you're by far one of my favorite make up artists on youtube! you're makeup is very doable and your tips are so helpful and practical. your tutorials really help a lot because I'm Asian and I always struggled with applying makeup on my Asian features. Also, this look on you looks very good, Emily :)
Hi Jane! I am about an NW20, and I usually don't set my foundation with powder because I don't feel like it. But when I use a slightly more creamy foundation and concealer, I do apply some powder to set the concealer and my t-zone!
Thank you for your videos! I have a very similar eye shape and couldn't do a smokey eye to save my life. Lol. I like how you take the time to give practical tips and explain your techniques. I'm getting it down. You're so pretty by the way.
love this look!! do u mind sharing what eyelashes your wearing? ive been looking for fake lashes that dont look to obnoxiously fake on asian eye. Thanks!
Hi Evangeline, that is actually pretty common and mine are also uneven, though not very obviously. It is all about the placement of eyeliner and shadow with this, and I can definitely try and do a video on it. It might take a bit of time though, because to show the effect I will have to find a model with uneven lids :)
Hi lovely, thank you so much! For eyelids that stick out, you can do the same, except maybe use the darker colour all over the lid. And be sure to use non-shimmery eyeshadows, because that will 'sink' your eye in a little bit! xx
Hi emily ur videos are always so helpful for my monolid eyes! JUst wondering where u get most of your makeup products from? (like sleek or any other brand outside aust). I also live in aust and its sometimes quite hard to get hold of products!
hi emily, i was just wondering. could u show eye makeup to even out eyelids? one of my eye has significantly smaller eyelid and is hooded. another eye has nice wide double eyelids.
Hi lovely! I always buy on eBay. I trust eBay and although some of the more famous brands do have counterfeits, brands like Sleek are usually pretty good as long as you get from a UK seller. There are also a couple of sites in Australia that do stock Sleek cosmetics, try Crush Cosmetics or Fashion Addict
Love the detailed technique. I tried to buy the ebook but PayPal said the merchant was unable to receive money. There was no link on her web site to give her feedback.
I clicked on this video because we have similar face and eye shape. I used to have a lot of problem doing my eye makeup because of my hooded eyelid. I developed my own technique pretty similar to yours :) cool to find someone alike. great video!
You are really Pretty without the makeup! But i was wondering if you could tell me where you get all the products and whether or not you suggest wearing powder.
Hey Emily, thanks for this tutorial! I can't wait to use this when school starts again :P Just a question, what would you advice be for asians with monolids that stick out (i.e. i have virtually no eyesocket so my eyelids stick out >.
They have both matte and shimmer versions, so check the description before you buy. Spice has a tiny (unnoticeable) bit of shimmer through it, and Cherub is matte :)
OuO so prettyyyy~ I don't have a lot of make up things...I only have the basics (liquid foundation, powder, lip gloss, liner-pen and brush, mascara, eyelash curler, and a brush). about how much did each of the products you use cost? I really want to invest into more make up haha
I have no idea how to do my make up. I really like yours but I don't know if I can look good with the same make up or not. Where do you get these products? Can you get them at Shopper's Drugmart? What are the price range? Where did you get your false eyelashes? Do you think the ones at the Dollar stores are good enough? Thanks.
hi Emily, I really like you.I have one of the question, wether the eyeshadow will mix together after the noon, how do you keep them originally. For me, even though I use the primer before the eyeshadow, the colours will mix after lunch time.and everything is messed up.thanks for your help
hi emily, i really like your natural look and i think you are really pretty =). I have question though. How to apply eyeliner on the bottom waterline and under the eyes without causing smudges after 2-3 hours? I live in tropical country and sometimes heat and sweat kinda ruin it. I tried using eyelid primer or foundation to no avail. Is there any certain technique or recommended primer/foundation that you might share? Thanks =)
I have the same problem with smudging, I take an eyeshadow with the same color and apply it over my eyeliner. I also use this makeup setting spray i got from victoria's secret for about $14
Hi Emily! I do enjoy you tutorial. You are a such talented youtube-r.. thanks for your tutorial! May you please give us some tips about using couture and blush together. I really want to have a sexy cheekbone
hi!! great to see ur tutorial..its really helpful but if can, can u show or give some tip on how to apply basic natural but fresh look makeup for work..that require only limited no of product..especially for people like me, who do not really know how to use or applying the eyeshadow..and plus using glasses also (^^)v ....well please help me lovely..
My problem is I'm not really good at applying makeup on my face so I tends to use just the eyeliner and mascara and blush on my face. I also wear glasses as you can see here in my pic so most time my makeup doesn't show and when I do apply more I get really uncomfortable. I just never seem to find the right makeup for me. I also have oily face so I can't really use foundation. Any recommendation?
Use a powder foundation: MAC Studio Fix for high-end, Maybelline powders for drugstore. You can buff it on to set your concealer or just by itself. It will control the shine & oils & also will photograph better than just bare skin. As for the rest, your eyeliner & mascara look just lovely in your avatar so I don't know why you're worrying :)
i totally feel you. I'm always so lost with make up. I have no idea what powder to buy or foundation to use, and which ones are the ones for contours and highlighting. I bought a random foundation and blusher and eye liner from watson, thats all i have for my make up XD
I know this was a while ago you commented, BUT if you're looking for a foundation...I have super oily skin too, even the MAC powder foundation couldn't help me >.< Although, recently I just tested the new Maybelline Fit me liquid foundation Matte + Poreless for normal to oily skin and so far, it's been working pretty good for me. It doesn't feel sticky at all in the skin. :)
Saying stupid words about how makeup changed her face must really hurt her feelings especially if it's coming from stupid guys like you .. She is soooo pretty w/wo makeup .. we just like to play with make up if that's would make us happy .. just go away you've entered the wrong video to watch ... Very natural and beautiful makeup .. I'm impressed with your way of concealing...
this look is reallly goood! i like how little eyeliner can make such a huge difference on your eyes!

love it! esp the tip on filling the "triangle" for hooded eyes. it really helps lift the eyes, super helpful :)
Hi Jane! I am about an NW20, and I usually don't set my foundation with powder because I don't feel like it. But when I use a slightly more creamy foundation and concealer, I do apply some powder to set the concealer and my t-zone!
