Sorry if it is a bad question, but what exactly is insomnia? I've heard the word a few times but never knew exactly what it was.
+logan clites Insomnia is when you can sleep for days at a time, it may not always be for days at a time, it's usally caused by a mental disorder like depression and sometimes it can be cuz anxiety, basicly it's just you cant sleep because something is wrong with you or your environment.

Based on your comic tastes, you may really enjoy The Unwritten, writtenby Mike Carey and drawn by Peter Gross. It's a really interesting take on fairy stories and children's fiction, but for adult readers, with a darker take on the stories and their world.
you had the dinosaur story all wrong, the creatures can morph into whatever the last thing they ate was, the kid was not actually a kid but a creature that had eaten the real boys finger thus allowing him to transform into the child.

These are the best, I remember watching this video years ago and thought not much of it, but I’ve got a huge collection of similar stuff. Sandman is great. Also the first 40 issues of Hellblazer the original series, it’s like reading poetry, Jamie Delano is the best. Very similar to Neil gaiman, who actually guest wrote a few issues. Thanks for a little push in the right direction!

I tend to listen to ASMR at night so I don't physically watch the video. It was pretty interesting getting sucked into these stories; creating an imagine in my head from only your descriptions, then seeing what they actually look it. Was pretty neat

Wow - I've never seen any of these, they're amazing! Some of these are more works of art than comics! Many of these make me think of Salvador Dali, Roger Dean, and other surrealistic and fantasy art! The expressions on the characters' faces are so convincing! Very relaxing video - and so cool! And I like the way you express your interpretations of their influence on your dreams! So many of my own artwork is influenced by dreams! :) Yours too?

In primary school me and my mate used to hand-draw comic books; the hero was "centi-guy" and he was a human sized centipede who fought bad guys with guns, lights sabers and any weapon you could think of with his many arms. Good times.

Tips: Not that I know how to do, rather, how I like to enjoy ASMR.
- No long phrases, they ruin the speed
- You didn't get me relaxed. You got interested, because I really love comics too. xD
- I liked it overall, but you lack some attention-direction skills. You point, yes, viewers notice it, but listeners don't. You don't tap the objects. Tap more, gently. Make me "feel" the surfaces.
- Your video looked more of a whisper vlog, which gets me confused, because I liked it, but I don't know if it fits the ASMR objective. ahah! (so count this one out xD)
You are nice! I actually think you will become even better. Great voice!

Great video, thank you! Slight misinterpretation of The Rescue by Phil Craven though. The boy in the white shirt with the injured hand near the end is a real boy, the creatures need to eat a thing before they can become the thing, he gave up a finger so the older one could be him. That's why there's a polaroid at the end on the facing page of him as an adult with the missing finger.
Sorry if I'm being pedantic, I just thought there's a sweet extra layer to the story you're missing :)

I'm pretty sure what happened is he actually ate the little boy's finger before the beginning of the comic, which is why his hand is bandaged and why he turned into the boy (since they seem to turn into whatever they eat).
Yeah. She completely misunderstood that story. The real boy gave his finger to the older creature so it could save the younger one.

Hi Kayla, I love when you show glimpses of the fantasy-type stuff you like (comics, Dark Crystal) In the commentary for Big Trouble with Little China, Kurt Russell and John Carpenter talk about how the studios didn't get the movie. The hero (Kurt Russell) doesn't act like a hero, esp. when you compare him to Wang. And, if you can believe it, when Big Trouble first came out, people thought it was too weird. Kind of like the original Tron. It took time for society to catch up with the movie. Carpenter did do one sequel (that I know of) years and years after the original (Escape from New York, Escape from Los Angeles) but yeah, I know alot of people who would have loved a sequel to Big Trouble. Hope you and your family are well during all this pandemic stuff.

Saga and Lying Cat! When he comforts the little girl calling herself "worthless" my heart breaks. Based on your selections I'd strongly recommend looking into "The Wicked + The Divine" graphic novels. they're a Neil Gaiman-esque series based on ancient gods being randomly selected and reborn every generation to live 2 years as rock stars and inspire humanity before dying again. One of the most intriguing series I've found to date and the characters are brilliant, especially Lucy(fer).
I was LITERALLY thinking of recommending those graphic novels to her as well!!! Their incredible. :)
Cool collection! Crazy that someone else grew up loving Big Trouble in Little China. Seems like such an obscure movie. I watched that all the time. Bill Plympton too, which is a very strange coincidence. I happened to see his film The Tune when I was young and became a huge fan. Hey, just curious, do you avoid Superhero comics? They're not always my favorite, but there are some really great ones out there. For instance, going back to the Silver Age, based on your artistic taste I think you'd love Jim Steranko's Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Steranko was one of the first artists in comics to utilize graphic design techniques, borrowing from pop art and op art that was just growing in popularity at the time. He was also one of the first guys to do a full page without any dialogue. Or maybe you already know about him. Either way, cool video! Love Sandman and Saga as well. Oh, maybe check out the Invisibles if you haven't already. That one is my favorite. Grant Morrison is the writer.

I think the boy with the injured hand had actually cut his hand off in order for the older Dinosaur to eat it and become the boy and guide his son to safety, the injured boy only came at that moment to save them.

I love videos like this. This one and the videos with stuff from trader joe's are some of my favorites! You should consider making these kind of videos their own series, because this is kinda like ASMR lootcrate where you just kind of do a show and tell.

Neil Gaiman is amazing, "Neverwhere" is my fav he did. they also did a audiobook of it with huge celebrities doing the voices. saga is also amazing and big trouble in little China was a fav of mine from childhood too. great video! 👍🏼
