- This video clip was recorded early on St. Patrick's Day, Sunday 17th March 2024 between Sexton Street North and Sexton Street (which are sine distance apart).
At the time of recording VWD427 was one of thirty-seven diesel or diesel hybrid buses remaining in the NTA/Bus Éireann Limerick City Services fleet with electrification of the fleet having commenced a month earlier.
As a result of road closures in the city centre (St. Patrick's Day Parade), many southbound Route 303 services were forced to divert via Thomond Bridge, Island Road, Lock Quay and Cathedral Place.
All of these fossil fuel powered buses were in the process of being displaced by Wright Streetdeck Electroliners.
Hello, in Galway we have currently pad's and soon galway is getting ewd's aswell due to busconnects
Unfortunately it appears there’s still no sign of the broken MCs although apparently MC312 returned a few days ago but didn’t track
vwd51 is on 306. i think ur right its the latter or again they kept the vwls off the road
wait i did'nt know the 2020 b5tls also had bad idle when stopping despite being 4 years old but i dont know why
i was on the 304 the other day right u never guess what happened. a man banged on the window for the driver to let him on as he was pulling out when he could'nt stop next thing he ran so fast to upper william street to catch him and driver saw him he gave out to him saying when the bus is pulling out dont be banging on the window its distracting the driver you should'nt have done that you should have waited for next bus
I’m guessing Cork will be getting VWDs 421-424 and 426-428 which would mean we’ll effectively have every single dual door VWD
ya i guess so
Apart from the maverick VWD425 probably 😀😀😀
@@paulbelfastlimerick i think vwd425 is still in drogheda
What shade of green was the driver waiting for?
PAD 131 & 135 are on the 220
nice
i think there's now vwl317 and 325 left in limerick
I was wondering about that too Liam as VWD422 was on the 306 yesterday so I was assuming that either they had two VWLs off the road or that two had left but I think it may be the latter now!
@@paulbelfastlimerick indeed
i think vwls and vwds still in the depot because limerick is still waiting for the final batch i think thats why they are still here paul
3:14 what was the other driver pointing at?
Not sure actually.
@@paulbelfastlimerick same
and vwl317 on 305
I Wonder how an ewd sounds like , is it nice being On one? Is it a totally different story then the Pad
ya
They are nice and quiet on the outside but there is a bit of electronic wailing and groaning on the inside. However, despite that, they are fantastic to travel on.
Alright, thanks for that great information, good to know. Also, what do you prefer the Pad's or the EWD
@IrishTransportAndWeather I love the EWDs but I am getting nostalgic for the PADs now that they are beginning to drift south to Cork!
like i said before i think vwd421 to 428 could go cork. vwd50 51 52 53 56 57 58 could go louth
Unfortunately VWDs 20, 37 & 411 are still missing
@@Busandtrainluvr2k oh no i dont know where they are gone to
@@Busandtrainluvr2k incase u did'nt see my text i said vwl313 has'nt been in service over a week in limerick
@@Busandtrainluvr2k also limerick could lose vwl313 316 317 and 325 end of this month or start of april
