It sucks, but from what I've read, Ryan decided not to renew his contract, and GH wasn't sure how well fans would respond to a recast. I remember in a twitter post, Ryan did say that "for now, yes, Nathan West will be gone." In another post, he also hinted that you can always visit people in their dreams. So, if Ryan does come back, it will be as the ghost of Nathan West. They'll probably do a storyline where his and Maxie's son gets really sick. Nathan will appear to his wife, and give her the strength she needs. That is my prediction. And I will be crying the entire time.

This story line reminds me of nikolas and Courtney since Courtney couldn't hold her son and giving birth prematurely
i do feel sorry for Maxie that Nathan die i know she miss him so much but will be ok she has friends and family to help her
