On my server (Official PvE) I dont need to trap the parent at all. I just wear full ghillie and sit in the nest. No fert-eggs, no nothing and the parent still ignores me. Classic wildcard patch.
I go naked just tamed a 135 today
I tamed a 150 and a 140 and the babies stopped prompting after the 2nd prompted so I let the parent out of the trap to return to nest then re-trapped the parent and continued this back and forth until the baby tamed.
I tried this with a lvl 70 and it never worked. I love the Wildcard devs
To all the people wondering why it isnt working for them, nooblets forgot to update the mod itself. Unfortunately this video is completely inaccurate. Not his fault of course.
The parent can technically still be trapped but it cannot remain trapped through the whole tame as thier seems to be a timer for how long the parent can be away from the nest before the baby will stop trying to dance. Ive found that im able to get about 4 dances before the parent must be released from the trap and return to the nest to reset the timer. On top of that, there are very specific traps that work now.
A 4x4 box trap 1½ walls high with ramps all around and an egg placed in the center will work but youll need a way to release it after the timer is up. Ive been using my rhynio and picking it up and dropping it as fast as possible to keep it from aggroing me. There seems to be a high chance with this trap that the G-raptor doesnt even eat the egg allowing you to reuse it and ultimately use significantly less eggs plus you dont gotta worry about watching the parent for when it comes back to the nest.
If anyone is able to improve upon this (which im sure is possible as this trap is very unoptimized) feels free to let me know. Keep in mind ive tested putting a gate on one side of the trap and it causes all sorts of jank with the reliability of the trap

the mother female has to be eating the egg so the baby will come and play with you
so trap does NOT do anything now even if you trap it
you have to get eggs for it
on official i had 4 brono eggs and i only make it to 80% taming
so i thing 6 brono eggs will be fine
i wouldnt say it teleported out of the trap hit rewind looks like bird was meshed in door when u closed it also i have a problem when using gates i use 8 metal billboards

i think the large Beartrap messed up the parent
One giga egg. Parent leaves you alone whole tame if taming is initiated before it finishes egg.
If it remains a one egg to leave you alone, then all they need to do is boost the tame rate per mimic and it will be a fine tame. They just didn't play test this enough to get the time investment right.
Maybe they postponed that patch like all their release dates. Lok

I wasn’t able to get the baby to start taming when I tried it today does the trap have to be really close for the baby to tame?
Tested it out yesterday again as we'd been trapping from the start, baby wouldn't play the game so had to use eggs. Parent no longer kicks off on return though so can stay in the nest as long as plenty of eggs placed. Quite easy like that anyway. Official, that's on official though.
The tame wont even start for me on offical since the patch it totally broke it for me
So here's the crazy thing. I ran an Alpha Monkey Fight and now I can get the mimic to work.
Ppl in my server were wondering if they patched it, coz they did the same thing. So what exactly did they fix? lol
They patched the mod not the game but either way it didn't seem to do much.
This is bullshit then, so the mod doesn't auto update when they update it, so we would have to uninstall the mod, then re-install it to make the game worse? lol
@@NOOBLETS you don't even need to Uninstall it, just update the mod.
@@JuanCarlosSanchez-oo3sz it's far more reliable to uninstall the mod, close Ark completely, open Ark and install mod again.
You'll get the updated version, and it likely won't result in a buggy mess of missing creatures from your inventory or around your base (if talking about creature mods, insert structure example here if that is what applies to you)

Kill off the tames in the areas they spawn if you aren't finding any

Did not work for me on official. I will test it some more this weekend. I think the fact that everyone has structures everywhere bugs it out.
a little off topic but am i the only one that cant stand playing because of all the grain since the latest update ? cant find a way to get rid of it.
I play PVE and trapping it would not allow me to tame, tried surrounding nest to keep parent out and baby in and would not allow me to tame

I've tried this on a unofficial server and the trap bugged them out and made them untameable. tried for 4 hours the baby didn't recognize I was in the nest. Tried going in and out of render even logging on and off. I've also been having issues with them spawning in without nests

We tried taming on yesterday we trapped the parent then 1 went an hid in the nest thrn we let her out and she just did her thing while he tamed it might be just as easy to pick the mumma bird get a mate to hide in the nest then just drop it again

what i wanna know is how you walked right over bear trap an nothing happened, i do that and im trapped there for eternity legit never lets me goes i have to starve to death or use implant respawn because of the rates of my server it would take hours to actually starve so waiting it out isnt really option anymore lol and its not like bola when tribe mates an i bola each other its timer an eventually lets me go just got caught it bear trap 2 days ago when taming giga i thought i was far enough away to walk around it but it snapped shut an i was stuck there is this a setting you can turn off an on? cause i hate that my own traps catch me an never release even if it was 1 minute timer that wouldnt be so bad but its basically death if i even get near these traps i hardly use them because of this only if its giga or something fast an has crazy turn radius or something and yes this is asa im talking about not ase
large bear traps cannot trap a human

Gigas arent that hard to tame. You trap em and shoot em. And if you just want them for eggs, its like Yutis. Low level ones are perfectly fine.
its not only giga eggs its any eggs bronto diplo yuti i mean its not really hard to get fert eggs i see ppl say they dont wanna waste eggs on a tame its not like your dinos have limited supply of eggs maybe official that's an issue because of timers an only getting 1 egg a day with official rates but i can get fridge full in less then hour and with auto pickup ovi feature now or mods you can let things breed an just come back to loads of eggs an its about as hard as using 1 fiber about the same cost as losing 1 fiber its not precious resource eggs are so easy to get an have supply especially since we have been playing asa for 5 months if you dont have eggs by now well start itll take you few hours to go tame any level bronto or diplo or w.e easy to find an breed them maybe 1 day worth of work
@@TakenCypress369Giga are hard to tame when they don't spawn in your game Chars either! No dino wipe don't work no spawms! Assume that Rhynio took them all. So, no Giga, no tame, no egg, no Chicken nanny! Heard other eggs work but not as well. But since there are no Chicken Nannies either, Phht!
this bird is not very useful though. everyone on official fighting for days for them only to be let down once they do get them 🤣
It's an excellent travel mount after all
your kiding right, this thing is insanely fast, level into stamina and walking speed and its the fastest land mount in the game, and pretty fast in the water too

This is one of the most important tame in the whole game
The ability of giving 60% chance of a preferred stat to any offsprings is just op as hell
I'm already used to pass the Melee stat of my Christmas giga and carcha to offsprings using the ability
Now I have powerful gigas and carchas
And the strawberry in top of the cake is I also was able to pass all my raptor Claus gigantopitecus stats to a bedding pair they are so op lol
Since the removed the ability to reset imprint needs from cryo pods, this creature is wonderful. It’s great if you are a breeder for tribes
Mate if you get mutated one and another 19 boss Dinos bounded to it you will see why it is Important.People who said they a not important have tamed only low level ones witch can't carry dino due to levels.
