a green debugging station that's showing some light yellowing, but nothing too bad. I'm a bit scared to ruin the color since it's not really necessary to deyellow it.
Glad you got it looking better! I’ve seen the blues and greens darken a bit over time, you could give it a try with a very very light mixture but the green debuggers in particular tend to go super fragile. For some reason over time they go incredibly brittle so handle with care!
I believe they can use any normal PS1 laser providing the two cables reach - there’s nothing unique about the laser assembly (I might have used a PSOne laser in the past)

@@TrimeshSZ It said NTSC-J on the back of the console, indicating that it's a Japanese PS1.
Keep up the good work. Seemed really detailed. 👍
Thanks!
Just found your channel, you're awesome!

Whats the difference between this version and the launch model?
It plays Video CD media discs from factory, is white instead of grey and was released in Hong Kong only.
What Sony Bravia TVs model is that?
It's a KDL-15G2000
Has your retrobright method left streaks on anything you've tested before?
No streaks using this method, the only time I did have streaking was putting the creme directly on plastic.
Anyone know where to get one of these in 2024?
how to remove scratches? thanks
Honestly, I used a budget (completely white) tooth paste mixture with water and gently polished them out.
@@RyanUkAus thanks 🙂
